Chen Yi Goes To Korea

Summary:

Chen Yi is called to Korea on business during their birthday, and Ai Di nearly burns the entire nation to the ground. They compromise and Ai Di joins his boyfriend a day later. His fury over being sent back home after only a day is soothed by the gift that Chen Yi brings back home with him. There are also a few dinner guests

This was 100% influenced by that photo of Bowen, Fort, and Kohei in Korea back in Feb and I'm just slow on the uptake.

Notes:

Please ignore any inconsistencies, I have rewritten this so many times, and I am very sleep deprived.

Work Text:

A string of loud curses echoed through the entire garage, sending several of the henchmen scrambling to find anywhere else to be.

No one wanted to face Ai Di’s wrath. Especially when Chen Yi wasn’t around to calm him; or at least take the brunt of said wrath.

Ai Di would rather spend his whole day at Rui’s office, in a suit and acting like a professional than admit that his violent mood was in fact due to Chen Yi not being there, but it wasn’t lost on anyone that the two things coincided.

Jie released a resigned sigh when he heard fabric ripping from behind the closed door that he stood next to. He had brought the tiny man back home a few hours earlier and was very aware that if it were anyone other than himself or possibly Bai Zhong Yi, they would be dead. His fear of Ai Di had faded with prolonged exposure, but Jie still knew better than to think he was ever completely safe around the man who had no attachment to reality or morals beyond what he created for himself.

Ai Di hadn’t even reached the bottom of the jet stairs before he was snarling in anger at the man unloading his luggage. Barking about his Yves St Laurent bags requiring proper   handling.

Jie nearly had to save the life of the kid who had brought the car for them when he noticed the white pillow tucked in the Alexander McQueen bag slung over his shoulder. Ai Di had slept curled against that pillow for the flight back home and must have been too tired and angry to turn it around to hide the image emblazoned on the front.

“How dare he send me back home? As if I were just some bobblehead bitch to hang on his arm at his whim.” Ai Di had scoffed, glaring out the window as the car pulled away from the small airport. “He didn’t even let me leave the hotel other than to the airport.”

Jie wanted to remind him that Chen Yi had his reasons, that the boss was concerned about his boyfriend’s safety, but he didn’t really have being forced to swerve into oncoming traffic in his schedule any time soon.

Ai Di had been suspiciously quiet for some time once he arrived home and locked himself in Chen Yi’s room. Although he slept there the majority of his time, he still kept his own room, using it as a means to punish Chen Yi by choosing his own bed, rather than sleeping in the warmth of each other’s bodies. And although Chen Yi would never allow something as simple as a locked door to keep him away from the only person he actually loved, he would always respect the boundary of Ai Di needing the privacy of his room. If he went to whine to Bai Zong Yi, he would get dragged back home over Chen Yi’s shoulder, kicking and yelling the whole time, same with when he went to the bar to vent his fury by drinking and dancing. But the bedroom was sacred. The only place that he could go that Chen Yi understood meant that Ai Di needed to be alone.

But without Chen Yi in the building, let alone even the country, Ai Di needed the comfort of their shared bed, and the scent of his partner that lingered in the fabric.

He still wore his birthday outfit; which had been completely wasted with only four other people at their dinner. At least the Japanese man that was there without his partner had made their own relationship seem as healthy as the others’ by comparison.

Ai Di had had many run-ins with Pakin, so it made sense to him that he would send a trusted lieutenant to meet with Chen Yi, but the narrow Japanese man who was apparently a news presenter of some sort was a mystery to his importance in being there. Especially at their birthday dinner.

*****

Ai Di had sulked for a week when Chen Yi had told him that he wasn’t able to change his trip to Korea to spend their birthday at home. But he had arranged to have Ai Di fly in for the day, unwilling to break their promise for a single year for the rest of their lives.

