Chapter Text
It’s a week later when Phayu takes Rain to the Minor Family compound. Rain gawks the whole time Phayu takes to drive into the front yard.
This is Phayu’s family home?
This- this- this Castle?!
Rain turns back at the sound of Phayu’s chuckle. “Like what you see, darling?”
“This is your house?” Rain squeaks.
“Yes, Baby,” Phayu smirks.
Rain has to remember why they’re here, not get distracted by how sexy that smug smile looks on Phayu’s face and-
“I can hear your thoughts, Baby,” Phayu laughs
Rain blushes and lowers his head in embarrassment. “I’m worried, P’Phayu. What if they don’t like me? And what if they don’t agree to let me stay by your side silently?”
Phayu takes Rain’s hand in his and kisses his knuckles, “They will love you, Baby. Papa wouldn’t have told me to bring you over if they didn’t take a liking to you.”
Rain supposes that makes sense. But still, the worry doesn’t die down.
As they exist the car and walk towards the entrance of the house, a man shows up in front of them and bows to Phayu. “Good evening, Khun Venice. Khun Vegas and Khun Pete are waiting for you and your guest in the dining room.”
Phayu smiles and nods, “Thank you, Tee. Has everyone else arrived?”
“Yes Khun. Khun Kinn and Khun Porsche are here with Khun Chay and Khun Kim. Khun Macau isn’t here today, he’s still in London and won’t be returning till next month.” The man, Tee, says.
“And Uncle Tankhun?” Phayu asks, a wary look on his face.
Tee shakes his head, “Khun Tankhun didn’t come with Khun Kinn and Khun Porsche.”
“Okay. Thank you, Tee.”
Tee bows once more, and leaves.
Phayu sighs, “Great. Looks like Uncle will be planning something today.”
“Is everything Okay, P’Phayu?” Rain asks.
Phayu smiles and Rain and takes his hand, leading them inside the house. “My Uncle Tankhun is… peculiar.”
Rain tilts his head at the Alpha. "Is that a bad thing?”
“Not necessarily,” Phayu says, “He just has a way of doing things sometimes. He’s flamboyant, dresses in the most unusual clothes and tends to ask the craziest questions.”
Oh. Well, that’s another thing Rain is worrying about. Because what if Tankhun doesn’t like him?
“Phayu!” a voice calls out.
Rain sees a man; Pete, if he remembers correctly, walking towards them, hugging Phayu as soon as he’s close.
“Hi, Papa,” Phayu greets, bending down slightly to wrap a hand around Pete’s waist, still holding on to Rain with his other hand.
Pete turns to Rain as they break the hug and smiles. “It’s lovely to see you again, Rain. Under better circumstances this time,” Pete says.
“Certainly,” a voice replies behind Pete.
Rain sees the other man; Vegas, the face he definitely remembers, walk up to them and wrap and hand arounds Pete’s shoulder.
“Hi, Dad,” Phayu says.
“It’s good to see you son,” Vegas smiles. “And you to, Rain.”
Rain gives a nervous smile. Waking up to the man pointing a gun at him still hasn’t fully clicked in his head yet.
Vegas clears his throat, “Rain, Pete and I wanted to properly apologize for the way we first met,” he says, a slightly guilty look on his face.
Pete chimes in, “Yes. It must have been a shock. I really am sorry,” Pete says, looking at Phayu and then Rain, “It was quite a shock for us. Finding you in the house when we were unaware Phayu had a mate.”
Rain laughs slightly, “It was quite a shock for me too. Meeting P’Phayu’s parents that way and finding out about the family business.”
“Well, I do hope we can get to know each other better, and hopefully we can make a better impression on you this time,” Pete laughs.
Rain gives a soft smile, “I would love that.”
“Alright! Let’s eat,” Vegas exclaims, turning with Pete to walk into the house, Rain and Phayu following behind them.
“P’Phayu, the man from before said that there were more people here. Who are they?” Rain whispers.
Phayu leans in to whisper back, “Uncle Kinn is Dad’s cousin, Uncle Porsche is Uncle Kinn’s husband, they are Prapai’s parents.”
“Ohhhh. Do they know about P’Pai and Sky?” Rain asks
Phayu scoffs. “Definitely not. If they did, Uncle Porsche would have made a whole scene about it.”
Huh. Maybe dinner with Phayu’s parents woun’t be that bad then.
