Work Text:
The first thing he felt was a gentle caress on his cheek.
Wei Wuxian stirred in his sleep but not yet awakened. He simply leaned into the touch, pressing the hand into the pillow before he resumed his slumber. The hand remained there, and another hand caressed his hair this time.
"Wei Ying."
A soft but deep, timbre voice greeted his senses after the gentle touches. Wei Wuxian's eyebrows twitched, but his face remained the same. It was still too early for him to be awake according to his internal body clock anyway, so he stayed silent. Lan Wangji always woke up at Mao time, and had been trying to teach him to wake up at the same time as him and the rest of his clan ever since they started staying together. His intention was clear, but he had never once forcefully woke up Wei Wuxian for it. He always did it gently like what he was doing now; bending down to kiss the skin between Wei Wuxian's brows, down the slope of his nose, the tip, and his lips. The continuous gentle strokes of his hand that was brushing Wei Wuxian's long hair aside was doing the opposite of what he wanted; it was making Wei Wuxian even drowsier with sleep.
But of course he would never tell his husband that.
This continued for a long time. Wei Wuxian didn't even realise he had truly disconnected from his consciousness until he woke up again to Lan Wangji kissing the side of his neck.
"Mm." His voice croaked as he called for his husband's attention. "Lan Zhan?"
Lan Wangji raised his head up to meet his droopy eyes, still blinking blearily with sleep. He smiled dopily upon seeing his husband already dressed neatly, complete with his pretty headpieces adorning his hair.
"My Lan Zhan is all ready to go out, hm? Do you have things to attend to?"
"Mn."
"Then I'll wait for you here." He ran his fingers through his husband's soft, silky hair, and brought the ends to his lips, kissing them.
"Have breakfast with me."
Lan Wangji kissed his neck a few more times until Wei Wuxian was all giggles; his pretty sounds putting a fond smile on Lan Wangji's face.
"Okay, okay! I'll join you in a while, Hanguang-jun." Wei Wuxian teased, as he slowly got out of bed and made his way to the bathtub behind the wooden folding wall. The last thing he saw was Lan Wangji's longing face, reluctant to leave his husband behind before he heard the sound of soft footsteps padding across the room and the opening and closing of the doors as he settled in the warm water.
⁂
"Hah?!"
If it weren't for Lan Wangji's keen eyes and quick reflex, Wei Wuxian would have dropped the bowl of soup he was holding already.
"Go back to Yunmeng? Why is Zewu-jun suddenly telling me to go back to Yunmeng? I'm married to Lan Zhan. Cloud Recesses is my home." The exasperated sighs and chokes could be heard in the hall; all sect's seniors and disciples getting embarrassed on Wei Wuxian's behalf for his open declaration. Even Lan Qiren looked like he didn't wanna stay there any longer, his cheeks sporting a hue of red that if one didn't know any better would think he had taken a spicy beef broth instead of the Lan Clan's medicinal soup.
Lan Xichen, the ever graceful man, merely smiled gently as he set down his cup.
"Jiang Sect Leader, Jiang Cheng, had asked for you to come. He said that Lady Jin will be coming back to visit along with her husband and their son, and she wanted you to be there as well."
"Ahh." It made more sense after getting the explanation. Wei Wuxian had initially thought that the Lan Clan wanted to separate him from Lan Zhan and kicked him out of their place.
"Then I shall go back today! Hanguang-jun, what time are we going? It's easier and faster to travel with your sword, but I want to show you Lotus Pier's beauty so we'll go by sampans! What do you think?"
Lan Wangji looked at him with his lips set in a thin line. His gaze softened thrice the times from his usual impassive stare, and Wei Wuxian immediately knew something was off.
He whispered in a low voice, "Lan Zhan?"
"Wangji won't go back with you. He has important things to settle with me today." Lan Qiren huffed and stared at Wei Wuxian, as if daring him to fight back, to make him let Lan Wangji go on a few days trip back with him.
Wei Wuxian only managed to force out a choked laugh, smiling brightly instead. "Ah, I see, I see. Well, that's a bummer. I would love to show you all my favourite places again, but I guess you'll just have to wait!" He smiled at his husband but anyone who knew him could see that the smile didn't reach his eyes. Lan Wangji looked like he wanted to say something, but Wei Wuxian had already faced the front again and finished his bowl of soup.
He was walking back to Jingshi when Lan Xichen stopped him.
"Zewu-jun."
He bowed politely with his palm and fist raised together in front of him, while Lan Xichen nodded in return.
"Wei-gongzi. I hope you do not take shufu's words to heart."
