Rayne winces as he casts a spell to make Mash lighter before piggy backing the unconscious Mash back. He grits and staggers as blood flows from the back of his neck. Where he was bitten. By Mash. Rayne was careless. And now, he may have potentially ruined the life of his younger brother’s best friend.
Not good .
He doesn’t even have the strength to look around at the damage done to the forest. He had tried to limit Mash when he went berserk when he came into his secondary gender. Honestly, who’d have known that being a lackmagic would make one violently come into their secondary gender at 20 years of age. Though this is very likely to be an isolated case. Rayne thinks it's likely a reaction related to Mash's relation to Innocent Zero, instead of Mash being a lackmagic. Rayne for sure didn’t know that Mash would react like this to the presentation of his secondary gender. He has suspicions that maybe Wahlberg-sensei knew… after all, it was him who sent Rayne here to deal with a feral Mash.
Had Rayne known that Mash had presented as an alpha, he would’ve protested harder. And asked Wahlberg-sensei to send someone else, a different Divine Visionary, in fact any of them would’ve been a fantastic idea. Any of them except Rayne. After all, Rayne is the only omega amongst the Divine Visionaries. It doesn’t make him any weaker, it just… well, the bite on the back of his neck is the best example of why not to send an omega to deal with an alpha and vice versa. He can already hear the nagging voice of Orter-san telling him off. Rayne frowns.
Though maybe it’s because it’s Mash, specifically, that Rayne was sent. Rayne holds onto Mash a little together.
“I better take you to Wahlberg-sensei quickly.” Rayne mutters under his breath to Mash who is sleeping happily on Rayne’s back for now. His neck is burning. Though perhaps taking Mash to Meliadoul-san would be a better choice. Either way, he would prefer to have Wahlberg-sensei take a look.
No doubt there would be PR issues he’d have to deal with later. After all, having a Divine Visionary forcefully bite another Divine Visionary on the neck is sure to bring problems. And with Mash being a lackmagic wizard is already enough of an issue that they are trying to get the public used to. Positive PR is needed. And well, Rayne doesn’t want to come out and say this himself, but he is rather loved by the public as the youngest wizard to receive three magic lines. There are polarising opinions on the fact that he’s an omega though… So for the public to discover that he was bitten forcefully isn’t going to do Mash any good. The backlash will be awful.
They’ll have to spin a story for the public.
Or maybe they can come out with the truth and reveal that Rayne has been warming up Mash’s bed nightly for some years already. And maybe if they don’t say anything about the bite being forced without consent, that Rayne hadn’t actually consented to the bite, then maybe it can be quickly brushed under the rug.
They’d never discussed this. Rayne and Mash. And their future. In hindsight, they really should’ve. Even when Rayne knew Mash’s 20th birthday was fast approaching, Mash had simply asked Rayne to stay and eat cream puffs with him. They hadn’t brought up the topic of becoming a bonded pair. At that time, Rayne had thought that both of them still had years left before that conversation was pressing.
He’d left the bag of limited edition cream puffs at home; with Regro when he was summoned by Wahlberg-sensei to prevent Mash’s rampage. A rampage none of them had expected. After all, Rayne’s never heard of anyone going on a rampage after presenting. And if the public learns of that too… Rayne mentally sighs, not a good look when they’re trying to change the world and show everyone that humans without magic are not the spawn of the devil.
Though the punters learning of Mash and Rayne’s long term relationship may not be the best idea. If the public learns of his relationship with Mash, they may ask questions, like how long it’s been going on for and then they may accuse the selection of the Divine Visionary of being bias and subjective. Playing favourites in this magical realm is again, not a good look. And that will bring negative PR to Mash again.
Rayne has no idea how to get out of this mess. And maybe Wahlberg-sensei did foresee this. After all, Rayne wouldn’t know how to cope if Mash had placed a claim on anyone else. Rayne huffs at the thought. He’d probably ruin the other person’s life. But if Finn asked him not to, he probably wouldn’t… probably. Rayne isn’t sure. He doesn’t want to think about it.
