He shivers when he feels the cold touch on his skin.
"Are you sure you'll be okay?"
"Yeah," he murmurs, his voice scarcely louder than a breath. A cool breeze tousles his hair gently. Those large, soulful eyes regard him with deep concern, tracing the lines of scars on his cheek and neck before returning to meet his gaze.
He pats his head gently. "Stay strong. Don't give up on yourself. Chase your dreams."
His voice is smooth, like his skin. He finds himself nodding as he stares into those eyes.
"What's your name?" He asks, still patting his head softly. It's almost lulling him to sleep.
"Why?"
"So I remember you," he whispers in his ear as he pulls him into a hug, resting his head on his chest.
"Taehyung," he mumbles, feeling his mind slipping into a peaceful sleep.

"Tae! Tae!"
He jerks awake, finding his manager's exhausted face hovering over him.
"Just one more hour, then you can call it a night."
He nods, a wide grin spreading across his face, fuelled by a mix of anticipation and exhaustion, as he pushes himself up from the chair.
It's been ages since that dream—or is it a memory?—haunted him. That rooftop, the chill in the air, and the boy's voice, like a melody from the heavens. He'd always believed it was the most beautiful sound in Korea, but now, millions share his sentiment. And oddly enough, he doesn't feel an ounce of envy. Instead, his heart swells with pride for what that boy has achieved in the past four years.
His own journey hasn't been a walk in the park either. It's been a battle, a constant struggle against doubt and fear. Yet, through it all, the memory of that one night's serenity has been his lifeline, keeping him afloat when the waves threatened to overwhelm him.
And now, here he stands, on the brink of releasing his first solo album in South Korea. It's a milestone he's fought tooth and nail for.
"Alright, V, are you ready?" His manager's voice snaps him back to reality, and he nods, steeling himself as he takes his place in front of the dancers.
"Let's make this happen," he declares, a fire igniting in his chest, fuelled by determination and a dash of nerves.
"Wanna crash at my place tonight?"
His choreographer slumps down on the floor, the strain of the demanding choreography evident. It's a tough routine for a debut song, courtesy of Hoseok, who proudly claims to be "the best" (a title Taehyung had no part in bestowing).
"I can tell you're on edge about tomorrow's album release. I just want you to unwind a bit. C'mon, it'll just be me and a few close pals. We've been buddies for a year now, and for some reason, you've managed to dodge meeting them until now."
Taehyung sighs as he hauls himself up, brushing the dust off his pants.
"And I plan on continuing to avoid them in the future."
"But whyyy? Is it because they're famous? Or wait, don't tell me you've become a BTS hater now?"
"What?? No. You know my playlist is practically a BTS shrine!"
He's genuinely taken aback by the direction the conversation is taking.
"Fine, fine. What if I told you the one person you're so keen on avoiding won't be there?"
Taehyung feels a knot form in his stomach as he slings his bag over his shoulder. He turns around to find his dear friend sporting a mischievous grin. Stay cool, stay cool. Hoseok doesn't suspect a thing.
"Really? And who might that be?"
"Jungkookie, obviously!" His heart lurches at the mention of the name.
"Oh, come on, V. You think I haven't noticed Jungkook plastered all over your phone wallpaper? I know he's your bias. Are you nervous about meeting him in person? Is that why you've been avoiding him?"
His heart skips a beat.
"No," he breathes, gathering his composure. "No, that's not it."
"He's a good kid. I think you two will hit it off. Trust me."
He's exhausted by this conversation.
"I know, hyung. I trust you, but it's something personal that I can't share with you just yet. I promise I'll meet them, but only after I debut. I want to feel worthy of standing before them," he repeats silently in his mind.
"Alright, alright, I get it. I won't push you any further. But I don't want you to be alone today. I'll come with you," Hobi insists, slinging his backpack over his shoulder.
"Hyung, that's really not necessary..." Tae tries to protest, but he finds himself being dragged along by the shoulders. Deep down, he knows it's futile. Hobi is a loyal friend, sometimes too good for him. He doesn't feel deserving of such friendship. And truth be told, he could use the company today. Tomorrow marks a significant change in his life, and he's not sure if he's ready. Everything feels uncertain and precarious. What if people don't like him? What if they criticize his voice? What if they judge him for his appearance? A whirlwind of doubts and fears swirls in his mind.
The next day, as Taehyung prepares for his first interview after the performance, a flurry of nerves dances in his stomach. He fidgets with his shirt collar, trying to calm the whirlwind of emotions swirling within him.
"Taehyung-ssi, it's a pleasure to have you here today," she begins, her voice warm and inviting. The interviewer, a poised woman settles into her seat opposite him. Her eyes gleam with anticipation as she starts with the interview. Taehyung can feel the cameras surrounding him.
"I'm sure our viewers are eager to learn more about the man behind the music. So, tell us, where do you draw your inspiration from?"
Taehyung's gaze softens as he reflects on the question, his thoughts drifting to that one person who has always been his guiding light, his source of strength in times of darkness.
"My inspiration," he begins, his voice tinged with emotion, "has always been someone very special to me. Someone who showed me light when all I could see was darkness. They've been my muse, my confidant, my everything."
He speaks from the depths of his heart, his admiration for this person evident in every word he utters. Yet, when the interviewer presses him to reveal the identity of this mysterious figure, he finds himself hesitating.
"I'm sorry, but I'd like to keep that part of my life private for now," he deflects gently, his eyes brimming with unspoken gratitude and affection. "But just know that they mean the world to me, and I wouldn't be where I am today without them."
The interviewer nods understandingly, sensing the sincerity in his words. She moves on to other topics, but Taehyung's thoughts remain with that one person who has shaped his journey in ways words could never fully express.