"Rest assured! I know how he is already. It's just the way he talks to me, so I don't feel offended, don't worry." Wei Wuxian flashed the older man a smile. Lan Xichen nodded and continued.
"About Wangji, I will make sure the affairs that need to be settled will not take too much of his time. If he cannot make it to Yunmeng by tonight, I will make sure he leaves by tomorrow morning."
"Many thanks to you, Zewu-jun. But it's really fine if he can't make it. It's just a short trip anyway, I'll be back before you know it. I can take him to Yunmeng some other time in the future too." Wei Wuxian reassured him and left after there was nothing else to talk about.
Lan Xichen watched his retreating back move further away, before sensing another presence beside him.
Without taking his eyes off Wei Wuxian's back, he muttered, "Wangji."
"Xiong-zhang." They acknowledged each other and both stood straight and tall side by side. "I will get everything done by today and leave tonight."
Lan Xichen decided to say nothing and reply with a simple nod instead. He watched his younger brother walk away to follow Wei Wuxian, and shook his head lightly as a smile graced his face. He understood his brother well enough to know how his brother loathed being away from his husband, even for a few hours. So regardless of what he replied to Lan Wangji's statement earlier, he knew nothing could change his mind once he had set on it, especially if it concerned Wei Wuxian.
Meanwhile, in Jingshi, Wei Wuxian was busy thinking about what he wanted to bring back to Lotus Pier with him.
"Clothes? I still have a wardrobe full of new ones Jiang Cheng had bought for me…"
He sat by the edge of the bed and tilted his head. "Food? Shijie's lotus root soup is way better than any of the food that exists in this world… Oh! Gifts!" Wei Wuxian smiled to himself as he jumped onto his feet, crossing the wooden floorboard to stand in front of the full length mirror in the corner of the room to fix his robes.
"I'll get Jiang Cheng Gusu's Emperor's Smile, shijie a pretty hair ornament, Jin Ling… ah, I hope he won't bring Fairy with him– Lan Zhan!"
His husband entered the room gracefully; his robes fluttering behind him before he turned around to close the doors shut. Wei Wuxian welcomed him in his embrace, exchanging kisses as he melted against Lan Wangji's firm chest.
"Lan Zhan. Are there a lot of things that need to be settled today?"
A soft breath hit the shell of Wei Wuxian's ear, and he felt one hand pressing against his lower back. "Mn."
"Hmm. I wish you could come with me. We could have so much fun! You could try my favourite shijie's lotus root soup that I love so much and we could play around with the kids in the village! You could even watch me supervise those younger disciples if you want. I'm sure Jiang Cheng won't mind. Ahh, I'll miss you a lot when I leave later, Lan Zhan."
He sighed, leaning his weight against his husband who remained unperturbed by the additional weight. He held Wei Wuxian firmly in his arms for a while, before turning him around so he was facing the wall with the mirror on their sides.
"Lan Zhan?"
Lan Wangji didn't answer, only manhandling him into the position he wanted and it was not long before Wei Wuxian found himself with both hands against the wall, back arched, robes undone, and pants taken off to set aside. He was confused; although a part of him knew where this was heading, still he looked at his husband's reflection in the mirror and called out softly.
"Lan… Zhan?"
One big hand held his waist firmly while the other swiftly pushed his robe aside, revealing his naked lower half. Lan Wangji groped his asscheek and pulled it to the side for his eyes to feast on the pink puckered rim. It twitched, and Wei Wuxian couldn't bear seeing his husband staring at his exposed hole for so long through the mirror reflection so he hung his head down, cheeks flaming with heat. Who knew the shameless Wei Wuxian would be reduced into a shy, embarrassed man when it came to doing unholy things with his husband?
Rough hands squeezed his asscheeks apart, and gentle fingers rubbed against his hole.
"Lan Zhan. What– What are you– "
"Wei Ying." Lan Wangji pressed himself against Wei Wuxian's back, kissing his ear. The penetration was easy, his oiled up cock sliding in one thrust. Wei Wuxian gasped loudly, his cock chubbing up against his tummy underneath his inner robe as Lan Wangji remained unmoving, with his hot breaths hitting his cheek. "Lan Zhan, you can't– it's daytime, anyone c-can hear us– !"
Lan Wangji had pulled back halfway and thrusted back inside, cutting Wei Wuxian's words short. He wanted to close his legs together but Lan Wangji seemed to sense this as he immediately spread them apart with his knee, biting on the side of Wei Wuxian's neck right above his collar.
"Lan Zhan! People could see– ahh… " The drawn out moan escaped him without him wanting to, and he scrambled to cover his mouth as his husband started pounding him. Lan Wangji pushed Wei Wuxian's hand away to shove three fingers in his mouth, suppressing his noises.
