Fated (Fuck You)

Summary:

Everyone was living well, and were resting as much as they could after everything with the damned radish.

Of course, the God of Death seems to really like ruining their relaxation.

And while they may be confused, they relish in the fact that they aren't as confused as the other guys. Whoever the fuck these doppelgangers are.

TotCF and TBoaH reaction fic, because those are easy to write and I've aged out of my chatfic obsession! And I like this fandom and want to contribute really badly

Chapter 1: Chapter 1: Prologue

Notes:

Here are a few things you may need to know for the storyline!

- TotCF World: Character Name - They are referred to as group/timeline 2
TotCF Timeline: After Defeating White Star, they've all healed from their injuries. The Hunters have not yet arrived.
- TBoaH World: /Character Name/ - They are referred to as group/timeline 1 (I'm splitting from the norm here because I usually find it difficult to catch the asterisk.)
TBoaH Timeline: Before Clopeh arrives, but they've heard of him. This places them at roughly the same age group at TotCF.
- Each chapter will have the novel chapter title it corresponds with. This goes outside of my usual writing style, but don't worry! Each fic chapter will only cover one novel chapter. This is to help keep the timeline consistent without me using separate files to track progress.
- Please do not ask me to remove or add any characters, either. This is my story to tell, and I will tell it as I am comfortable doing so. Some characters I do not know. At all. I am writing my fic not just for you all, but also myself. I want these characters here.

Chapter Text

Quick Note: This first chapter is in 3rd Person based around Kim Rok Soo [OG! Cale Henituse]. All chapters after will be in Omniscient 3rd Person.

Alberu Crossman has experienced many things in his twenty-five years of life. Moreso in the past two years, but his point still stands.

  He’d seen and done a lot .

And yet, somehow, he’s never woken up in a strange room with himself staring back at him. He peers around the doppelganger, eyes trailing over people that look like his father and brothers, but he isn’t quite sure. He hears his father behind him, and sighs. He feels a headache coming on.

.

.

.

Choi Han, usually, didn’t have a hard time understanding situations. Maybe he was a bad actor, and according to Rosalyn he can be stupid, but he isn’t dumb .

He’s starting to doubt that, though, as someone that looks like a homeless version of himself points what's obviously a plastic blade at his face. His face contorts in confusion, looking at the toy blade and trying not to laugh. His own sword felt light on his waist, and he can assume pretty well that it’s probably been made into plastic as well. The only problem is, if this really is another version of him, why couldn’t he tell that the sword he was pointing angrily at his face was replaced?

.

.

.

  Kim Rok Soo was tired.

Yesterday, his  team had to deal with a low rank monster near the company building, and his niece mother had recently turned ten and was bouncing off the walls of their apartment in excitement.

So, safe to say, he was tired. And rather than being on his comfortable bed, he was sitting on a-–surprisingly soft and warm-–sofa. And beside him was his younger self, looking at Kim Rok Soo and the rest of the room with muted terror. The wine bottle in his hands seemingly forgotten.

Kim Rok Soo was tempted to steal it.

Unfortunately, before he could get the chance, there was a loud clap at the front of the room.

Kim Rok Soo recognized the God of Death instantly, though the several confused and hostile looks he was getting showed he was probably the only one who recognized the man.

Not that it mattered much to him. Well, it did, because he'd like to be home with his niece mother rather than wherever the fuck here was.

"Hello, denizens of- uh-" The man frowns, pulling a card from nowhere and staring at his confused. "Well, shit, I don't know what to call you guys. There's too many of you."

There's a scoff overhead, coming from what must be speakers on the ceiling. Most people seem... Terrified at the realization there's no one above them.

"Either way, welcome!" The god cheers. From the corner of his eye Rok Soo can spot both Cage's cringing. They must've recognized his voice. "You are all from two worlds, ones so intricately different yet intertwined that you could not exist without one-another!"

Cage--the happier one--leans over to him. "Sounds weirdly poetic from a bastard, eh?" She jokes in a whisper. He isn't sure if the comment is meant for him, or for, well, him. Either way, neither of them are who she thinks they are.

"You are here to 'react' to your diverging point." The god says, hand gesturing towards Kim Rok Soo and /Cale/. All eyes turn to the duo, and the younger red-head takes a large swig from his wine bottle. Oh, how Rok Soo wants to take it for himself. "Your larger differing factor is not present at the moment, as he will be... Uncooperative. And Angelina and I very much enjoy existing freely, so.."

Ah. Rok Soo looks at the ceiling, eye catching on one of the overhead speakers. The Sun God, if he remembers correctly. It's been a long while since he'd heard of her, or her church for that matter.

There's another clap, and when everyone turns to look back at the God of Death, he is gone. In his place, or rather now noticeable since he isn't in front of it, is a screen that spans the entire wall. The screen comes to life, and everyone in the room--except Rok Soo--gasps.

.

When I opened my eyes, I was inside a novel.

.

There were mumbles from the side of people that seemed... Younger, almost? Not literally, he doesn't think, but they seem less tired. Happier. He reasons that they must be Cale's group. Alberu and Choi Han seem rather uncomfortable where they sit, and the little dragon child shuffles closer towards the swordsman.

.

[The Birth of a Hero].

[The Birth of a Hero] is a novel focused on the adventures of the main character, Choi Han,--

.

There's another ripple of discontent from Cale's group. His group, or, he supposes, /Choi Han's/ group, also seem to be upset. /Choi Han/ himself seems to almost jolt from his seat. The man-child-guy was most probably offended at being called a character. Not that he actually was one, but Rok Soo wanted to get some sort of final laugh at the idiot, so he simply smiles to himself. The /Cale/ beside him takes another swig of his drink, and subconsciously settles closer to Kim Rok Soo. The man doesn't point it out.

.

--a high school boy who was transported to a different dimension from Earth, along with the birth of the numerous heroes of the continent.

I became a part of that novel as the trash of the Count’s family, the family that oversaw the territory where the first village that Choi Han visits is located.

.

There's a sigh from Ron and Deruth. Rok Soo can take a guess at what that's about.

.

The problem is that Choi Han becomes twisted after that village, and everyone in it, are destroyed by assassins.

The bigger problem is the fact that this stupid trash who I’ve become doesn’t know about what happened in the village and messes with Choi Han, only to get beaten to a pulp.

.

While /Choi Han's/ side doesn't seem to jump at the fact that /Choi Han/ beat /Cale/ up, Cale's side seems to go silent. He can see the wave of anger beginning to wash over them like the tide, and pulls /Cale/ further onto the couch with him. Might as well enjoy the show, eh? He feels the smaller red-head stiffen at the contact, but slowly melts before taking another long drink of his wine. Kim Rok Soo wonders if he's trying to get genuinely drunk for once.

.

“...This is going to be a problem.”

I feel like something serious has happened to me.

But it was worth trying to make this my new life.

.

Kim Rok Soo snorts. 'Something serious,' he says, like he didn't wake up in a completely different fucking body.

Notes:

This is a fanfiction work derived from an actual novel. None of the characters belong to me, but they are interpreted differently from canon. Do not expect the behaviors to align with your interpretations, because neither you nor I are the original author of Trash of the Count’s Family, nor are we the same person. I will do my best to adhere to canon barr obvious AU differences, but I am just a dumbass on ao3 with a major hyper fixation.

This fanfiction is only posted on AO3 under the author JustAJoke__JK, if found on any other sites or under any other names, please report it and let me know. <3
