Work Text:

Monarch was still furious that his efforts to steal the Miraculous from Ladybugs and Cats from other universes had been foiled by his Ladybug.

“She wouldn’t have been able to do so without help from Betterly!” He complained.

That gave him an idea, “That’s it! I’ll get help from other universes, and who better to go to for help than myself?”

“I wouldn't do that if I were you,” Fluff said.

“Nooroo, Orikko, Unify!”

“Now to find a universe where I won.”

He came upon a version of himself having a picnic with his Emile.

“A supervillain!” Emilie screamed.

“Get away from us!” The other Gabriel said.

“You don’t recognise me?”

“I think I would remember an outfit that hideous.”

Oh right, Monarch thought, if this version of me made the wish he would have no memory of being a supervillain.

“Never mind.”

He opened a portal and left the universe.

The couple stare at each other in bewilderment.

Next, he visited a version of himself who was still Hawk Moth.

“Why would I help you when I could just steal your Miraculous for myself?”

He attacked.

“Venom!”

Monarch paralysed his counterpart.

“How could a version of me be that shortsighted and stubborn?”

The Kwamis managed to stop themselves from saying anything.

“This isn’t working. New plan! I’ll find a universe where I Akumatized Ladybug and Chat Noir and take them back home.”

“I really wouldn't do that!” Sass told him.

Monarch opened another portal.

Monarch found a city in ruins.

“What have we here?” A voice said, “A ghost?”

He turned to see a version of Chat Noir in white.

“I have come to… what do you mean ghost?”

“Chat Blanc means,” Another voice said, “That you’re supposed to be dead.”

He turned to see an Akumatized Ladybug who looked like the illusion Volpina had made on Heroes’ Day.

“I’m from another universe.”

“That would explain it.”

“Can we play with him, Miss Fortune?” Chat Blanc asked.

“Now now, Kitty we have to wait for the others.”

“Others?” Monarch asked.

A portal opened and Akumatized versions of Ladybug’s whole team emerged, Including a boy using the Peacock.

“Well, I didn’t think I would see you again uncle.”

“Félix?”

“He’s not any smarter than the one we killed,” Félix commented.

“You killed him?!”

“Oh yes,” Miss Fortune said, “And we enjoyed every moment of it.”

“And now we get to do it again,” Chat Blanc said.

Monarch snapped his fingers but nothing happened.

“Did you think we wouldn't take precautions for someone with the Butterfly Miraculous?” Miss Fortune asked, “Get him!”

Monarch jumped through a portal.

He arrived at another city in ruins.

Have I time-travelled by accident? He wondered.

“Look who it is Fortune Bug.”

“I see Lady Blanche. It looks like we’ll get to kill him again.”

He looked up to see Akumatized versions of Mister Bug and Lady Noire.

“Not again.”

Monarch went through another portal.

Once again he was in a ruined city.

“Don’t tell me,” He groaned.

Akumatized versions of Scarabella and Kitty Noire showed up.

“Didn’t we already kill this guy Kitty Blance?”

“Yes, we did Fortunella.”

They gave him evil grins.

“Nope,” Monarch said and jumped through the portal.

He had returned home.

“That’s enough dimension travelling for today.”

A portal opened and Miss Fortune, Chat Blanc, Fortune Bug, Lady Blanche, Fortunella, Kitty Blanche and their teams came through.

“What?!”

“Ah, caught up with you at last,” Miss Fortune said.

“Did you forget we have Rooster Miraculous too?” Fortunella asked mockingly.

They closed in on Monarch.

“No! No! Noooooooo!”

Gabriel Agreste was never heard from again.