"Let them see the mark on your neck," he breathed, the sound of skin slapping getting louder than Wei Wuxian's cries. "Let them see who owns this Yiling Laozu."
"Mmh!" Tears brimmed Wei Wuxian's eyes. His husband's pace was always brutal, unforgiving. He would have his way with Wei Wuxian every night, sometimes even forgoing sleep just to fuck his husband continuously to sate the burning hunger he has for the man. And Wei Wuxian would let him do as he pleased every single time; sometimes falling asleep mid sex after he had cummed more than once while some other time waking up to his husband filling his insides with copious amounts of cum, the room in total darkness.
No matter how he begged for mercy, the powerful Hanguang-jun just wouldn't spare him. Deep down he knew that Lan Wangji also knew that he loved this. He loved being taken forcefully without being able to escape, he loved being used wherever and whenever Lan Wangji wanted him. He absolutely loved being taken when he least expected it, like right now; it turned him on immensely to the point where there was already a puddle of precum pooling on the floor. Wei Wuxian whined around Lan Wangji's fingers at a particular thrust that abused his sensitive spot, keening as he reached his high.
His legs trembled, and he could see through the mirror's reflection that his husband was already staring at him. It was so jarring, how Wei Wuxian looked absolutely wrecked and debauched with tear tracks on his cheeks in that bent over position, while Lan Wangji stood tall with his back straight, face calm as ever. The only indication that he was as deeply affected as Wei Wuxian was the hot red hue covering his ears.
"Lan Zhan, I can't anymore," he tried removing himself from Lan Wangji's hold but as usual, he failed. "I need to leave for Lotus Pier soon– Hanguang-jun! "
Lan Wangji had hooked his arms under Wei Wuxian's knees and carried him while he was still impaled on his cock. He squirmed in sensitivity upon feeling the hot length intruding a deeper part of himself. His fake cries and pleas were all ignored, and he found himself being manhandled again so he was now lying on his back on their shared bed, legs spread wide open with his husband in between them and his wild thrusts rocking them together with the bed.
His wrists were bound above his head by one of Lan Wangji's hands, while the other held onto his hip so tightly that Wei Wuxian was sure would leave marks and bruises later. He closed his legs around his husband's waist and locked his ankles against his lower back, as Lan Wangji leaned down to connect their lips together, kissing his husband softly in contrast to his insanely rough poundings. Their tongues met in a slow dance; Lan Wangji savouring the taste of his husband's mouth to his content. No matter how many times they've kissed, it all reminded him when he was kissing Wei Wuxian for the first time. The genuine curiosity, the primal urge to swallow him whole, to take and take and take without leaving anything behind for Wei Wuxian to claim as his own was still so overwhelming, just like how he felt when they had their first time.
He could taste saltiness on his tongue; the tears that ran down Wei Wuxian's face somehow slipped into the kiss. Lan Wangji kissed him with more fervour, teeth clashing uncomfortably along with the need to explore his wet mouth. He released Wei Wuxian's wrists in order to gripped his hips and tilted them up higher, just so he could slam his cock even deeper this way, the wide girth of his cock stretching his insides and moulding it into the shape of Lan Wangji– and only Lan Wangji's cock.
"Please please please , er-ge," Wei Wuxian whimpered, the overstimulation was starting to make his mind go delirious. If this went on he might not be able to make it to Lotus Pier. "Please fill me up already. Give me your cum, Hanguang-jun, make my belly full of your holy cum so I can keep it inside me all day– nnh!! "
Lan Wangji finally spilled inside him with a low grunt, ropes and ropes of thick liquid painting his insides and filling him up to the brim. Yet, as time passed, his husband stayed inside while he evened out his breath, mouth busy leaving marks all over his neck.
"Lan Zhan, we're both sweaty and sticky now. How am I supposed to leave like this? We need another bath before I go. Come on now, get up. Lan Zhan?"
"You're not leaving."
"Hm? What are you talking about?"
"You're not leaving me, Wei Ying." Lan Wangji looked up from Wei Wuxian's neck, and he could see red rimmed his husband's eyes. He was so used to seeing Lan Wangji's composed expression no matter what situation they were in, that it became a shock to him when he saw tears fill Lan Wangji's eyes.
"You're only going to Lotus Pier for a few days and then you'll come back here. To where you belong. Cloud Recesses is your home now, you said it yourself this morning in front of everyone. You'll come back to me and you're not leaving."
"Lan Zhan." Wei Wuxian smiled fondly as he caressed his husband's cheeks. It was almost impossible to hear Lan Wangji saying so many words at a time, so the surprise that Wei Wuxian felt upon listening to his husband showed on his face with his smile turning into a chuckle.