He had taken a flight to Korea the day after Chen Yi, late at night. A car had picked him and Jie up at the plane and taken them directly to the hotel. Ai Di had stormed through the door, pausing in his path long enough to grab his boyfriend by his belt loops to drag him to the bedroom and throw him down.

It was around 5 in the morning when Chen Yi insisted they sleep, holding his boyfriend to his chest and tucking the covers over them. Ai Di woke up still pouting, but he settled against the hard body in front of him, pushing his head into his chest and breathing deeply. Chen Yi, always attuned to Ai Di, woke within moments, holding him a little closer and kissing the top of his bright golden hair.

“I love you.” Chen Yi murmured. “Happy Birthday.”

Ai Di tilted his head and without a word, started sucking marks against the skin of his man’s neck and chest. His hands traveled, tapping along the lines of his hard-earned muscle until they stopped at where their hips were lined together.

“You’re being a brat, tiny boy.” Chen Yi scolded.

“No. I’m being a birthday boy who wants to give the other birthday boy a present.” AI Di drawled and sunk his teeth in Chen Yi’s chest.

He was nearly dizzy with the speed at which Chen Yi flipped him on his stomach and pinned him down.

“Be patient. Let me give you your first gift before I ruin you.”

Ai Di jabbed an elbow upward without any real target and rolled to sit at the edge of the bed while Chen Yi went to one of his bags.

He came back to sit next to Ai Di and presented him with a brushed metal box. The younger man eyed him suspiciously as he lifted the lid, but released a barely audible gasp when he saw what was inside.

He had been gifted a custom-made birthday-themed collar. Hand-tatted white lace, delicate gold chains strung down, and tiny, glittering gems studded throughout to imitate sprinkles on a cake.

Ai Di blushed when Chen Yi reached behind him to latch the collar around his throat.

“Mine.” Chen Yi had whispered, his fingers gliding over the skin underneath. His eyes lingered on the prominent collarbones below before coming up to look directly into each other’s eyes. He leaned forward to give Ai DI a soft, affectionate kiss, keeping his eyes open to watch the pretty man; happy because of Chen Yi.

Ai Di soon grew impatient and swung to straddle his boyfriend and deepened the kiss.

“Slow down. Let me take my time with you. Please?”

Ai Di froze. That was a word that Chen Yi had reserved only for him. And even then it was rare for him to use it. Ai Di hated that it worked every single time, and he hated it even more that Chen Yi knew that and would use it as a weapon.

Ai Di let his body relax, tilting backward, not even sparing a thought to the trust he had that Chen Yi would never allow him to fall.

Those long arms cradled him and they turned so that Ai DI was laid out on his back, looking up at the image he had fantasized about since he was a teenager.

His arms were dragged above his head, stretched up, and guided to grip the headboard. Ai DI playfully snapped his teeth when he realized what was about to happen.

Chen Yi artfully wrapped the ruby red silk around Ai Di’s wrists, giving a quick tug when he was finished to check his work.

Once he had done that, he began the work of trailing worshipful kisses across every inch of Ai DI’s skin. Starting from his fingertips, where he kissed each one, then down the knuckles of each digit, across his palms, down his arms.

“This is worse than torture.” Ai DI whined, though it came out more as a moan while Chen Yi licked from below his ear to his jawline.

“I’m going to make up for every minute that we have spent apart on our birthday.” His mouth continued its path across Ai Di’s sensitive throat. His tongue hooked below the collar, tugging on it just a little bit and relished the pitched-up moan that was made in reaction to the motion.

He took extra time to lick and nip across the frame of his collarbones, his own moans joining the frustrated cries of pleasure.

By the time he finally made his way to Ai Di’s narrow hips, the fiery man looked as if he were ready for bloodshed. Chen Yi simply smirked when they made eye contact and dipped his head again to catch the waistband of his panties in his teeth.

Ai DI shouted when Chen Yi let go of the fabric and moved to trail kisses down his thighs.

