Summary
302 years after Aegon's Conquest, King Rhaegar Targaryen sits the Iron Throne. The rebel Lord Robert Baratheon is dead, alongside the King's second wife, Lyanna of House Stark. It is time the hurts of the past are forgiven, and the House of the Dragon befriends the North once more.
Arya Stark could not be more unhappy about this.
Or, Prince Jon Targaryen is betrothed to his younger Stark cousin, Arya.

Ch 1 old nan gives good advice
For a moment, Arya mistakes her mothers intentions. Scales? They are not the red or black of a Targaryen, for which Arya is glad, but a deeper blue, one that matches with the roses on the other side.
It takes her a moment of contemplating why her mother would stitch blue dragon scales into her maiden cloak, the only part of the wedding that cannot be claimed by the Targaryens, when she realises.
Not a dragon, but a fish . She has done it for House Tully.
J 3 Sansa's admission comes quickly. “He has a bastard."
Arya's face draws back in shock. “I- since you were married? Before? ”
Arya has never had much love for Harold Hardyng, yet never has she wished to tear his throat out more.
“Both,” Sansa says, and it almost makes Arya see red.
H 6 She contemplates the poor arrangement between Asha Greyjoy and Robb Stark. It is almost laughable, the idea her father may have come up with a poorer match than hers. Robb, for all she loves him as her brother, is her mother’s son. He has learned Father’s lessons, and can do quite an impressive impression of Ned Stark’s ‘Lord's face,’ but his sensibilities have always been more… Southern.
He had never been soft, nor so flowery as most of the heirs south of the neck, yet the fierceness of women in not so appreciated by her brother. He respects them, more than most northern lords, yet she can see how he is intimidated. Even as his sister, he had always been skeptical of her more outlandish traits.