He was lucky that Mash wasn’t in his right mind, Rayne is often doubtful that he could win against Mash if they were to battle, for real. It just so happens that they’re on the same side, and often, they’re fighting the injustice of the realm, together. Like many couples, they bicker. Usually about naming their pet bunnies, or which cream puff tastes better. And things like what colour earring suits Rayne more. And sometimes, the amount of stamina Mash has in bed, and how quickly Rayne runs out of stamina. Though, in Rayne’s defence, he is comparing himself to Mash, whose stamina is basically unlimited, in Rayne’s eyes.
As the Muscle Crane, Mash’s muscles are basically perfect. And to have perfect muscles, his stamina is also top notch. Almost like a byproduct. Rayne had absolutely no complaints about that initially. Until he realised that Mash could last all night in bed without even breaking a sweat. Leaving Rayne absolutely ruined the following morning. It was mortifying to try and go into work when his legs won’t listen to him, when his waist and back ached. He would often be bed-bound until a healer came to take a look at him. Occasionally, when there was time, Lance, the Gravity Crane would come and visit to send messages from Mash who would be punished with a lecture for leaving another Divine Visionary temporarily debilitated.
At the start, Rayne would be too embarrassed to ask Finn for help to heal him from something like this . But nowadays, he doesn’t know how Finn finds out, probably through Lance complaining about Mash forcing Rayne to skip work, which in turn makes Lance pick up the slack and then return home later than he’d like to spend time with his precious sister. Nowadays, Finn knocks politely on Rayne’s bedroom door, heals Rayne, stops for a chat with Regro before heading off.
Thankfully, Rayne hadn’t injured Mash with his partisans. He had simply knocked the other out. It would be easy for even Rayne to wake Mash. And healing magic isn’t even his forte. Though he really should brush up on it and maybe that way, Finn won’t have to see him limp or lying in a bed covered in bite marks.
“Rayne…” Mash whispers quietly in his unconscious state.
Rayne smiles slightly. He has long stopped wondering whether Mash likes cream puffs more or him more. “We’ll be there in no time, Mash, don’t worry.” Rayne tells Mash. He’s sure Wahlberg-sensei will have some insight and can help.
Just as Rayne’s sentence finishes. The atmosphere in the air shifts and Rayne automatically is tense and very alert. Instantly, his wand is in hand and his senses are on overdrive. He has to protect both Mash and himself. It wouldn’t be a problem if restraining Mash hadn’t drained him significantly already.
“Who the fuck claimed you, Rayne?”
Rayne tries to whip his head around to look at the person who had spoken - to look at Mash. He’s never heard Mash swear. But Rayne isn’t fast enough. “No, Mash-!”
Mash’s legs tighten around Rayne’s body and his strength is immeasurable as he holds Rayne’s head in place and sinks his fangs over the still healing claim bite on the back of Rayne’s neck.
Blood is drawn, and Rayne hisses in pain. “Mash, stop!” There’s no point to stake a claim on someone who has already been claimed. And to begin with, it was Mash who had claimed him anyway.
Mash bites multiple times, each time harder than the previous. Mash licks the blood trickling out of the deep bite marks he left on Rayne’s neck. His eyes are hazy as he looks at the mark with satisfaction. “You’re mine, Rayne.” He drops the honorific again.
Rayne whimpers at the other’s tone. He wants to nod, but Mash is holding his head so still, he feels like he can’t move a single muscle without it triggering Mash. But he will speak. “I know Mash, I’ve always been yours.”
Mash presses kisses against Rayne’s neck.
“Don't bite me again, you’ve already bitten me multiple times!” Rayne warns even though he’s the one who is frozen. The second, third and all subsequent bites won’t form into a claim, but he swears his neck will feel sore for ages to come. He imagines his neck must look like it’s been mauled.
Mash growls and as though he is acting just to be defiant, he bites Rayne again, a different spot, and much more shallow.
A shiver runs down Rayne’s spine. “Stop, Mash!” He tries to elbow Mash but the other has his limbs wrapped around him so tightly, he might as well be tied up. “If you’re up, get off, we have to go sort out this mess we’re in.”
Mash does let go of Rayne. And Rayne sighs, slightly relieved that the younger Divine Visionary is finally listening to him. He can’t wait for all of this to be over so that they can go back to just enjoying each other’s company, petting rabbits and consuming cream puffs. He lifts the spell on Mash so that he is no longer as light as a feather.
