Don't Feed The Plants

Summary:

A Dark Forest MAP script set to the song Don't Feed The Plants from Little Shop of Horrors. The clans are overpowered by the Dark Forest in their battle against them, allowing them to take over the lake territories.

Work Text:

Part 1

Subsequent to the events you have just witnessed

Similar events in cities across America

Ivypool, Blossomfall, and Minnowtail, who have slight red outlines to indicate that they are now Dark Forest spirits, stand solemnly in Thunderclan camp, which has been completely destroyed and is stained with copious amounts of blood and littered with the bodies of Thunderclan cats, as Ivypool sings. They start off staring into the ‘camera’ before Ivypool starts slowly leading them in the direction of the leader’s den and they look in the direction that they’re walking. She stops at Hollyleaf’s body, causing the others to stop slightly behind her, and they look at it in repressed horror.

Part 2

Events which bore a striking resemblance

To the ones you have just seen- began occurring

Minnowtail is alarmed as Hawkfrost walks by them, and the others follow her gaze and are alarmed as well. He looks back at them triumphantly, puffing out his chest proudly, and herds them into the nearby leader’s den, causing them to dip their heads fearfully, although Ivypool can’t fully repress the anger in her expression.

Part 3

Oooohooo

Subsequent to the events you have just witnessed,

Unsuspecting jerks from Maine to California

Ivypaw is in a meadow, intensely focused as she stalks a dove under the supervision of Hawkfrost. She lunges at it, killing it with a bite to the throat and shaking it a little too enthusiastically, before turning to Hawkfrost proudly, puffing out her chest. He smiles approvingly and slightly sinisterly before moving to lick her forehead, with the part ending right before this happens.

Part 4

Made the acquaintance of a new breed of flytrap

And got sweet-talked into feeding it blood.

Ivypaw is now Ivypool, the dove is replaced with Antpelt’s body, the background is now the Dark Forest, and Hawkfrost has a few more scars on his chest. Her expression still contains some pride, but with a mix of suppressed fear as well. Hawkfrost licks her forehead and backs up slightly, running a front claw along Antpelt’s body, which has a red outline. It slowly fades, and Ivypool closes her jaws, parting them again due to the blood in her mouth before closing them again.

Part 5

Thus the plants worked their terrible will

Finding jerks who would feed them their fill

In Thunderclan camp, long before the battle with the Dark Forest, Blossomfall angrily watches as Millie overbearingly escorts Briarlight on her way to the fresh kill pile, her assistance clearly unnecessary and annoying Briarlight slightly despite her mostly successful efforts to hide that fact. Darkstripe appears behind her, angrily staring in the same direction as her, and the shot expands to reveal that he is watching Graystripe jovially having a conversation with Firestar on the opposite side of the fresh kill pile as Millie and Briarlight, not acknowledging them. Blossomfall looks up at Darkstripe gratefully and stops lashing her tail back and forth as he moves to supportively put a front paw on her shoulder, not looking away from Graystripe. The part ends right before he makes contact with her.

Part 6

And the plants proceeded to grow and grow

And begin what they came here to do

Blossomfall is now in the tunnels, with Ivypool next to her and additional scars now that she’s trained in the Dark Forest. Both of them are panicked, and Darkstripe places his paw on her shoulder briefly, unsheathing his claws before standing up and backing into the shadows and out of sight. While Ivypool searches for an exit, not acknowledging Blossomfall, she looks down at vines with thorns and red outlines that slowly arise from the ground, slithering up her front legs. Her panic initially increases and is then replaced with resignation.

Part 7

Which was essentially to

Eat Cleveland and Des Moines

Minnowtail and Mousewhisker are at the border between their clans’ territories, and Mousewhisker runs his head against her throat affectionately. Her happiness is quickly replaced with alarm as she sees something in the distance, and she rushes into the tight space between the large rock they’re sitting on and the ground, dragging him with her. As Thornclaw walks into the frame and stands where they had been, parting his jaws to smell the air suspiciously and unsheathing his claws before scratching them against the rock, Mapleshade appears under the rock with them, with them at her left and Minnowtail closer to the ‘camera.’ She offers them a front paw, gleefully and slightly sinisterly, and Mousewhisker hesitates before Minnowtail goes to place a front paw over hers. The part ends right before she makes contact with her.

Part 8

And Peoria and New York

and where you live!

(1:44-1:54)

Minnowtail, Mousewhisker, and Mapleshade are now in the same positions in the Dark Forest, with all of them having a few additional scars now that they’ve spent some time training in the Dark Forest. Minnowtail places her paw on Mapleshade’s, and she grins, tilting her head towards Mousewhisker to indicate that she is being ordered to fight him. They are shocked and horrified by this, although they and especially Minnowtail do a good job masking this, and she hesitates before turning to him and leaping on him, pinning him against a tree and moving to slash the claws of a front paw across his face. The part ends right before she makes contact with him.

