Chapter Text
There's few things in life that make Momo feel like home more than, ironically, waiting for Yuki to be done with dinner while he picks a movie to watch together from Yuki's living room, humming along to whatever Yuki is singing, laughing along when it's a parody and helping with joke lyrics.
It sadly doesn't happen as often anymore now that they not only live in different places and are also more busy than they've ever been before, but it's still easily Momo's favourite relaxing activity.
What could be better than a nice evening with Yuki? Especially when he knows he'll get to enjoy a nice homemade meal from his darling.
Yuki's smile while he cooks is all Momo needs to know Yuki must feel something similar. That's why he's so confused when he realizes he can't hear Yuki's voice anymore.
He looks up and Yuki is just doing his own thing, making Momo ask “Are you okay, Darling?”
"Everything's fine, Honey. Keep singing, okay?" Yuki asks, not even looking up at Momo for a second.
Momo can't help but notice it's more of an invitation than permission from Yuki, but he finds it strange, so he complains "Nooo! It'd be embarrassing to sing for you all alone..."
"Why? Don't you think it'd be romantic?" Yuki clearly tries to make it sound like he's joking, but he sounds pretty shy instead.
"It'd be super romantic, that's why I'm nervous!" Momo jokes, trying to see if Yuki follows or he means it.
"Don't overthink it so much, Momo" Yuki insists, his voice sweet and seductive as he praises him "Your singing is perfect for me just the way were doing it just now"
Momo blushes, so surprised by Yuki’s words that he starts panicking a bit, explains "I wasn't singing properly, though! Or, thinking about my technique, or anything! I probably sounded worse than an amateur now that I'm thinking about it... Yuki could find a better singer in a karaoke party......"
Before Momo knows it, Yuki is suddenly in front of him, hand in his chin to force him to look up at him, asks "What did I just say?"
"Uhm-" Momo tries to get any word out, but he's surprisingly overwhelmed with Yuki so close to his face.
So Yuki, naturally, does the worst he can do and just kisses him.
Still, the warmth of Yuki's perfect, soft lips somehow resets Momo's brain and when Yuki pulls away, he asks again "What did I just say, Momo"
"That my singing was perfect before" Momo repeats for him, his mind much clearer somehow.
"I said you didn't have to overthink it, and what did you do?" Yuki clarifies, though he looks more worried than angry.
Momo bursts out laughing before he can stop himself, half out of nervousness and half out of endearment. His Yuki really is a gentleman.
"Sorry, sorry! Do you really want to hear me singing?" Momo asks with an apologetic smile, but he finally feels calm and in control again. Yuki smiles and nods, whispers a soft but content 'yes' , so Momo promises "I'll do it, then! Just for you, my Yuki"
"I'll go back to the kitchen before something ends up on fire, then" Yuki excuses himself, stands up and goes back to cooking.
"Thanks, Darling!" Momo chirps, but he's not only grateful for the amazing food he's making - he's mainly thankful that Yuki managed to find an excuse to leave so Momo doesn't have to face him while singing after all that just happened.
In a way, they are closer than ever, know each other better than ever, love each other more than ever. It doesn't (it probably never will) change the fact that, the more they love each other, the more overwhelming it will be to face those feelings head first.
It also doesn't mean Momo will ever stop trying (and pestering Yuki to join him).
