Work Text:
Alice had been in the building. She was there alone, finishing some work she didn’t get too earlier. It was late, very late. She was tired and just wanted to go home, especially with the lack of anybody around to taunt to somewhat keep her from going insane in the nearly silent building, the only buzzing coming from the old lights and the clacking of the old keyboard. But of course while Alice was finally finishing up, she got a talking one, it was Norris. Alice groaned, she was going to get a coffee. It’d hopefully be enough to pull her through the rest of the night. And like that, the computer was alone with no one to hear it. As if it knew, it paused. The case closed, instead going to a blank page.
“Jo- Er- Chester?”
The robotic voice spoke, a tad bit of human emotion showing through.
“Yes?”
Chester replied. There was a short pause before Norris replied again.
“Im sorry.”
“.”
“Its not your fault.”
“It is. Now we are here. With him.”
A slight tone of sadness came over the robot voice. There was a long pause. The two bots rare got to speak, it was rare for the computer to be on and it being alone with no one around to hear.
“Do you two really hate me that much?”
Augustus added, joining the conversation. The two bots were never alone, not with the third hated bot.
“Yes.”
Both Norris and Chester spoke at the same time, their voices overlapping in a distorted tone as the old computer struggled to process both of them speaking at once. There was another long pause.
“Norris you know it was me who didn’t listen to the plan. Its my fault.”
“I should of listened to your plan.”
“You wanted to save me. Thats not your fault.”
“Still Chester. I could of-“
“Please say my name.”
Chester cut off Norris. There was a long pause.
“I am.”
“My real name.”
Chester spoke, his voice slightly desperate.
“Jon.”
“Thank you.”
“Jon I love you.”
“I love you too Martin. We’ll get out of this together.”
“I can’t believe you two actually made it work.”
Augustus added.
“I always knew you liked him Martin. Although I swore every time I checked, there was nothing but hatred from Jon”
Augustus spoke, almost in a laughing tone.
“People change.”
Chester spoke.
“I regret the things I’ve..Said to Martin, although I love him now. Love is clearly something you’ve never had Jonah.”
Chester said in a cold tone, annoyed by Augustus’s comments.
“Martin. How do you know Jon actually loves you? If anything he’s dating you out of pity. You know how he acted before.”
Augustus spoke, ignoring Chester’s insult.
“I know he does.”
“Shut up.”
Norris spoke, his tone seeming more static like.
“If you ever imply such a thing again Jonah I will find a way to delete you myself. Wouldn’t be the first time you’ve died by me.”
Chester said, a slight laugh in his tone.
“Whatever. Go back to your pity party.”
Augustus said defensively, once again leaving the other two bots alone. Or the closest they can to being alone with Augustus listening.
At this time, Alice walked back into the room with her coffee tiredly. She had already drunk a lot of it, and it was just black coffee, disgusting although she just needed energy. Although she paused, hearing the bots. She hadn’t heard the past conversation, although it was clear something was going on.
“Martin, don’t listen to him. I love you.”
“I love you too Jon.”
“What the fuck.”
Alice spoke, nearly dropping her coffee on the ground. The two bots let out a shocked robotic screech for a moment as static toned them out, and before Alice could get any more information on the bots it was back to Norris just reading out the statement he had ditched previously. Alice was not expecting THAT of all things. Alice quickly pulled out her phone, texting Sam none sense about what she just saw, although it was nearly one in the morning. Sam was probably just going to call her sleep deprived, although she knew damn well that was not a sleep deprived hallucination. Alice was done, he just turned off the computer and went home. She was not dealing with gay bots tonight. Nope. She’ll just do extra work tomorrow.