Lan Zhan just said something long for the first time ever and that something was about me belonging to him and the Lan Clan. How cute.
"I'm sorry that this one worded his words wrongly, Hanguang-jun. Of course I'm not leaving, it's only a short departure. I will be back in your arms again in a few days, mm? I belong to you and I belong to this place. I'm yours, Lan Zhan. Forgive me for wording it that way."
He circled his arms around Lan Wangji's neck and pulled him down for a kiss.
"Wei Ying does not need to ask for forgiveness."
"But still! I made you cry, Lan Zhan."
"It is not Wei Ying's fault."
"Lan Zhan! Just accept my apology already, will you?"
"Mn."
They continued kissing for half an incense time before someone knocked on their doors, relaying the message that Lan Qiren was expecting Hanguang-jun to be in the main hall. Wei Wuxian answered on his behalf, saying that they'll be out soon, and the shadow of the disciple standing outside disappeared.
If only they knew how red the disciple's face was as he scurried down the hallway, rules be damned, as he tried hard to block out the images that were forming in his head from the sounds of his seniors' moans that were still ringing in his ears.
⁂
The sampan he boarded was filled with… gifts.
There were several jars of Emperor's Smile, a box of loquats, quite a number of hair ornaments– that Wei Wuxian couldn't choose from so he decided to buy them all– wrapped in colourful paper wrappers and silk cloth, glass and jade ornaments for his nephew Jin Ling, and other sweet delicacies that he planned on sharing with the kids and disciples from the Jiang sect. Although he bought a reasonable amount of gifts, he convinced himself, it still didn't leave a dent in his husband's money at all. Lan Wangji never actually asked for his money pouch back from him, but each time Wei Wuxian wanted to use it he always found that the money in it was more than what he had last seen from his previous splurge.
An excited grin spread across his face as he used a talisman to make the sampan move faster. The sudden jolt nearly toppled him off the edge, and when he regained his balance he winced at the slight movement of the jade plug that his husband had slipped inside him before they took a bath earlier.
"Ahh – Lan Zhan, what – "
"To keep Wei Ying full all day."
Silly Lan Zhan. Wei Wuxian smiled as he patted his tummy lightly, entertaining the thought that even though Lan Zhan couldn't come with him to Lotus Pier, at least he brought a part of his husband with him here.
Shortly after, he finally arrived. He could see his sister waving at him, and he waved back excitedly. As soon as the sampan stopped he hopped out and scooped her into a tight hug, mindful not to crush her as Jiang Cheng patted his back and Jin Zixuan smiled and nodded at him in greetings, with Wei Wuxian smiling and nodding back at him. He pulled away just to crush his nephew into another tight hug while awkwardly ignoring his sister's stare on his neck, laughing when the boy struggled to be let free.
"Wei Wuxian! Stop holding him in a headlock already and let's go inside!"
"Ah, wait! Jiang Cheng, I brought gifts– "
He didn't even have to finish his sentence for Jiang Cheng to instruct his men to help gather all of the things from his sampan. He smiled gratefully, while Jiang Cheng huffed but smiled back in return.
"A-Xian, come. Let's go."
He followed his sister, trailing behind the others while they walked inside. There were young disciples training in the training ground, with Madam Yu watching them carefully. When they walked past them, Wei Wuxian bowed respectfully, and Madam Yu nodded as an acknowledgement before turning her attention to her disciples again. They still weren't particularly close to each other, but after all they had been through, Madam Yu wasn't really strict with him anymore. Especially after the entire cultivation world was made known of Wei Wuxian's relationship with the Lan Clan Leader, Hanguang-jun. Getting unnecessarily angry towards Wei Wuxian would mean dealing with Hanguang-jun in the aftermath, and no one would want to deal one to one with him.
Jiang Fengmian greeted him wholeheartedly like he usually did, asking questions about his experience living in the Cloud Recesses. They exchanged stories while they headed to the main hall, where lunch was already prepared for them and Wei Wuxian couldn't help but feel emotional, being surrounded by the people who raised him since he was a kid.
Their voices never ceased even while eating. It was totally different, the eating etiquette here and in the Cloud Recesses, and Wei Wuxian momentarily wondered if Lan Zhan was doing fine. But of course he would be fine. He was Hanguang-jun, the Lan Clan leader after all.
"A-Xian," Jiang Yanli called him softly. He turned to see his sister handing him a bowl of her homemade lotus root soup, and he beamed happily as he took it from her and started eating.