When Chen Yi finished his task and came back up to capture Ai DI’s mouth, his victim was crying. Tears of need and frustration stained his face and Chen Yi couldn’t help but to lick the salty tracks away.

“I will spend the rest of my life making up for how much I hurt you.” To show his words were true, he kissed Ai DI again, letting the blonde control it.

When they were panting, out of breath, Chen Yi traveled back down Ai Di’s body, much more quickly this time. The panties were removed with haste, and a small bottle appeared from the pocket of Chen Yi’s sweatpants.

Ai Di automatically pulled his legs back, lifting his ass just slightly while Chen Yi spread the lube over his fingers.

With his clean hand, he took a pillow to wedge underneath Ai Di and then squeezed a little more gel directly between his cheeks.

AI DI made a sound of relief when Chen Yi’s middle finger brushed over his hole. He circled around, teasing.

“Chen Yi. You will regret this when I am untied.”

“I will never regret any moment that I get to spend with you.”

“When did you turn into a sap? Just throw me around and fill me up.”

“Be patient for once. If you just let me do what I want, then you might actually like it.”

“Well get on with it then.”

“I can get a gag if you want to keep complaining.”

Ai Di responded by snapping his teeth again.

“You asked for it, then.” Chen Yi told him with a shrug. He swung off the bed and went back to his luggage, returning with a silk-strapped gag.

Ai Di put up a half-hearted fight, but Chen Yi easily overpowered him, straddling his chest and holding him still between his thighs.

“I’ll tie your legs next if you keep it up.”

The glare he got had enough venom in it to take down a leopard but he did allow his body to settle back against the pillows.

Chen Yi crawled back down to rest near Ai Di’s knees and resumed laying kisses across his body, this time with no pattern or reason.

After a bit, his fingers came back to drag between Ai Di’s cheeks, teasing with just the smallest pressure at his hole.

“I did fuck you all night.” Chen Yi said, more contemplating to himself than reminding Ai Di of the previous night’s. “Should I just fill you up like this, or should I get you all stretched out and loose for me?”

Ai Di made muffled grunting sounds that Chen Yi chose to believe were an encouragement to take as much time as he wanted.

He received more encouragement when he ever so slowly sunk a single finger past the somehow still-tight ring of muscle.

Chen Yi smiled when his boyfriend tried to lift his hips. He always wanted punishments in bed, but when it came to it, this was actual torture for him.

It was several minutes before he was three fingers in, but was losing patience himself. He shifted on his knees to kiss the corners of Ai Di’s mouth and brushed away the drool with his thumbs.

“Will you be a good boy for me if I take this off? I want to kiss my boyfriend on our birthday.”

Ai DI released a heavy breath from his nose but gave a quick nod of agreement. Chen Yi pulled it off and immediately covered Ai DI’s mouth with his own. He held Ai DI’s head in his large hand, using his thumb to caress his cheek.

With his free hand, he lined himself up and sunk inside of the tiny body.

Ai Di’s face tensed in pleasure. Every time, he was stunned that Chen Yi had finally chosen him. That this man that he had devoted his life to, in every sense, since he was a child, not only looked back at him but was just as devoted.

Chen Yi’s kiss was slow and passionate, using the action to convey every bit of yearning and guilt he had felt during those four years they had spent apart. Chen Yi rocked, and Ai Di was too overwhelmed with the love Chen Yi was flooding him with to consider misbehaving.

He didn’t even notice when Chen Yi had untied his hands, but at some point, he became aware that his fingers were entwined in his hair. Ai Di dragged his fingers down Chen Yi’s neck and across his back, letting his nails mark the skin in time with his blissful cries.

Chen Yi sat back on his heels and hitched Ai Di’s body closer to him, letting his lower back rest against his thighs. Chen Yi’s hands massaged Ai Di’s narrow waist, teased at his nipples, traced over his collarbones.

Ai Di was whimpering, already losing his mind from everything his boyfriend was doing to him. Chen Yi rolled into Ai DI, pinpointing his prostate with practiced ease and targeting the spot without mercy.