Phayu continues, “Uncle Kim and Uncle Chay are husbands. Uncle Kim is Uncle Kinn’s younger brother and Uncle Chay is Uncle Porche’s younger brother.”
Wow. Now that’s a complicated family tree.
“And the other two? TanKhun and Macau?”
“Uncle Macau is Dad’s younger brother and Uncle Tankhun is Uncle Kinn and Uncle Kim’s older brother.”
“Wow. You have an interesting family tree,” Rain says.
Phayu lets out a little laugh, “Yeah. It does surprise people when I tell them.”
As they reach the dining room, Rain see’s four men sitting at the table.
Jesus Christ. This family has amazing genes.
Rain has never seen a family with this many good-looking people.
“You’re staring, Rain,” Phayu says.
Rain blushes and stutters his words a bit. “S-Sorry Phi. It’s just- everyone is so handsome.”
One of the men laugh. He has the palest skin; a boxy smile and Rain call tell he’s tall even while sitting. “Thank you, Nong. Our family has impeccable luck when it comes to genes,” he says.
That much Rain had figured out.
Vegas sits at the head of the table and Pete sits next to Vegas on his left side. Phayu guides Rain to the table, pulling out a chair for him before sitting next to Pete. The four men who Rain still doesn’t know the names of are seated on the opposite side of them.
“So Phayu,” another one of the men says, he has the most beautiful, tanned skin, dark eyes that hold a playful glint behind them, he’s leaning back in the chair, one of his arms on the armrest as he presses his chin to his closed fist, a smirk on his face, “Is this the boyfriend Pete has been raving about for the past few weeks?”
Phayu chuckles, shaking his head, “Yes, Uncle Porsche. This is Rain, my mate.”
Well, now he has a name for one of them.
They all have that look of surprise on their faces. Like when you already knew something, but having actual conformation makes the shock worse.
The first man laughs, “Well, I didn’t think you had it in you. To hide away your mate for this long.”
Phayu gives a nervous chuckle.
The man turns to Rain, “It’s nice to meet you, Nong Rain. I’m, Kinn. And this,” he points to Porsche sitting next to him, “Is my husband, Porsche.”
“P’Pai’s parents,” Rain comments.
Porsche’s eyes lit up, “Hmm, I see you’ve met our troublesome son,” he sighs “If only that brat would do like Phayu and find a mate to settle down with.”
Rain looks at Phayu and the Alpha has a knowing smirk on his face and shakes his head. Rain almost wants to spill that Prapai has settled down, but he figures that’s something Prapai should bring to light on his own.
“Phayu,” another one of the men speaks up, “Aren’t you going to introduce us to your Mate?”
“Rain,” Phayu says, pointing to the man who just spoke, “this is my Uncle Kim, Uncle Kinn’s younger brother, and next to him is Uncle Chay, Uncle Porsche’s younger brother.”
Now that Rain looks at them. He can see the resemblance between Kinn and Kim. They both have sharp, dark eyes and the same pointed nose. Porsche and Chay also share the same eyes, and similar facial features. But while Porsche has a golden tan, Chay has fair, almost milky skin, like Kinn, but Kinn is like a vampire with how pale his skin is.
Again, this family has fantastic genes.
“Well,” Vegas speaks up, “Now that the food is here, let’s eat.”
As they talk, and by talk, they all interrogate Phayu and Rain about their relationship. When and how did they meet? Who made the first move? Who fell first? What was Rain’s first time at the races like? Did Phayu treat Rain well? What Rain plans to do after he graduates and the final question Vegas has, “Rain, I trust that Phayu informed you about what your role will be as his mate?”
Rain goes tense, his stomach flips as he nervously fiddles with the utensils in his hands. He looks at Phayu, and the Alpha takes his hand and squeezes it, smiling at him before looking back at Vegas. “We wanted to talk to you about that, Dad.”
Vegas gives Phayu a look, so does Pete, and Porsche. And everyone else sitting at the table.
“Go on,” Vegas encourages.
Rain speaks up instead of Phayu this time, “P’Phayu did tell me. How he would have to take a mate when he takes over, and they would have to have an heir.”
Pete makes a face, “And what do you have to say for that?”
“P’Phayu told me that since I’m his mate, I would be expected to rule beside him,” Rain looks at Vegas, “I don’t think I can do that.”
He hears the sharp inhale a breath Vegas takes, sees the way Pete’s eyes widen slightly.
