OMORI AU
Aubrey looked on at Sunny in the hospital bed, he looked peaceful, she gently brushed some of his hair out of his face, she had to admit she missed seeing his face, but his face looked pale now, and thin, she could see his cheek bones from his sunken in cheeks.
'Im sorry Sunny, you didn't deserve this... please... wake up soon'
was All Aubrey though about, she hoped he would wake up soon but in his current state, she could see it, no matter how much she wanted to deny it get angry again scream at the doctors to help him, she knew she could see another funeral coming, one were the sun forever would go down with and never rise again.
Suddenly the door opened as a woman with orange red gair came in, Aubrey knew this woman and it made her blood boil, why would she be here, she used to look up to her but now, she just sees her own mother, neglectful.
"Oh god, Sunny dear my baby!"
Sunny's mother rushed over to the other side of the bed and look at Sunny's sleeping form, she didn't even acknowledge Aubrey as she just leaned down over the bed near Sunny gently cupping one of his cheeks, there was no response from Sunny though, he was silent.
"What happened?"
Sunny's Mother asked without looking at Aubrey, 'oh so now you acknowledge me?' Aubrey took a deep breath finding a way to respond, would she tell the truth? she would probably be instantly send out of the hospital room and probably even be charged by her with atempt murder.
"An accident."
She didn't like to lie about what she had done, but what else could she say that wouldn't get her in trouble? She didn't want to stop seeing Sunny, she didn't want to lose any more friends or be known as the girl that killed somebody, she just wanted to be happy.
"What kind of accident?"
Sunny's mother was now staring at her, It was unclear what type of glare she was giving her as it looked like a mix of anger and 'I don't buy that bullshit' and concern.
"We were.... at the park, Sunny had come outside with Kel and... uhm... he got hit in the back of the head and colapsed... a stray ball was kicked and it accidently hit Sunny in the back of the head..."
'I hope that sounds believable enough, it wasn't exactly the truth since that ball was actually a bat with nails but minor details she doens't need to know about.'
Aubrey was in deep in thoughts thinking to herself as Sunny's mother let's out a soft sigh and bought the excuse, she could tell something happened but she wanted to worry about her only child for now, Aubrey wished Hero or even Kel was here right now, hell she would even want Basil by her side.
Then her thoughts stopped, Basil, were was he anyways? he just ran off... he saw everything, She knew Basil he would clearly not do anything to her directly but then again Sunny was his best friend, what if he told his caretaker or what if he called the cops himself.
She could feel sweat slowly going down her neck from the thought, the fear slowly sinking in, she felt afraid Basil would tell everything of what she had done, and she found herself not even being able to blame him for doing so.
The door suddenly opened again as Kel slowly walked in, and looked towards Aubrey then the woman at the other side of the bed who he realized was Sunny's Mother.
"Oh, hello mrs.Suzuki, it's nice to see you again..."
Kel rubbed his neck awkwardly while looking away slighty as she didn't respond but just took a quick glance at Kel before looking back at Sunny.
"Kel, what happened? I heard it already from Aubrey but I want to hear it from you"
Aubrey tensed up slightly, Kel didn't know what she told, and Kel the two good shoed person he is would spill the beans imidatly, She looked towards Kel as he looked at her, he could see the fear and tension on her face, Kel took a deep breath.
"an Accident happened in the park"
Aubrey deflated in relieve. 'Thank god, Kel for once you do something good' she thought to herself while relieve was still washing over her.
Kel slowly sat down next to Aubrey on another chair and looked at Sunny as well as guilt and regret crept over his face, he still blamed himself for this, he dragged Sunny out of the house he dragged him into that fight.
Aubrey gently elbowed him and shook her head as a sign of, 'this isn't your fault' He probably didn't get the message but atleast he wouldn't blame himself constantly anymore.
They both looked back at Sunny's sleeping form and just wished he would come back from this, they both knew Sunny and he wasn't somebody to just give up.
OMARI AU
Mari kept taking some glances toward's Sunny as he was using the broom to sweep some trash into a pile, a small smile crept up her face as she could see her little brother again, being active doing stuff just like before, like nothing ever happened.
