Red Carnations From Mexico

Chapter 2: 2. Red Carnations

Summary:

This chapter is a bit bigger than the first one. I tried to write the second half of this chapter as if it were a separate mission in rdr2. There will also be a narration on your behalf.
Thanks to everyone who reads this!

Chapter Text

It all happened so fast.

You didn't have time to understand anything. It seemed like your brute force wasn't enough against real guns and mobsters. You were a strong woman, but just as vulnerable and feminine as many others. The girl, despite the current situation, is still the same girl.

Tied up in an incomprehensible room, surrounded by many screams of other voices, swearing, unbearable smells and overcome with fear. Your wrists were tied with a tight rope in front of your chest, and your legs seemed to be too.

The words didn't come out of your mouth. You seemed to have already understood everything, but you didn't want to put up with fate. You had a home, your own life, but now you are being taken to an unknown destination, along with people you don't know.

You stand under the scorching sun while sweat flows from you like a river, and your mouth is dry. Hair is in a mess, and your legs can't hold you up. You fall to your knees, and immediately you are lifted by a jerk by the elbow. You no longer remember what day you are in this state.

Some emaciated man breaks out of his shackles, trying to escape from the kidnappers. He looks around and stumbles like prey, trying to keep himself alive, but his head explodes, spraying blood in all directions. A little bit of scarlet blood spits in your direction, which makes you squint.

"You piece of shit! You fucking killed him, you idiot! This is our product!" An unknown man with a beard shouts at his assistant.

"He was running away! Did I have to chase him? " He answers.

"You better run the fuck yourself so I don't shoot you now!"

The remaining hostages are pushed back into the cart and sent on their way. On a long and painful journey.

You had to cross the border between America and Mexico, where you would be sold for a very large sum of money. Perhaps you will become someone's slave, or maybe you will be used as a sex toy, or sold for organs. In any case, only incredible luck can help you.. but

Faith. Faith in the future, in a better future, is the last to die. Despite everything, you kept hoping that at least something could happen and you could get out of this hell. There will be someone who is not indifferent, or just an accident, at least something!

At such moments, when it seemed that you no longer thought about anything but your life, you remembered home. The house is small, empty, but cozy... A family. A long-dead mother and father. The people you love. Javier... It seemed so long ago. He left you, but you knew how much he loved you. As much as you love him. It was all so confusing, too complicated. But your heart has never loved anyone else after him.

You were picking at something on a piece of wood in front of your nose. Remembering the flowers that are imprinted in your head. Javier's beautiful voice, his crooked and funny smile, but so sweet; a loving look.

Suddenly, the bandits woke up. The lawmen have followed you! Maybe here it is, a chance for salvation! But they were spotted too early. You disappeared into some forest, deep in the night. Your faith was gradually fading, as well as the strength for all this. They won't let you die now, but if you sell out, you'll be doomed.

U can only wait. To sit tied to a tree and quietly cry.

"Are you ready, gentlemen?" Dutch's clear voice sounded. The men nodded and were ready. The sound of hooves was heard around the circle. Something was coming up. Something very serious.

Prior to that, Arthur showed Dutch and Hosea the documents found in the safe, explaining the situation they got into during the hunt. Javier hid all his emotions, talking to others, and trying to explain himself somehow. His suggestion with the flower may have been a little strange, but Dutch strongly agreed with Javier's opinion.

Rescuing those people was now a special task for a small group. A reconnaissance and the data in the documents made it clear exactly where the wagon stopped.

Arthur, Javier, Dutch and John.

The sentry guarding the human hostages noticed the rapidly approaching horses. Opening fire, he rushed towards the camp, but was instantly shot by Javier.

His blood boils with rage, and a strange feeling of anxiety begins to grow in his chest.

With the first shot, a firefight began. Bloody and intense. It seemed that there was already a smell of gunpowder and blood everywhere. Bodies fell to the ground while professional shooters got rid of the bandits. Arthur was covering John's rear, and Javier made his way into the depths of the camp, looking around. His heart is beating too hard.

When you heard the shots, you immediately tensed up, looking around. It was strange to use my last strength just to raise my head and look at what was happening...No. You weren't up to it. You wanted to sleep. I wanted to close my eyes too much and just..

"Y/N!"

Your name is coming very close.. Really.. Who can know your name? Any documents? From where? What's happening? The voice is too familiar..

A bandit falls in front of your face, turning the ground blood red. You blink in shock. Suddenly you see him. Right in front of your face. Javier.

Javier notices you tied to a tree and sitting on the ground. Not happening. His stupid suspicion turned out to be damn true! These sons of bitches kidnapped you and brought you to America!

He runs up to you, falling to his knees. His hands take off the bandana on his face. Javier's gaze meets yours.

"..Dios mío.." You're whining in a half-whisper.

Javier is shocked, silently looking at what he sees. You look too rumpled. He can't find the words to tell you, just fiercely kisses your weathered lips, stroking your hair. He knows he's going to regret it, but he can't help himself.

The neighborhood has become too quiet. The shots have stopped, just the heartbeat of the two of you. You closed your eyes, enjoying your Javier's lips. Maybe it's just a vision and you're dying? But it doesn't matter, you're so happy to be with him again. You'll never let him go again.

He will never leave you again.

"Damn it.. But he was right." Arthur comments, by mistake, looking at the kiss of the two of you for too long.

"Happy reunion! But we have to get out of here faster before reinforcements or lawmen arrive," Dutch commands, holstering his revolvers. "John, look around, there should be a safe here."

Javier pulls away, quickly bypassing the tree and cuts the ropes, freeing you from your shackles.

You press your wrists to yourself, trying to get up from the ground.

"I will help." Javier comes back to you, grabbing you in his arms. You hug him, warming yourself with the warmth of his body. You feel like you're falling asleep..

"Arthur, help these people." Dutch points to the other abductees, and he and John open the save. As a result, it turns out to contain a small bundle of money and papers with buyer.

Arthur frees the people and tells them to get out of here as soon as possible. It's not far from Valentine from here.

"How is she, brother?" John approaches Javier, helping him with Boaz.

"We have to take her to the camp, I guess."

"Well done, boys! Let's go back to the camp, make sure that you are not followed." Dutch jumps on his horse and says goodbye to everyone, returning to the camp with Javier. Arthur rode off in the other direction, leaving this place..

On the way back, Javier holds you with his hand, heading to the camp.

"Dear Javier, you didn't tell that you have a wife. Why is that?" Dutch asks the question, being next to him.

"I don't know. Maybe there was no reason to tell. This.. It's personal. You know?!"

"Of course! But I am glad that we found her, she will recover with our team. We will definitely give her a proper welcome!"

"Muchas gracias, Dutch." Javier answers. "She shouldn't be here."

"Yes, it's just a big mistake. Now, everything will be fine!"

Javier didn't say anything to that, just nodded weakly, hugging you even more tightly.

Really. You're here by mistake. You should be safe there, but why are you here? Nowhere is safe anymore. Javier can't lose you. He was supposed to keep you alive. So that a wonderful person like you can live and enjoy life, and not hang out with someone like him, in eternal chases and murders.

Javier loves you, loves you more than anyone in the world and will do everything possible to keep you safe.