Part 9

They may offer you fortune and fame

Love and money and instant acclaim

Minnowtail, now in Riverclan camp while the battle with the Dark Forest rages around her and with additional scars on her pelt, is in the same position as she was at the end of the last part but is now attempting to claw Mapleshade, who she has backed against the leader’s den. She successfully does so, causing her to gasp and place a front paw over her wound before facing her angrily and leaping onto her, pinning her to the ground. The background comes into focus, and Mousewhisker can be seen looking over at them and staring at them in horror, no longer focusing on Rushtooth, who he has pinned down.

Part 10

But whatever they offer you

Don't feed the plants

They may offer you lots of cheap thrills

Rushtooth, taking advantage of this, thrusts upwards and pins him down, ripping his throat out with her teeth and causing him to go limp. He remains focused on Minnowtail until his death. Furious and devastated, Minnowtail thrusts upwards, escaping Mapleshade and running towards Rushtooth.

Part 11

Fancy condos in Beverly Hills

But whatever they offer you

Don't feed the plants

As Minnowtail leaps towards Rushtooth, aiming to bite her throat, Hawkfrost slams into her at the last second, pinning her down and driving a sharp stick that he is holding in his mouth through her neck, killing her. He gloats, seeing something in front of him that only increases his smug pride further, which is revealed to be Mothwing, facing him furiously while Rushtooth and Hollowflight fight behind her.

Part 12

(2:29-2:39)

Mothwing charges towards him, managing to wrench the stick from his grasp with her teeth and attempting to shove it into his throat while Mapleshade and Robinwing fight behind him. He smoothly dodges, raking his front claws down her side as Mapleshade kills Robinwing by slamming his head into the leader’s den behind him, and jumps onto her, slamming her head against a rock and killing her.

Part 13

(2:40-2:50)

Rushtooth rakes her claws down Hollowflight’s chest and stomach, killing him and causing him to go limp. She rushes to Hawkfrost, who has already been joined by Mapleshade, and they proudly look out at the camp, which is littered with the dead and barely alive bodies of Riverclan warriors. The few ongoing fights are winding down and clearly not going well for the Riverclan warriors. Rushtooth turns around, hearing Dapplenose charging towards her, and attempts to claw her face, the part ending right before she makes contact with her.

Part 14

(2:51-3:01)

In Windclan camp, Blossomfall is in the same position Rushtooth was at the end of the last part, and Darkstripe is in Dapplenose’s position. She claws him, and he shakes his head angrily before jumping onto her, pinning her down and slashing her throat with the claws of a front paw, killing her. Applefur, who is fighting with Snowtuft and Thistleclaw behind her, sees this and is furious.

Part 15

(3:02-3:12)

Applefur manages to get away from Snowtuft and Thistleclaw before leaping towards Darkstripe, knocking him against the leader’s den and preparing to slash her front claws against his throat while he looks at her in fear. At the last second, Breezepelt jumps down from the leader’s den and onto her, and she flips onto her back, clawing his stomach.

Part 16

(3:13-3:23)

Darkstripe recovers and shoves his head down to grab her throat in his teeth, dragging her upwards and knocking Breezepelt over in the process. He kills her by slamming her head against the leader’s den, and Breezepelt scrambles upwards, trying to hide the fact that he’s injured and in pain. He turns, embarrassed, away from Darkstripe, watching triumphantly as Snowtuft and Thistleclaw back Ivypool through the camp wall and into the heather.

Part 17

(3:24-3:34)

In the heather and far away from the other cats, Ivypool attempts to fight Snowtuft and Thistleclaw, eventually getting overpowered and forced to the ground. Right before Thistleclaw can slash his claws across her throat, Hollyleaf throws herself against him, slamming him to the ground.

Part 18

(3:35-3:45)

Ivypool attempts to join her but is stopped as Snowtuft claws her throat. She lies on the ground, bleeding out and being held down by him unnecessarily as he holds her head towards Hollyleaf so that she has to watch her, as Hawkfrost enters the heather and stabs her in the throat with his stick, saving Thistleclaw from her and causing her to collapse on the ground, dead. Ivypool dies at the same time as her.

Part 19

(3:46-3:56)

In Shadowclan camp, Ivypool is replaced with Blackstar, and Snowtuft is replaced with Redwillow, who reacts with triumph as he realizes that he is dead, puffing his chest out with pride. Shredtail pads over to him, dipping his head to him respectfully while Redwillow beams, and they menacingly turn to face the direction that Redwillow was forcibly pointing Blackstar’s head towards.