She had noticed Thought that Sunny acted, weird around their father, he didn't really look at him or talk to him exept when father talked first, she remembered father was always strict on them especaily Sunny, she remembered how their father would always hold her over Sunny's head as a goal to reach her pefection.
She knew he regretted doing it, she regretted not doing more to stop him but that was in the past now, they had a new chance with Sunny and that was enough for her to be happy again.
Mari made her way over to Sunny and gently tapped his shoulder, Sunny then turned around and tilted his head to the side a bit waiting for her to ask something, she held in a soft giggle as it kinda reminded her of Mewo who would also tilt her head like that.
"Say little Brother, how about we go hang out a bit after we are done? we could maybe try finding Aubrey and go to the park like we used to? I could try... to make a picnic again..."
She quickly noticed Sunny's eye widen at her but it wasn't an excited face, it was like he was overcome with sudden fear, she turned to look behind her maybe something behind her spooked him or dad might got hurt but didn't let them know, there was nothing there.
Sunny stared at Mari aftering hearing the word hang, it was like a trigger being pulled of a gun as he watched Mari morph infront of him her hair becoming disheveled and crept over her face and body like a void absorbing everything while her right eye stared at him.
His breathing sped up as he just kept staring, if he could become anymore pale than he already was he would, he could feel the sweat dripping down his face as he was rooted to the ground SOMETHING TAUNTED YOU.
Before he could scream or run he felt two arms wrap around him and rub his back, he closed his eyes and took a deep breath as a voice told him to do so, he followed the breathing over the other person hugging him.
once he opened his eyes he saw Mari, his Sister hugging him telling him to calm down, he slowly hugged her back and rested his head on her shoulder, his heart still beating rapidly in his chest.
"S-sorry... didn't mean to scare you."
He softly spoke, Mari quickly shook her head and stepped back from the hug to look at him.
"No don't apologize, Im sorry if I said something wrong, i understand if you aren't comfortable to go outside or to the park, we can stay here if you want that"
Sunny tilted his head slightly at her again and shook his head.
"I would like a picnic..."
he felt a bit selfish for asking, like he didn't deserve a picnic with her, something told him he didn't deserve anything of this, but he pushed those feelings away for now.
"Well alright then, ill grab my old picnic suplies okay, we can clean the rest later."
Sunny responded with a nod as Mari stood up fully and left to the staircase upstairs, he followed her slightly standing in the door frame and looking up at Mari walking up the stairs, a sense of fear slowly crept up his spine telling him to turn around and don't go near her or the stairs.
So he did, he slowly backed away from the doorframe and away from the stairs and Mari and turned around to the living room, He looked at his father who was currently messing with the TV trying to get it working again, he walked over to the couch and sat down and waited for Mari to be done.
She looked around upstairs in their room, but couldn't find her picnic basket anywere, she then remembered she most likely put it in their parent's bedroom, she left the room and walked towards her father's bedroom and slowly pushed open the door.
she quickly noticed her Picnic basket with blanket standing at the side of the bed she quickly walked over to it and picked it up, she noticed it was a bit dusty and had a bit of wear and tear but that was fine it was still usable.
As she started to walk out of the room, she felt like she was being watched and looked around the room a bit confused, she shrugged it off as nothing and left the room back downstairs.
Sunny was sitting on the couch watching their father a bit awkwardly fix the tv, she walked over to the back of the couch and tapped his shoulder, he looked over his shoulder at her and then quickly stood up and then walked towards the Kitchen.
he probably wanted to choose what for snacks and food they would bring, but there was a slight problem, she hasn't bought anything yet and the only thing she had was cornflakes and milk she believed.
Sunny opened the Refrigerator as his face quickly went from stoic to disappointed and closed it.
"Sorry Little brother, I can buy some stuff for the picnic while you wait at the park if you want."
Sunny thought about it, he slowly nodded, he didn't like to be left alone especaily by Mari but she would just be a few meters away in the store so he could wait, He noticed their dad walk over to them and gave Mari his credit card.
