Chapter Text
Jin’s mind was racing a million miles as he ran through the halls of the hospital. He had just gotten out of classes for the day when he got the text from Phee with just a location. He had spent the whole day wondering why Phee and Tan weren't in school. Now, going to the hospital was putting a whole new fear into his mind.
He almost crashed into a nurse, before nearly tripping into the nurse station. He was panicking as he asked which room Phee was in.
The nurse gave him a strange look before telling him down the hall, the room with the officer out front.
Jin’s eyes widened fearfully as he started down the hall again, ignoring the nurses' call for him to stop running.
The teenager was stopped though when he got to the room, the police officer holding a hand up. “I’m sorry, but this is a private room. You can’t go in.”
“No, no. Phee. He told me to come. Please, you have to let me in!” Jin answered, trying to push past the man and not caring if he was being loud or making a scene in the middle of the hall.
“No, you can’t go…”
Both of them stopped as the door opened to Phee barely peeking out. “It’s okay. I called him. My father knows.”
The officer nodded, letting Jin past finally and closing the door behind them. Phee headed back to one bed, half the room hidden by a curtain.
“Phee! Are you okay? What’s going on?” Jin asked as he walked over to the other, taking in the bandages on his body, the bruises on his face. None of it looked good but what scared him even more was just how calm Phee seemed or maybe it was the police outside the door guarding them.
Phee sighed, making space for Jin to sit on the bed with him, trying to give his boyfriend a smile, even as hard as it was at the moment with everything that had happened in the last twenty four hours. “I’ll be okay. Just a few injuries. Nothing I can’t heal from.”
“A few injuries? Phee! You look like you were run over by a truck!” Jin exclaimed, reaching to touch his face and causing the other to flinch.
“Okay, it's more than a few, but I will heal and be okay.” Phee answered. “It’s other things that we really need to worry about now”
“What other things?”
“It’s what me and New did…”
“Who is New?”
“Right…you don’t know him as New. New is Tan.” Phee explained. “Tan is Non’s older brother.”
Jin was quiet for a moment, a moment of fear going across his face for a moment. “Non? How… how do you know Non?”
Phee nodded, taking his boyfriend’s hand. “Non was…is, was my boyfriend, Jin. We were dating before while your group was making the short film. Then things blew up with that teacher. I said things I shouldn’t have. But once he disappeared I knew things weren’t right. New came to me and we decided to try and find him.”
“We decided to enroll in your school to try and find out what happened to him since he was last seen with your group of friends that weekend in the woods. We didn’t believe he just disappeared. And I noticed you seemed the most worried whenever we asked, so I got closer to you.” Phee started explaining.
The last part caused Jin to jerk away from Phee, the fear quickly changing to hurt. “So you were just using me?”
“No, I was never just using you, Jin. New wanted me to get close to you to find out things about Non, but everything I ever said or did was because I actually do care about you. I do love you.” He answered “I never wanted to hurt you and I was always scared of what I was doing.”
“So… where is Tan… or New? What happened to you two? Because I swear I don’t know what happened to Non after that night. It’s like he went crazy and then Tee and Top took him somewhere.”
Phee nodded, carefully reaching for Jin’s hand again. “I know, darling. We talked to White, Tee’s boyfriend. He found things out for us… Tee had given Non to his uncle and he was still alive. His uncle wanted him because of the money or bank things. I don’t know completely, I just got Non out of it the first time. We found out where he was, but my father wouldn’t do anything.”
“Phee, no, you didn’t.” Jin squeezed his boyfriend’s hand. “Please…”
Phee smiled, a slight chuckle leaving his chest. “Yeah we were stupid last night. We went in to try and rescue Non. Of course we got caught, just two kids against the mafia. Shouldn’t be alive right now, but Dad showed up just in time.”
“Phee, where-where is Tan?”
“...Non fell over, I passed out… they had guns to our heads, but New wouldn’t stop fighting. He wouldn’t give up.He didn’t make it, and it’s my fault.” Phee’s voice was getting thick, the tears already in his eyes.
“Oh, Phee, I’m sorry. It’s not your fault. You didn’t kill him.” Jin finally moved close again, pulling the other into a hug. He knew how close the two had been even if it seemed like the past few months had been nothing but a lie.
“I know but I feel like it is. I just wanted to get Non back, tell him I was sorry for everything I said. For him to be okay again. He already lost his parents and now his brother is gone. He has no one anymore.” Phee's voice was breaking more as he held onto his boyfriend.
Even Jin was quiet for a moment as he seemed to process and take in everything Phee had been telling him. The last thing is finally slipping into place. “Non… Non is alive? Phee, Non is alive?”
Phee nodded, pulling back to wipe his face, head tilting to the other side of the room that was closed off. “He hasn’t woken up yet. He is really sick and hurt. The doctors said we were even lucky to find him alive.” He watched as Jin slipped off the bed and opened the curtain. Hearing the breath he took seeing Non in the bed.
Non still looked too skinny, face sunken in and bruises there. The IVs and oxygen mask helping him breathe and heal. “They said he would wake up, just not sure when yet. But we saved him. White helped us a lot.”
Jin nodded looking between the two beds. “Wh-what happens now? People are going to find out soon. Tee and them will know soon.”
Phee shook his head. “No, Papa is going to keep out the part where Non was found, and New died from the public. It’s safer that way since he has no family and there is still so much to figure out. When he wakes up and can leave he will come home with me.”
“And after that? He just hides forever?”
“No, we will figure out school and his life later but first... First is going to be revenge. Because those boys, these four don’t deserve to live after what they did to him.”
“Phee? Phee what do you mean?” Jin asked his boyfriend, not liking the look that was forming in his boyfriend’s eyes.
“You don’t have to be involved, darling. Not at all and I’m going to see if White wants to help. But they are going to suffer and die. I’m going to kill them all. Non will probably help, he already had the plan once.”
“Are you sure that’s a smart idea? I mean Tee’s uncle is the mafia and Por’s father…”
Phee shrugged some. “Tee’s uncle is dead, so don't worry about him. And Por’s family won’t know. Not if enough of us work together to help. I know you like him, Jin. I could see the look in your eyes whenever we asked about Non. I can tell you were mad about something.”
Jin nodded, shoulders dropping like he was finally accepting something. “What they did was wrong and I hate myself everyday that I let Tee take him from the house that night and never said anything.”
“And we don’t blame you. You were scared, didn’t know what to do, but now you can help. Make up for what you did.”
“Are you sure this is the best plan? Why not just turn them over to the police?”
“Because as much as I love my father, it won’t go anywhere because of Por’s family. No, we have to handle ourselves.’ Phee snarled. “ They won’t get away with anything again.”
Jin knew that Phee was right. He hadn’t stood up the first time, letting the others just bully Non, hurt him and so many other things. And now the boy was laying in a hospital bed half dead after he had been missing for over six months. He couldn’t stand by anymore and let more bad things happen.
“Okay, what do we do first?” He asked, sitting back with Phee