Ai Di’s stomach was heaving with the effort of not thrashing around on the bed. When he covered his face with his arms, Chen Yi grabbed them and placed the delicate hands on his thighs, squeezing them in a non-verbal command to grip onto him.

Ai DI was openly crying, unable to form the words to ask for a kiss. His body felt like he was about to rip open at any moment.

“Let go for me, baby.” Chen Yi breathlessly instructed.

Ai DI obeyed, dropping the tension from his body. He nearly screamed, Chen Yi increased the force of his thrusts and Ai Di’s cock jumped. He felt heat wash over his entire body, his skin felt like it was sparkling.

Ai Di’s hands gripped tight, enough that Chen Yi would be bruised, and a thin liquid spilled from his dick. Chen Yi swore and watched in awe as Ai Di’s torso was covered, his tiny belly button flooded. The image, the pride of being the cause, was too much for Chen Yi and he came immediately. Hard.

He fell to the side, gathering Ai Di to his chest, an endless string of praises falling from his lips against Ai Di’s forehead.

When his legs stopped shaking, Chen Yi got up to start running the bath, adding powders and oils to the water in a way that he had learned through careful study to make his partner happiest.

He lit a few candles and dimmed the lights in the room before coming back to the bed to lift Ai Di and carry him to the tub.

After an indulgent nap, Ai Di couldn’t keep the smile from his face while he got ready for dinner. The hotel they were staying at had several restaurants and Chen Yi had booked a private room at the most luxurious of them all.

Chen Yi sat at the desk, alternating between speaking on his phone and working on his computer, still undressed, hiding his amusement at Ai Di sweeping his eyes over his body when he thought he wasn’t looking. Unable to hide the amusement when the younger man would float over to sit in his lap to speak to whoever was on the phone about his own business with them. Chen Yi watched from the corner of his eye at his boyfriend carefully styling his hair to his typical ‘just rolled from bed’ and brushed smudgy liner around his eyes.

He disappeared to the bathroom to dress and emerged several minutes later. He wore an oversized, billowy blouse, draped with ribbons. His shorts were tight and barely hit the middle of his thighs, though the gold satin half-skirt that crossed over low on his hips and fell over his ass reached almost to the ground.

His ears sparkled with cascading chains and jewels and on his neck was the collar that Chen Yi had gifted him that morning.

Chen Yi closed his laptop and blatantly stared at his boyfriend, the hunger in his gaze nearly palpable. The mischievous imp caught the hem of his blouse with his fingertips and slowly dragged it up his body, showing just a small peak of his toned tummy, giving a hint at the hickeys that had formed on the delicate skin.

Chen Yi lunged, hands out, ready to maul the man, but received a kick to the center of his chest. He coughed lightly and stood back up, glaring down at Ai Di bent over with laughter.

“Get dressed. We’re already going to be late.” He scolded and dabbed at his eyes to fix his liner.

Ai DI scrolled through Instagram while he waited, occasionally glancing up to watch the much simpler process of Chen Yi shoving some wax through his hair and pulling on his suit. Ai Di had chosen a structured black jacket with gold lapels, cut in just a way that if he stretched in a certain way, the fabric would reveal the vicious scar on his torso.

When he was ready, he sauntered back to the bed, holding a hand out and tugging Ai Di against himself. He wrapped his arm around his back easily reaching around to the full expanse of his waist and holding tight. He stole a breathtaking kiss before releasing him once again and guiding him out of the room.

An employee walked them through the main floor and held the door to their private room open. Ai Di’s incredible mood immediately crashed to the ground. At the ornate table, there were already four men sitting down. There was a man he vaguely recognized from Xia’s circle, but past that, he knew nothing about the sullen man staring out the window. He knew one of them as Prapai, someone from the Thai maifa, in Pakin’s inner circle. The man sipping wine next to him would be his partner, the man he called his wife. Ai Di decided that maybe they could get along based on the way the man looked beyond annoyed at the silly attentions of his partner.