"Shijie, your soup is theee best in this whole entire world, do you know that?" He slurped a spoonful and sighed contentedly.
"You just say that because you haven't had it in a while."
"Shijie!"
Jiang Yanli let out a small laugh at Wei Wuxian's reaction, her hand patting his head gently.
"I'm saying the truth! Jiang Cheng, tell shijie that her soup is the best in the world."
"A-jie, Wei Wuxian is right. Nothing else can beat your soup, really. A-Ling! Quick, tell your mother that her soup is the best!"
Jin Ling, comfortable with not engaging in any of the adults' conversations, was taken aback when his name was mentioned.
"Hm? Oh– yes! A-niang's soup is the best thing I've ever had!" He quickly agreed with his uncles, praising his mother's specially made soup as something that truly could not be rivalled.
Jiang Yanli only continued to laugh; the antics of the three really humoured her. She shook her head and wiped the tear that threatened to escape the corner of her eyes when suddenly her husband's gentle voice reached her.
"They all said the truth. Your lotus root soup really is the best, A-Li."
Wei Wuxian and Jiang Cheng both sighed and rolled their eyes dramatically when their sister smiled and blushed at her husband's words. It seemed that their sister truly wouldn't believe anything they say now, only accepting her husband's words as the truth.
"Thank you."
They both teased Jiang Yanli about how she would only accept compliments if they come from Jin Zixuan, and she shyly denied it. Jiang Fengmian joined in the good-natured teasing until both Jiang Yanli and Jin Zixuan were sporting red cheeks, and their lunch ended full of laughter.
After leaving the main hall, Wei Wuxian met up with some old friends and gave out the delicacies he had gotten them. He even gathered the village kids and started playing games with them, taking them to play in the lake until all were drenched from head to toe. When he suddenly remembered about the jade plug sitting inside of him it was already too late, and he shifted uncomfortably in his wet, heavy robes.
"Wei Wuxian! How old do you think you are, playing in the water like that? It's almost sunset!"
"Aiya, Jiang Cheng. I just got back here. Let me enjoy myself with these kids, will you?"
He walked side by side with Jiang Cheng who was still judging his unpresentable appearance, shaking his head with his brows scrunched together.
"Lan Wangji is here. He talked with A-die about something in the hall as soon as he arrived and saw you playing with those kids in the lake after that, and decided to wait in your room. I don't know how he fell in love with you, really."
"Hey! What do you mean by that? I'm really handsome, you know? And very good at so many things–"
"Including playing around and getting home wet from head to toe. Yeah, yeah. Who would have believed the fact that the scary Yiling Laozu actually likes playing around like a kid, huh?"
"Jiang Cheng– !"
"Wei Ying."
The sound came from behind them, and only Jiang Cheng turned around to look at the man who called out for Wei Wuxian.
"Sect Leader Jiang."
"Clan Leader Lan."
They exchanged greetings shortly, and suddenly Jiang Cheng was no longer by his side. It was getting dark because the sun was setting and everyone was mostly busy with their own business to mind that Lan Wangji was carrying Wei Wuxian in bridal style back to his room.
"Lan Zhan, when did you get here? Why didn't you come to say hi to me? Jiang Cheng said you saw me with the kids earlier."
The doors closed behind them and Lan Wangji set him down gently by the tub, expert hands quickly disrobing his husband's wet outfit.
"Just a while ago. Didn't want to disturb Wei Ying."
"Mm. Are you going to bathe with me too, Lan Zhan? You know, there's still time before dinner– nggh." His mouth went off as his husband filled in the tub with water and turned him around, but ended with a groan when Lan Wangji grabbed the base of the plug and tugged on it lightly.
"Wei Ying is wet."
"Well yeah, I did fall into the lake earlier so it'd be weird if I'm not wet, right?"
"No, Wei Ying is wet inside . With my cum."
Wei Wuxian didn't know what it was that made his cock twitch in interest, slowly hardening against his tummy. Was it the fact that he was still full of Lan Wangji's cum? Was it because his husband had looked , and made that observation? Or was it just because of Lan Wangji's deep voice that fed into his arousal right now?
"Yeah? And what is my dear husband Lan Zhan gonna do about that?"
Lan Wangji didn't reply as usual, letting his actions communicate with Wei Wuxian's body.
The water was warm when Lan Wangji took them both inside the tub. He was seated on his husband's lap, and Wei Wuxian naturally put his arms around Lan Wangji's neck as he closed their gap to kiss him passionately. It had been many hours since they last met each other this morning, and Wei Wuxian missed his husband a lot.