Desperate to escape the suffocating atmosphere, he stumbled out onto the terrace, his breaths coming in short, ragged gasps. He collapsed into a corner, his mind spinning with a whirlwind of fear and uncertainty.
his father's harsh words echoed in his mind like a relentless drumbeat.
"You'll never be anything if you keep wasting your time with that music nonsense!"
"Why can't you be more like your brother? Good at studying, always striving for success!"
"You're a disappointment, Taehyung. A failure."
The words hit Taehyung like a barrage of arrows, each one piercing deeper into his heart. He felt suffocated, his chest tightening with the familiar grip of panic. The weight of his father's disapproval bore down on him like a suffocating blanket, each cruel remark chipping away at his already fragile self-confidence. He didn't know how long he sat there, grappling with the onslaught of emotions, until a melodic voice cut through the silence like a beacon of light in the darkness.
♫ Unbreak the broken
Unsay these spoken words
Find hope in the hopeless
Pull me out of the train wreck
Unburn the ashes
Unchain the reactions now, not ready to die, not yet
Pull me out of the train wreck ♫
Startled, Taehyung lifted his head, his eyes widening in astonishment as he listened to the hauntingly beautiful melody floating through the air. It was as if the music itself had reached out to him, offering solace in his darkest hour.
Mesmerized by the voice, Taehyung closed his eyes, a small smile tugging at the corners of his lips as he allowed himself to be swept away by the enchanting melody. In that moment, all his worries and fears melted away, replaced by a profound sense of peace and serenity.
He didn't know who the singer was or why he was there, but in that fleeting moment, Taehyung felt a connection unlike anything he had ever experienced before – a bond forged in the purest of emotions, a love at first sight with a voice.

"Hobi," he choked out, his voice trembling with emotion as he dialed his friend's number. "Please, I need you to come over. Now."
I admit that the world is crazy for you
Maybe that's why you didn't realise
As Taehyung sat hunched over his desk, the soft glow of his laptop illuminating the dimly lit room, he immersed himself in the task at hand: crafting the lyrics of a new song for his upcoming album. The words flowed from his mind to his fingertips, each line infused with emotion and meaning.
Lost in his creative process, Taehyung was startled by the sudden ringing of his phone. With a furrowed brow, he glanced at the caller ID, surprised to see it was Hoseok calling.
"Hoseok?" Taehyung answered, his voice tinged with curiosity.
"Hey, Tae," Hoseok's voice crackled through the phone. "You need to open Twitter right now. There's something you need to see."
Confused, Taehyung quickly navigated to the Twitter app on his phone and scrolled through his timeline, his heart pounding in anticipation. And then he saw it –

"Yeah," Taehyung replied, his voice barely above a whisper. "Thanks for letting me know, Hobi."
Hoseok could sense the panic in Taehyung's voice, the rapid rise and fall of his breaths betraying his inner turmoil.
"Hey, Tae, breathe," Hoseok urged gently. "It's going to be alright. You're not alone in this."

"Yes," Hoseok replied, his voice distant and muffled, as if coming from another world.
And then, the last thing Taehyung heard before darkness claimed him was Hoseok's promise that he was coming to get him. But even as he slipped into unconsciousness, Taehyung couldn't shake the overwhelming sense of dread and guilt that threatened to consume him whole.