Part 20

(3:57-4:07)

The shot expands to reveal that they are watching Tallpoppy and Maggottail fight. Maggottail overpowers her and wraps his half rotted tail around her neck, slowly suffocating her and killing her, before proudly joining Redwillow and Shredtail. Meanwhile, Lionblaze charges at Shredtail from behind him.

Part 21

(4:08-4:18)

Shredtail becomes aware of Lionblaze and whips around to face him, dodging him as he lunges towards him. Lionblaze ends up in Redwillow’s grasp, and he slams him to the ground. Maggottail joins him, and they claw at him until Lionblaze thrusts upwards, knocking Redwillow off of him. Midnight walks into frame and stands behind him, backing him up.

Part 22

(4:19-4:29)

Shredtail leaps onto Lionblaze, shoving his head against the leader’s den repeatedly until he dies, while Maggottail and Redwillow leap onto Midnight and claw at her while she attempts to throw them off, eventually getting overpowered as Stumpytail and Clawface join them.

Part 23

(4:30-4:40)

Ratscar slams into Redwillow, knocking him to the ground, before attempting to jump back up onto Midnight and knock another cat off of her. Redwillow drags him back down by the tail, forcibly grabbing one of Midnight’s front paws and shoving her claws against his throat until he dies.

Part 24

(4:41-4:51)

In Thunderclan camp, Redwillow is replaced with Breezepelt, Ratscar is replaced with Jayfeather, and Midnight is replaced with Hollyleaf’s body. Breezepelt digs her front claws into Jayfeather’s neck, causing him to slowly stop struggling and die. The background comes into focus as Crowfeather, who is currently fighting Brokenstar, sees this and abandons his fight, rushing towards Breezepelt.

Part 25

(4:52-5:02)

Breezepelt, who is gloating too much to notice Crowfeather, is shoved to the ground by him. Crowfeather leans towards him, furious, and prepares to claw his ear, getting shoved off of him and to the ground by Brokenstar, who claws his chest and stomach, killing him.

Part 26

(5:03-5:13)

Yellowfang leaps onto Brokenstar, shoving him against the ground and managing to force death berries into his mouth. Breezepelt recovers and slams her off of him and into the leader’s den, killing her by slamming her head against it, and Brokenstar stands up and coughs up the death berries.

Part 27

(5:14-5:24)

The background comes into focus, and Brambleclaw and Hawkfrost can be seen fighting. The shot zoom in to them, and Hawkfrost manages to take his stick back from Brambleclaw, nearly succeeding in stabbing him in the throat with it until Tigerstar runs into the frame and shoves it to the side, preventing him from doing so, before looking furiously at a now confused and devastated Hawkfrost.

Part 28

(5:25-5:35)

Brambleclaw shakes his head before leaping onto Tigerstar, pinning him down and clawing at the back of his head and neck. Tigerstar, furious but still proud of his fighting skills, sees something out of frame that increases his fury further and gives him the motivation necessary to struggle out from under Brambleclaw, and he charges out of frame, causing Hawkfrost to start his fight with Brambleclaw back up.

Part 29

(5:36-5:46)

Tigerstar lunges towards Firestar, who dodges and claws at him, causing him to spin around to face him, Firestar ducks under him and claws at his stomach, sending him to the ground, before lightning hits the tree next to him, which catches on fire and falls onto him, killing him and infuriating Tigerstar. Behind him, Hawkfrost has stabbed Brambleclaw in the neck with his stick, killing him.

Part 30

(5:47-5:57)

Hawkfrost gleefully towers over Brambleclaw’s body before focusing his attention on something out of frame, and the shot expands to reveal that he is watching Ferncloud and Dovewing defend the nursery against Brokenstar. He lunges at Ferncloud’s throat, biting it and killing her, and Dovewing leaps onto him, clawing at his eyes.

Part 31

(5:58-6:08)

Behind them, Mapleshade is holding Sandstorm’s neck in her mouth and shaking her, causing her to go limp. She notices them afterwards and runs towards Dovewing, who turns around to face her and claws her face. Taking advantage of the fact that she is distracted, Brokenstar thrusts upwards, knocking her into Mapleshade’s claws and allowing her to claw at her throat, killing her. In the background of the shot during this part, Houndleap fights with Mousefur and Longtail, eventually overpowering Mousefur and killing her by biting her throat before slashing his claws against Longtail’s neck, killing him.

Part 32

(6:09-6:19)

Hawkfrost, Tigerstar, and Houndleap join them, triumphantly puffing their chests out and lashing their tails back and forth while laughing at the audience. The bodies of dead and barely alive Thunderclan warriors surround them, and the few fights that are still ongoing are not going well for the Thunderclan warriors. Hawkfrost approaches the ‘camera’ and claws at it, creating static before the screen goes black.
