"-Amber are you feeling alright today?" She hears her lovely girlfriend Eula ask?
"Haha I'm fine Eula no need to worry!" She's lying of course she feels like she's burning alive but she won't say that .
They've lost too much lately from Klee to Jean to Bennet her friends can't afford time to be worried about her.
"Are you sure you can always take the day off if you don't feel well?" Eula asks again holding her hand.
She nods "ill be fine eula I'm just going to scout the edges of dragonspine nothing too dangerous for an accomplished outrider for me." She says in false confidence.
Eula looks at her suspiciously before letting it go."ok then be safe and come back your promise?" Eula asks
I laugh at her "don't worry I'm definitely coming back ."
Right when I walk away after pecking her cheek I hear her yell out you didnt say you promise back.
I'll be fine nothing can't stop me from helping out my friends!
4 hours later Eula POV
I walk into jean- I mean kaeyas new office as the act grandmaster.
"Kaeya have you seen Amber? She said she was going to dragonspine this morning and I haven't seen her since ."
Kaeya looks at her weirdly. "I thought she was with you she was with you? I haven't seen her."
Eula pales and kaeya pales
"I'm going to get diluc" He says before he quickly runs off.
Is Amber ok? Oh God. Please let her be ok.
Not another one we have to bury .
I quickly run out following kaeya as he is yelling at the knights about a search party.
Time goes by in a blur as we make our way to dragonspine.
I see lisa rushing behind us leaving behind her library that hasn't been completed due to the fire.
I see Razor and Fischel following behind with cold faces growing up quickly from the loss of Bennet.
I see Kaeya exhausted and Diluc trying to keep him together.
Then we make it to the edges.
"There's arrows here" Lisa says picking up a familiar broken arrow .
"Let's go" I say and no one argues.
We make our way up dragonspine seeing familiar paths of ash and broken arrows. Along the way are the dusty remains of hillichurls.
And from the amount of dustpiles alot of hilichurls.
"Amber!" I yell before I hear the familiar sound of an arrow hitting a target .
I run up the cliff with everyone following before I see the familiar sight of my beautiful and alive girlfriend Amber.
She's fighting a lawachurl but she's fine.
I see her pause and turn to me .
"Eu-"
Smash
My eyes widen in horror as I look at the flattened remains of my girlfriend as the lawachurls club comes back up after smashing her head.
Nononononononononono
I scream.
All I can see is blood.
All I can see is the gray substance coming from her head.
Her smashed head and her limp body
The blooding turning the white snow red
I stand there frozen.
I hear the screams of the others and the battle that ensues.
But all I can think about is the smile amber gave me.
The grateful one that I finally came to help her.
I guess I was too late..... I couldn't protect her.
Before it all goes dark I hear the familiar song of vents lyre and sobbing from the others.
All I do is sit down and watch the memory
Over and over and over and over and over and over ans over
Again.
It doesn't stop when we get back to the city who knows how long later
It doesn't stop at the funeral .
It doesn't stop at the church.
It doesn't stop at our house.
As I sit in bed I look to kaeya "Will it ever stop?" He asks?
I shake my head no and go back to the memory that doesn't stop