He let Lan Wangji know through his kiss; tilting his head and slipping his tongue inside Lan Wangji's warm mouth. The two kissed hotly, both fighting for dominance, until Lan Wangji surprised him by groping his asscheeks and spreading them apart. The jade plug was removed and was replaced by four of Lan Wangji's long, thick fingers. The cum inside of him spilled into the water as Lan Wangji kept on shoving his fingers deeper inside.
"Mmh!" In a split second his tough wall that he put upfront crumbled, and he whined into the kiss as his ass was shamelessly played with by Lan Wangji's big hands.
"Lan Zhan, just take me already. Fuck me with your big cock, Lan er-gege, and put more cum inside me. Make my tummy round with your seed– ah! W-Wait, Lan Zhan, not in this tub– Not in this tub!!"
⁂
Dinner went by splendidly well.
Although Wei Wuxian had to bear the embarrassment of explaining to Jiang Cheng why there were servants in his room cleaning up a mess and how the bathtub in his room split into pieces without actually exposing the truth, it was instantly forgotten by other topics that others brought up into conversation.
Everyone was present, even Madam Yu was there sitting beside his husband while eating quietly. Jiang Fengmian occasionally talked with his wife, but more than that he talked with their guests, Jin Zixuan and Lan Wangji, and his children.
Wei Wuxian had originally requested for the head chef to cook something else for his husband, stating that Lan Wangji couldn't eat spicy food. But Lan Wangji held Wei Wuxian's arm to get his attention and shook his head, showing him that he could eat everything that was served on his table by picking up the chopsticks and slowly eating a spoonful of spicy beef broth. Wei Wuxian stared at him with awe, touched that his husband was willing to eat spicy food for him.
After painfully watching his husband trying each dish slower than it took Wei Wuxian to resurrect though, he went to the kitchen himself and asked the head chef to prepare something that was more suitable for someone from the Lan Clan's palate.
Dinner went on for long hours; Jiang Yanli even got to make her lotus root soup again for Lan Wangji to try.
"Hanguang-jun… How is it?"
He had only taken one sip, and now everyone was waiting for his reaction. Wei Wuxian was already staring at him expectantly, a wide smile on his face. Jiang Cheng was also looking while pretending to scoop the soup that he had already finished a while ago. Jin Zixuan and Jin Ling were both looking at him too, their faces serious as if they were nervous for their wife and mother's dish to be judged by someone so prestigious. Even Jiang Fengmian had stopped drinking, his wife stealing side glances from Lan Wangji.
He put down the spoon and stared at the lotus root floating on the surface of the soup, before looking up and meeting everyone's gazes.
"Delicious."
Soft sighs of relief and laughter erupted in the hall, as Jiang Yanli thanked the Lan Clan Leader for his compliment. Lan Wangji nodded curtly, thanking her for the wonderful dish in return as he continued enjoying it. He turned to the side and found Wei Wuxian grinning at him, with his head resting on his fist and his elbow propped on his table. He looked like he had something in mind, something that he wanted to tell. Lan Wangji could easily differentiate it now; the gaze when his husband has something on his mind, and the gaze when his husband was just plainly staring at him.
"What is it?"
Wei Wuxian's grin grew wider. He reached out his hand and thumbed at the corner of Lan Wangji's lips, before licking it clean.
Lan Wangji had his lips set in a thin line. If his husband hadn't already had his fill right before dinner, Wei Wuxian was sure Lan Wangji would make 1001 excuses to drag him out the hall and fuck him in the nearest empty room he could find.
The esteemed Hanguang-jun… well, Wei Wuxian wouldn't want anyone else to know this side of him. The side of him that burned with hunger every time Wei Wuxian initiated something. The side of him that would push him beyond his practised restraints and took over his emotions to claim Wei Wuxian regardless of where they were or what situation they were in. The side of him that he allowed to take over only when he was with Wei Wuxian, because he was his husband, and the person he trusted the most. The side that he hid perfectly in front of other people, but could be seen through like a glass with just one glance from Wei Wuxian.
Alas, they were dining in the Jiang Clan's hall with the Jiangs and the Jin Clan Leader present. Lan Wangji merely inhaled and exhaled calmly, fixing Wei Wuxian's sleeve that nearly got into a plate of honey sweet potatoes before continuing with his own bowl of soup.
"Behave, Wei Ying."
"Okay, okay." Wei Wuxian pouted as he turned his attention to his nephew, busying himself by asking him stories about his latest Night Hunt.
"Hah?! Even with you, Lan Sizhui, and Lan Jingyi combined, you can't defeat the evil beast?!"
"It's not an ordinary evil beast! I'm telling you, it's way more fierce than anything I've encountered in my life!"
"Fiercer than Wen Ning?"