While the elder part of the couple was continually leaning over to sneak kisses in the Thai style or attempt to feed the younger man, the other was speaking with a pretty Korean man, one that Ai Di had seen in the news after a massive Thai conglomerate was exposed for trafficking.

Ai Di was immediately on alert, wary of these men that he was only familiar with one of, but based on the relaxed nature of his own partner as they entered the room, he only needed to be the usual amount of on guard around him. Ai Di brushed his against Chen Yi’s sides as he took his seat, using the seductive touch to check the weapons strapped under his clothing.

The dinner was delicious. The courses were served with elaborate plating, and everything tasted perfect. But Ai Di was too grumpy to care about any of it. The men spoke of more casual matters, the man called Sky skillfully redirecting the conversation any time they started speaking about business.

The man called Segasaki briefly told them all about his partner, an artist who he kept all but locked up in their house. Ai Di thought that his relationship could be a little toxic, and they were definitely overly co-dependent, but if Ai Di had been in the place of the boyfriend, this man would be long dead.

The only thing that kept Ai Di from verbally stabbing this man was Chen Yi hanging an arm over his shoulders and absently toying with the collar.

Ai Di decided that he liked Kim. He was a racer, hired to a team in Thailand, where he was pulled into the mafia after some chaotic spiral of events. His natural state seemed to be grumpy and judging, but when he spoke of his partners, it was with stars in his eyes. He pulled out his phone to show the group photos of his beaming boyfriend next to a carved sculpture, with their other boyfriend, the one who had done the carving, shyly smiling in his arms.

After the last course cleared, the lights in the room dimmed and a server came in with a beautifully decorated cake, topped with candles marking each of their ages.

“Happy birthday, my love.” Chen Yi whispered gently in Ai Di’s ear and nipped at his lobe quickly before sitting back and gesturing for them to blow out the candles together.

The others wished them both a happy birthday when the lights came back up and the Thai couple teasingly cheered for them to kiss, to which Chen Yi obliged with a wide grin.

Chen Yi held Ai DI back when the others left, staying in his chair while exchanging goodbyes.

“I want to go to North Seoul Tower.” Ai Di announced as he walked to the window to gaze out the window at the skyline. His tone was the usual bored drawl, but Chen Yi could hear the eagerness underneath.

“Ai Di.” He called his attention back. “Jie has already brought your bags to the car. Your flight leaves soon.”

As if anticipating the tantrum, Chen Yi swiftly rose from his seat and wrapped his arms around Ai Di, spinning him around and crowding him in a corner.

“I promise I will take you back here another time, and we can go wherever you want, but right now, I need you back home.”

“You need me by your side. You can’t do this.”

“I can. Enough is happening at home that you need to take care of, and I don’t want some of the people here to know about you. You are my secret weapon.”

“That’s a shitty excuse and you know-”

The rest of Ai Di’s sentence was cut off by a deep kiss. Ai Di curled his lips, about to bite and kick, but Chen Yi’s hands were under his ass and lifting him before he could.

Chen Yi bounced Ai Di upward to balance him on one arm, the other came around to tease at his nipples through his loose blouse. He paused and pulled back to look at Ai Di with an amused and lustful smile.

“Is this why you hid from me while you got dressed?” He asked while he traced the line of the bralette.

“This and maybe another birthday gift.”

Chen Yi bit at his bottom lip and dropped him back to his feet.

“Take off your shorts and bend over that table.” He commanded.

Ai Di deliberated for a moment whether or not he wanted to obey. In the end, he did, but with his own alteration. Slipped the fabric over his small hips and left them on the floor and swayed his hips on his way to the table, bringing attention to his black lace panties.