But Rayne’s relief is short lived when he is pushed strongly to the floor of the forest with an oompf . There’s the sound of a crack and Rayne doesn’t even have time to think about how many of his ribs broke in that instant.
“Mash?” Rayne stares wide-eyed at Mash, trying to figure out what the other’s problem is. The wheels in his head start turning and Rayne thinks that perhaps he has made a big mistake.
“I’m the one who is to make a mess of you.” Mash growls loudly as he pins Rayne down easily. He grabs Rayne’s simple wand and snaps it in half easily with a couple of fingers.
“Mash, snap out of it!” Rayne immediately says when he realises that Mash is still not the Mash he is familiar with. He should not have dropped his guard, and now he’s lost his wand, his companion. Mash’s eyes look hazy, as though they’re not focusing properly. He is still berserk. Rayne curses himself at his stupidity, wonders why he thought Mash was back to normal just because he remembers Rayne’s name. He really does have a soft spot for Mash.
Ignoring Rayne’s protests and hands that are pushing against him, Mash crashes his lips onto Rayne’s. Their teeth clack loudly and Mash’s tongue easily goes to explore Rayne’s mouth.
Rayne tries to keep his teary eyes open as he tries to push Mash off of himself. It’s futile, and he knows that himself. There is no one who has physical strength stronger than Mash, his title of the Muscle Cane isn’t just for show. Even with magic enhancement, Mash is still stronger.
So Rayne tries to bite Mash’s lips. Except, Mash also has an extremely high pain tolerance… He draws blood but Mash doesn’t even flinch, and continues to kiss Rayne as though they have no tomorrow.
If Rayne doesn’t find a solution for this situation, they may both not have a tomorrow.
Rayne bites harder and it only causes Mash to disconnect for a half a second to lick his own blood before he connects his lips with Rayne again. The taste of Mash’s blood scares Rayne. He breathes through his nose as his mouth is assaulted roughly. He can feel Mash occasionally bite his lips. Even Mash’s lips are strong. They press and pry, just like Mash’s tongue, so much strength in such a small muscle.
Mash holds onto Rayne more tightly, he grabs both of Rayne’s wrist with one hand, firm is an understatement. It’s not the first time Rayne has often felt powerless with Mash, though those times were within the privacy of their bedroom, in their bed. Where he enjoys being manhandled by Mash.
Not in the middle of the forest, on the floor, where there is a dire-ish situation on hand. Mash’s reputation can be ruined like this. He needs to think, to strategise, they need positive PR to not stain their image. To make this a better world for people with or without magic, to make this a better world for orphans.
“Mine.” Mash speaks into Rayne’s ear, his tongue tracing the ear lobe and sucking gently on Rayne’s earring. “Mine.” Mash repeats as he grinds into Rayne.
Rayne lets out a moan and then bites his bottom lip to stop his voice. His body is so familiar with Mash, it’s by now, an instinct.
But this is not the time and place. “Please, Mash, stop.”
Mash dismisses Rayne’s concerns as he roughly pulls apart Rayne’s trousers.
“Sweet.” Mash mumbles.
Rayne is extremely embarrassed when he realises he’s soaked. His cock is leaking pre-cum and his folds tingle in anticipation, reacting to Mash’s strong scent. He can feel his slick drip out of him, inviting his alpha to have a taste, or perhaps to push it back in. It’s not the time for this, they shouldn’t be doing this in this situation. He can’t get excited over this. It’s horrifying. He’s mortified and all Rayne wants to do is cover his face and his legs.
But Mash doesn’t let him. He looms over Rayne, his face still mostly expressionless, not a single bead of sweat is on him, not a single piece of hair is not where it shouldn’t be. “Rayne is mine.” Mash covers Rayne’s mouth with his own again, muting Rayne’s scream when Mash pushes his hard cock past Rayne’s soaking wet folds.
Immediately, Rayne struggles, his legs try to close, his feet push against Mash, trying to push the other off, but Mash doesn’t budge. Rayne tugs at his wrists, trying to break free. But that was the wrong move, as Mash only tightens his hold around Rayne’s wrist. And they too, snap just like his wand.
The pain that rushes through Rayne is immeasurable. Even fighting Delisaster was not this painful, and he’d torn up Rayne’s body real good. Hot tears roll down Rayne’s cheeks as his cries are muffled by Mash’s lips.