"Fiercer than Wen Ning!"
"Even more fierce than the Demonic Left Arm?"
"Even more fierce than the Demonic Left Arm!"
Wei Wuxian could not believe what he was hearing. An evil beast that was worse than Wen Ning and the Demonic Left Arm– how could he never heard of this? What had he been doing these past days? Why hadn't he heard anything about this?
"Lan Zhan, why have I never heard of this?"
"Wei Ying has been improving Wei Ying's spiritual core. Three days and three nights of improving cultivation in the Cold Spring."
"Ah, right." He recalled staying in that ice cold water for what he felt like a thousand years, just to improve the core that the weak Mo Xuanyu's body barely has. Lan Wangji was reluctant to let him stay there alone– and Wei Wuxian teased him by saying he just didn't want to miss his daily streak of 'everyday means everyday'– so he had made it his routine to visit every morning as soon as he woke up and every evening before he go to bed to stay an incense time by Wei Wuxian's side.
"Then what happened? Did someone else defeat it?"
"Jiujiu did. If he hadn't come in time, I don't know what would happen to me and Sizhui and Jingyi on that mountain."
"You wouldn't be sitting here eating with us if I hadn't come in time!"
Jin Ling pouted and hid behind his father while Jin Zixuan merely chuckled, letting his wife handle the silly argument.
"A-Cheng. But you did save them from the evil beast. Thank you again for saving A-Ling and Young Master Lan that night."
"A-jie, you don't need to thank me again. I just want to scare this kid a little."
"I thought the scary uncle should be me?"
Wei Wuxian was left dumbfounded when Jin Ling snickered, yet again while hiding behind his father, while Jiang Yanli laughed behind her sleeve and Jin Zixuan coughed out a small laugh. The others joined in the laughter, and Wei Wuxian looked at them confusedly.
"What's so funny about that?"
"You're not scary at all. You're the silly uncle, Wei-shushu."
"You– !"
They all laughed at his reaction, forcing a smile to spread across his face as well. It was nice to be surrounded by the people he loved, and it was even nicer knowing that nothing would threaten him or his loved ones anymore; that they are safe, and no one would take him away from his loved ones again. No one would take him away from his shijie, Jiang Cheng, his little nephew, Jiang-shushu, Madam Yu, and especially his Lan Zhan.
"Why didn't you invite Young Master Lan over, A-Ling? We would love to have him with us," Jiang Yanli asked while the servants came into the hall to take away all of the empty dishes.
"I did, but he said he has to go back to attend some personal things."
"Ah, I see."
Jiang Yanli nodded in understanding and took his husband's hand when he offered it, getting up from her seat. It might seem normal to her but Wei Wuxian had his suspicions up. Lan Sizhui and Lan Jingyi saying they had things to attend to. Lan Wangji being held back by Lan Qiren to help him with things. What exactly are these 'things'? Is it really that personal and confidential to the Lan Clan only? But I'm married to Lan Zhan, so I'm technically a part of the Lan Clan too, right? Shouldn't I have the right to know too?
The table in front of him was already cleaned up when he came to himself. Lan Wangji offered his arm and Wei Wuxian gratefully grabbed it, getting up onto his feet. They were bidding each other good night right outside the hall when Wei Wuxian suddenly remembered about his gift for the two siblings he grew up with.
"Shijie! I have a gift for you in my room! Come to my room for a while, please?"
"Wei Wuxian, can't you give it tomorrow? It's such a hassle for A-jie to go to your room that's all the way down that hall and then go back to her room that's in a totally opposite direction from there."
"It's fine, A-Cheng. Didn't A-Xian bring gifts for you too? We can go to his room together and you can send me back to my room. How does that sound?"
Jiang Cheng hmph -ed at Wei Wuxian's grinning face but followed his sister obediently, the four of them walking in pairs towards Wei Wuxian's room. When they got there, the servants were already gone, and a newly placed bathtub was exactly where the previous disaster had happened.
Once Jiang Yanli and Jiang Cheng were seated, Wei Wuxian started presenting them with his gifts.
"I know you can easily get the liquor and loquats by yourself if you want to, but I really have nothing else I could think of to get for you."
Wei Wuxian said as he pointed to the jars of Gusu's Emperor's Smile on the square table and a box of fruits right beside it on the floor. Jiang Cheng shook his head and sighed as if showing disapproval which nearly sent Wei Wuxian into a childish tantrum, but picked one up and started drinking from the jar.
"Thanks. But you don't have to get me anything next time. Just get yourself here and spend more time with us. A-die and A-niang have been complaining about how quiet the house has been ever since shijie and you moved out."