"o-oh, thanks dad but I still have money from what you send me, y-you really don't have to."
He simply shook his head and adjusted his glasses as he handed her the credit card.
"Just use it."
Was all he said before going back to the TV getting a bit frustrated on why the thing wouldn't work again, it wasn't even damaged or flithy, Mari gently took Sunny's hand with her free hand and moved towards the door.
"Lets go little brother, before he explodeds."
she giggled a bit at the thought of their father exploding about the tv not wanting to function, she had unplugged the tv a while ago and was curious how long it would take their father to realize he just needed to plug it back in.
She opened the door and let Sunny exit first while still holding onto his hand, she then closed the door behind them, they quickly began their walk as Mari tried to make a bit of small talk with her little brother, he didn't respond much besides some nods and head shakes.
"So little brother, what would you like me to get you from the store?"
Sunny looked at her and thought about it, he didn't respond for a while as they were already standing at the park entrance, Mari was looking at him patiently waiting.
'Can stake be put on a sandwich?'
Sunny thought to himself, but quickly trew away the idea and thought about something else, what else did he like.
"Strawberry jam please."
he requested as Mari nodded in response and walked with him into the park, looking around for a good spot, Aubrey wasn't sitting on the swings anymore, she probably left after a while to do her own thing.
"Should we go to the old hangout spot?"
Mari turned towards Sunny with a confused look, she thought about it trying to remember, but once she did she saw the image of Sunny nearly drowning after he fell off the statue, she didn't allow him near any body of water for a week or in the hangout spot ever again.
She was about to deny the idea of going there, but stopped as she didn't want to push Sunny away from the things he liked again, she took a deep breath.
"Fine we can go there, but promise me please to not go near the water."
Sunny responded with a simple thumb up and continued walking, Mari quickly behind him, as Sunny looked over his shoulder he slowed down slightly for Mari to keep pase with him, he forgot about her bad knee.
Mari smiled as he walked slower, She sped up a bit more to walk next to him again and gently grabbed his hand and holds it.
"Say little brother, Ill go and see if I can find Aubrey maybe while im at the store and invite her if you like that."
She looked at Sunny who nodded, she felt her smile becoming wider and turn into a smug smile, She was curious if Sunny still had feelings for Aubrey, maybe if things will be normal again she could tease him with it she would have so much ammunition with it.
As the walk through the secret path, Mari noticed a few block signs, she was about to Stop Sunny and tell him they couldn't go there anymore clearly but he had let go of her hand and just walked past the block signs.
She tensed up slightly on how her Little brother just ignored them, did he do this alot when he was out there alone probably on the streets? she couldn't imagine her little brother breaking the law let alone do these things for fun.
Mari slowly followed until the reached the secret hangout spot, Sunny scanned the suroundings, he noticed a bunch of flowers being planted near the water which confused him, it was his flower basil gave him, a tulip.
there were a bunch of them there, he ignored them though as Mari requested him not to go near the water, so he wouldn't he then walked over to the corner of the hangout spot and pointed at the spot they used to sit at before.
Mari placed down the blanket and basket, and sat down to rest her legs for a few seconds as Sunny sat down next to her, she still found it hard to believe that Sunny was here again, sitting next to her acting like he always did like nothing ever happened.
"Okay Sunny, Ill go to the store, just stay here okay, uhm.... don't talk to stranger and don't follow anybody if they ask you to alright." She wasn't sure but she felt like she had to remind him of stranger danger.
She felt it was a bit childish for him but she just wanted to be sure her Brother stayed right here at the hangout spot.
Sunny nodded with a thumb up and waved as Mari left, he pulled his legs to his chest and let out a sigh and looked around the hangout spot before laying down on his back and staring into the sky at the clouds, he felt relaxed after a long while.
he wasn't sure how much time had passed already maybe seconds or minutes, probably a few minutes but he felt a shadow creep over his face as he looked up at somebody standing over him, he couldn't see their face as it was blocked by the tiny bit of sun still shinning into his eyes.
