"Charles watched as Rogue was sitting on a picnic blanket by the lake, looking carefree and radiant with Remy, laying his head on her lap, as they enjoyed the shade of the tree they were sheltered under, still in the view of the others, but given their own space.
It was the memory of when Gambit had first told her his intentions; that he thought was the most beautiful woman who'd ever walked the Earth, how he wished to take her out, and treat her like the lady she was. They'd only known each other for a few months by that point, but Rogue was absolutely smitten with him from the first moment she'd laid eyes on him.