He lied down on his back, lifting his legs to rest his feet at the edge of the table. Chen Yi was on him in a moment, bending over for another breathtaking kiss. He worked open the buttons to open Ai Di’s shirt and his mouth traveled a path down to Ai Di’s chest. He slid the lace to the side for his mouth to encircle Ai Di’s nipple, gently sucking and nibbling.

He switched to the other side and his hands moved lower to slip the panties down the slim legs.

Chen Yi pushed Ai Di’s legs wider and he quickly found his other gift. Nestled between his cheeks, Chen Yi felt a flat disc. He lightly tugged on it and Ai Di couldn’t contain his moan. Chen Yi tested the size with small twists and pulls and found that it was one of the more middle-of-the-line plugs that Ai Di had.

He pulled it out and let it drop to the floor, mentally noting to make sure to pick it up before they left so that some poor server didn’t have to deal with it later.

Chen Yi swiftly filled the void left. They had fucked so much in the last twenty-four hours, but it was never enough for either of them. Chen Yi had years to make up for, and he would be happy to continue making up for that until he was incapable of doing so.

He pulled at Ai Di’s arms, encouraging him to cling to Chen Yi’s body. When the small man was wrapped around him, Chen Yi rose back up, pausing to stabilize his legs, and lifted Ai Di. He groaned at the change in the angle, the grip on his cock getting tighter.

He walked them over to the floor-to-ceiling windows, pressed Ai Di’s body against the glass, and used the support to help him grind hard inside of his boyfriend.

Ai Di sucked marks on his neck, his mouth desperate with the movement and the muffled moans.

Chen Yi lowered Ai Di, helping him stand on his own feet, and turned him around. He crowded his body against the glass, smirking at the hitched breath when Ai Di looked out over the city. Chen Yi lifted one of his legs, looping it over his forearm, and swiftly fucked back into him.

Chen Yi moved fast and deep, working himself up, panting against the back of Ai Di’s head. He muttered a declaration of love and bit down on Ai Di’s shoulder as he came. After as many times as he already had, it wasn’t particularly strong, but he still felt dizzy.

Ai Di was shaking in his arms, all of his weight being supported between the window and Chen Yi. They slid to the floor, simply staring at each other while they caught their breath.

“I’m sorry.” Chen Yi whispered. “If I could, I would take you around the entire city, but I already pissed off a few people just by refusing to meet with anyone today.”

Ai Di’s face scrunched up in anger. He huffed a breath and rolled over, storming around the room to gather his clothing and dress again.

“You did meet with those four, though.” He snapped. “And didn’t even bother to tell me about it.”

He punctuated his anger by throwing Chen Yi’s pants at him.

“Where is Jei?” Ai Di demanded, already with his hand on the door.

“He’s waiting in the room. He’ll take you back home, and I’ll be back in a few days.”

“We’ll see if I even let you have a home when you come back.”

With a last glare, Ai Di left, ignoring the employees who spoke and bowed to him. He didn’t stop until he reached the room next to the one he had spent most of the day in. He didn’t bother to knock, simply shouted for Jie, who opened the door immediately, bags already in hand.

The car was waiting for them in the parking garage, already running. Jie knew better than to say anything with his boss fuming in the seat next to him, but Ai Di caught him more than once opening his mouth to try to say something to soothe him.

The private jet had a secluded bed and Ai Di immediately disappeared behind the partition and Jie didn’t see him again until they landed.

On the drive back home, Ai Di pulled out his tablet, distracting himself by catching up on reports from their men.

The few that were hanging around at the factory cleared out quickly when they heard the force of the door slamming, but Jie dutifully followed after Ai Di, taking up his station outside of the bedroom door. A few of the men braved coming back to speak to Jie, though quickly bolted away when they heard Ai Di’s shouted curses and objects crashing from behind the door.

An hour or so later, the fit of anger calmed, and Jie risked peaking in the door.

Sure enough, his boss was sprawled across the bed, his face buried in the pillow that had been slashed open across the face of Chen Yi. Jie would never say it out loud, but the child-sized man also tired himself out after a tantrum like a child.