“We were wondering if It would be okay for Rain to stay by my side, but not involve himself with the violence,” Phayu adds.
“You know that hasn’t been done before in our family, don’t you Phayu,” Kinn says.
“I know, Uncle,” Phayu sighs, “But the Main and Minor Families were always enemies, never allies,” he says, looking back and Vegas, “until You and Dad took over.”
Vegas leans back in his chair, folding his arms together, “You realize that even if you aren’t involved with the violence, you will still be apart of the family. Therefore, a part of the business,” he asks, raising an eyebrow.
Rain nods. “I do. I’m willing to learn. To do whatever it takes to be by P’Phayu’s side.”
Vegas smiles and leans forward, “Welcome to the family, Rain.”
Rain beams, a huge smile on his face as he tears up. “Thank you, thank you, thank you,” he cries and turns back to hug Phayu.
Phayu fully embraces Rain, looking at his parents who are smiling at him, he looks at Kinn, who smiles and nods at him, he looks at Porsche, Chay and Kim who are also smiling at him.
“Thank you, Papa, Dad,” he says, pulling Rain closer in as his inhales his Omega’s sweet scent.
As they finish eating, Vegas and Pete lead everyone to the garden at the back of the house. They all spend time explaining to Rain what he would have to expect in the future. Porsche, Chay, and Pete all tell their own stories of their experiences when they joined the family.
The day goes by, and as Rain and Phayu are getting ready to leave, the garden door bangs open, and a tall man walks towards them.
Rain hears Vegas audibly groan, “Good god, here he goes,” he mutters, pinching the bridge of his nose.
“Well, I heard our darling little Storm Cloud has bough home a mate!” the man exclaims, pushing Phayu out of his seat and forcing himself to sit between Phayu and Rain.
He has the brightest red hair, blue heart shaped sunglasses, he’s wearing a long bodysuit with a tiger print, a fur coat and brown cowboy boots with platform heels.
This must be Tankhun. If Rain goes off how Phayu described the man.
How this man can go wearing a fur coat in Bangkok’s heat and not faint, Rain doesn’t know.
The man extends his hand to Rain “Khun.Tankhun Theeryapanyakul,” he says, taking of the sunglasses with his other hand.
Rain takes his hand giving it a small shake and a smile, “Rain,” he says.
“Hmm,” he hums, his eyes roaming over Rain’s body, almost as if he’s inspecting Rain. “Well, I suppose you’ve been welcomed into the family by Vegas and Kinn if you’re still here, but you still need to past my test.” Tankhun says, his voice serious.
The smile drops of Rain’s face. Test? But why?
“Tell me, Nong,” he starts, and Rain feels his heartbeat strike. What if he doesn’t answer correctly? What if Tankhun doesn’t like him? “Do you like dramas?” is what he asks.
Wait.
What?
Dramas?
Vegas sighs, “Khun, now is not the time for this.”
“Oh hush. How can I know if he’s really ready to be in this family if he doesn’t?” he huffs
“P’Khun, not everyone is a movie fanatic like you are,” Kinn complains.
Oh.
OH!
TanKhun is asking if Rain likes movies!
He giggles before answering, “Yes, I do like dramas. Specifically Korean ones. Though, I may be biased since I’m half Korean myself.”
Tankhun turns to look at Rain, the biggest grin on his face. “You’re Korean?” he questions.
“Yes. My Mama is Thai, But Papa is Korean. I was Born in Korea and we moved to Thailand when I was Seven years old.”
His grin grows bigger, “You and I are going to be the best of friends, Nong Rain,” he says, wrapping a hand around Rain’s shoulder.

It’s the week after school has closed for three weeks, and Rain and Phayu are visiting the Minor Family compound, eating lunch at the outside pool.
As unexpected as it was, Rain and Tankhun grew close instantly. Talking on the phone almost every day and Tankhun even helped Rain dye his hair.
Let’s say ash blue is definitely a color Phayu likes on Rain.
Tankhun had teased Rain relentlessly about the hickeys splattered across Rain’s neck as they face timed the day after Rain surprised Phayu.
He’s sitting on the edge of the pool, legs in the water as he laughs with Pete. His phone rings and the screen lights up with Sky’s name.
“Hey ,Sky!”
There’s a few seconds of silence before Sky finally speaks.
“We need to talk.”