Mash doesn’t wait as the alpha in him dictates his every move. To claim, to bite, to take. And he does. He thrusts roughly into Rayne, drawing blood from Rayne’s inside at the crass treatment. The smell of Rayne’s blood from his nether regions and from his neck is tantalising, it contains Mash in his fog of lust and desire, wanting nothing more than to warm his cock inside of Rayne.
Rayne closes his eyes, not wanting to see Mash in this state. Not wanting to see the consequences of his decisions. In that moment, he hates that the omega in him begs for his alpha. He hates that his body instinctively welcomes Mash and reacts passionately to what is transpiring between them.
Their lips break apart, and Rayne opens his eyes to look at Mash before he turns to look at the side, staring blankly into the forest as Mash shows no percy, pounding into him. He can’t find his voice. He knows deep within him that all he can do now is wait until the alpha in Mash is satisfied.
Rayne’s body jolts when Mash pushes his cock in deeper, he knows what it means, and he expects it when Mash cums deep within him like an eruption. It’s hot, it sears, it burns. It chips at the pain, eroding it slowly. His folds flutter happily around Mash’s thick girth. Rayne has a small cry pulled out of him when he can feel Mash knot him. It lodges well in Rayne, trapped almost as Mash’s knot expands, its purpose to pump more cum into Rayne and to keep the cum there so that it can take. And Mash’s knot does exactly that. Rayne’s body is locked on Mash’s knot, he whimpers quietly as gush after gush of cum flows into him, coating his insides, filling him. The omega in Rayne chirps in bliss.
There is no naivety left. Rayne knows that this is only the beginning. After all, sex with Mash never just ends after one round. Though, it has also never been this painful before either.
He loses count of how many times Mash holds him down easily and cums hard in him. The fact that they are both very fertile is a crude reminder to Rayne with every second that ticks by.
Eventually, Mash lets go of Rayne’s broken wrists. Rayne’s whole body aches, he’s covered in the shape of Mash’s fingernails and teeth. The smell of blood, sweat and sex infiltrate his senses and he feels incredibly overwhelmed.
When Mash had told him he’d make a mess of Rayne, it wasn't without conviction, he kept his word. Rayne is beyond well fucked . No doubt Kaldo and Ryoh would find his current predicament amusing despite how much trouble he’s now stirred up.
Mash reaches down to play with Rayne’s clit, it feels gentle, and Rayne whimpers as he cums from Mash’s familiar touch. Mash growls and pushes his knot deeper into Rayne.
Rayne closes his eyes and bites his lips tightly as he weakly pushes against Mash with his elbows. His wrists are swollen from where they snapped earlier. Mash doesn't even budge. Rayne pleads, “Mash, please, stop.”
Mash shows no signs of stopping as he connects their lips, his tongue caressing Rayne’s warm cavern.
Rayne shudders under Mash, he can barely feel his spread legs. His stomach feels bloated, and he knows very well why. If Mash had managed to put a child in him, he’d have a much bigger story to spin for the public. He can already see the headlines. A scandalous affair, the union of two Divine Visionaries, the one who is considered most magically talented and the one who has absolutely no magical talent. He supposes, well, opposites do attract, don’t they?
A gasp escapes Rayne when their lips disconnect.
“My omega…” Mash says softly, almost like a sigh. He holds onto Rayne’s hips tightly as he adjusts his knot inside of Rayne slightly, a small amount of Mash’s cum trickles from Rayne’s abused hole and down his plump cheek. “Rayne-kun…” Hot tears fall from Mash’s eyes and onto Rayne’s flushed cheeks.
Rayne cries silently. He curses himself for being so weak. If only he were stronger, he wouldn’t have let Mash spiral to this position. He’s ruining Mash’s life. Mash - Finn’s best friend, and one of Rayne’s most important people. Mash will wake up feeling so guilty. Even though Rayne doesn’t blame him, society will. With his arms shaking, Rayne carefully wraps his arms around Mash, he tries to hold onto Mash tightly, tries to comfort the other, but his wrists hurt so much, he can’t feel his hands. Rayne takes in a shuddered breath and tearfully whispers into Mash’s ear, “I’m so sorry, Mash.”