**********

The next three days followed in much the same pattern. Ai Di would emerge from the room, start barking orders at anyone in his sight, and make calls to do nothing more than yell at people. Jie had to call Chen Yi to intervene when Ai Di kidnapped a random runner from a rival gang and started rubbing Sichuan oil in the cuts he made on the poor man’s arms.

Ai Di looked down at the watch he wore, the message from Chen Yi on display, informing him that he would be bringing another birthday gift back with him. Ai Di hit the call button, didn’t bother with a greeting, just shouted for Chen Yi to go fuck himself in the Han River before throwing his phone to the other side of the warehouse and storming back into the room.

Ai Di once again found himself in their room, repeatedly stabbing the image of Chen Yi’s face, already nearly indistinguishable, stuffing spilling out everywhere.

His phone chimed, and he picked it up to see a photo of a smiling Chen Yi with the message of ‘miss you’.

His cries of anger and curses renewed, and they nearly drowned out the knock on the door. Ai Di tore the door open, knife already held up, ready to threaten Jie, but was met with a fresh pillow, being held before him by the man that matched it.

Ai Di swore he would set this whole place on fire to find where the stash of replacement pillows was kept, because sure enough, every single time Ai Di had destroyed one, Chen Yi was there with a new one.

He was quickly swept in the air, Chen Yi lifting him in a bridal carry and shutting him up with a kiss before he could even begin his tirade.

He was unceremoniously thrown on the bed, the pillow landing below him only a moment before he fell.

They were too busy devouring each other to notice that the door had been left wide open, and certainly unaware of Jie quietly closing it and ushering the men all out of the residential area before Ai Di’s screams came from an entirely different nature.

Chen Yi had his boyfriend nude within seconds, his hot mouth finding every faded mark on his body and renewing their prominence.

“Would you like your gift now?” Chen Yi asked breathlessly, his lips right against Ai Di’s ear.

Ai Di, who had temporarily paused his anger, nodded slowly.

“Take off my shirt.” Chen Yi instructed him.

He did so, but sat back up on his knees, working himself into a panic when he saw the large bandage covering the upper part of his back.

“Calm down.” Chen Yi teased, his dimples becoming deep with his amusement. “I wasn’t hurt. You can take it off.”

Ai Di moved on his knees for a better angle and gently started to peel the tape away. The first thing he saw was the black lines of ink were not the same as what he had sneered at since he was a young teenager.

Then he noticed that the new marks were fresh, still inflamed, just beginning to scab over.

The lions were now completely gone. There were bursts of colour across the expanse of his shoulder blades, telling the story of them. The lamp from their childhood bedroom, their first knives, gifted to them on their first birthday. There was a red costume cape surrounding a chocolate cake, the numbers of the candles obscured by smoke. There were small nods to their lives all over. Framing the piece were their dog tags, tangled together, and under that, in Ai Di’s own handwriting; ‘what’s mine, will always be mine.’

“You’re an ass.” Ai Di whined, slapping at the artwork. He took satisfaction in the small wince that Chen Yi allowed him to see. “How can I be angry with you when you show up with this shit?”

“Then my plan worked. You can’t be mad at me ever again.”

“You like it when I’m angry.”

“I do. But not when it’s aimed at me.”

When he turned, his dimples were deep, his eyes were bright as he looked at the man next to him.

“I love you, Ai Di. Nothing and no one will ever change that.” He leaned in for an all-consuming kiss, making his devotion as clear as he could.

Ai Di crawled into his lap, his hands pressed just below the fresh tattoo. He lifted slightly on his knees, letting Chen Yi enter him.

Ai Di rolled and twisted, the two clinging to each other, leaving kisses wherever they could reach. Ai Di would occasionally glance over Chen Yi’s shoulder to view the artwork, his eyes finding new touches every time.

Tears fell and landed on Chen Yi’s chest, his happiness too deep to contain.