He huffed as he took another sip while Wei Wuxian looked at him in surprise.
"Really?"
"Why would I lie to you?"
"Tch. Grumpy as always. Shijie, look here. Look at your gifts."
Wei Wuxian ignored Jiang Cheng in favour of opening the silk cloth-wrapped boxes and colourful paper wrappers to reveal the intricately designed and pretty hair ornaments. Jiang Yanli gasped at the delicate colours presented in front of her. She started picking one with light purple crystals dangling from a shiny, silver hairpin to stick into her half-bun, but Wei Wuxian beat her to it. The accessory complements her youthful appearance, making her look as if she was a teenager again. She flashed a smile at her two brothers, asking if it suits her, while the two nodded as they looked at her as if she hung the moon.
Lan Wangji who had been sitting at the side to watch them the whole time broke into a soft smile.
"A-Xian, you wear this one."
Jiang Yanli rose up to her knees to put another hairpin with a series of light pink peonies dangling from it into Wei Wuxian's hair. Once she was done she immediately turned to look at Lan Wangji who was already staring at his husband, eyes never blinking.
"Hanguang-jun, how do I look?"
Wei Wuxian tilted his head and grinned, twisting his neck a little to show off the hairpin. His heart skipped a beat when Lan Wangji kept on looking at him for a while, staring intently without saying anything. He was starting to fidget and wanted to pull it out in fear of his husband not actually fond of the little hair ornament, when he suddenly voiced out his opinion.
"Pretty. Wei Ying is very pretty."
"He asked you about the hairpin, not his face."
Jiang Cheng faked a gag while Jiang Yanli giggled behind her sleeve. She reprimanded her brother right after for interrupting their moment, urging them to leave as the night grew late.
"Let us go now. They must be waiting for me already. Come, A-Cheng."
She carefully packed her gifts again, gathering them into her arms. Wei Wuxian was about to remove the one in his hair and return it to her but Jiang Yanli stopped him.
"Keep it, A-Xian."
"But shijie– "
"I want you to keep it. So now we have matching hairpins."
She smiled as she patted his head gently before turning to leave when Jiang Cheng said his goodbyes. They left Wei Wuxian and Lan Wangji standing by the door, watching the two figures disappear around the corner down the hallway before retreating back inside.
"Lan Zhan," he started, watching his husband readjusting the decorations on the table where they sat earlier. Lan Wangji walked over to take his hand and led them to bed, already disrobing their outer robes and placing it in Wei Wuxian's closet after folding them.
"W-Wait, Lan Zhan, we've already did it twice today– "
"It's Hai time. Time to sleep."
"Ahh, okay okay." Lan Wangji laid in the middle of the bed and Wei Wuxian took his spot above his husband, fitting himself underneath Lan Wangji's chin. He planted a few kisses on the soft skin of Lan Wangji's neck, feeling his husband's strong arms holding onto him tighter.
"Wei Ying. Sleep."
"Ah, but Lan Zhan. One more kiss, okay?"
He continued playing around, wanting to tickle Lan Wangji with more pecks and kisses all over his neck. But one hand cupped his cheek and tilted his head up, before another pair of lips pressed against his. Wei Wuxian closed his eyes and savoured the kiss, his hands fisting Lan Wangji's inner robe.
While their lips were locked Wei Wuxian felt Lan Wangji's other hand swiping aside his inner robe. He let out a confused noise, wanting to pull away to see what his husband was trying to do but the grip around his jaw was tight. Lan Wangji deepened the kiss by sliding his tongue inside Wei Wuxian's mouth, thoroughly licking every inch of it while two of his fingers were plunged inside his dry hole.
"Mmh!"
He tried to push himself away from the ruthless fingers, but to no avail. Lan Wangji only followed the jerk of his hips and buried them over and over again, rubbing that sweet spot inside him, sending a mix spark of pain and pleasure throughout his body. Wei Wuxian whined loudly against his husband's lips, hoping for his mercy as he writhed in Lan Wangji's arms.
"N-No, husband– Lan Zhan, no…"
His meek voice was easily ignored, tears pricking his eyes. Lan Wangji lifted his hips up so Wei Wuxian was now straddling him, thighs on either side of Lan Wangji's spread legs.
"L-Lan Zhan? You're not going to do me again, are you?"
He felt movements behind him but didn't dare to take a look. His eyes were glued to Lan Wangji's unperturbed expression, and he only let out a short yelp followed by a loud cry when the bulbous tip of Lan Wangji's hard cock breached open his dry hole.
"Lan Zhan, you meanie! You're so bad to me– ahh!
Wei Wuxian couldn't stop the tears that fell down his cheeks when Lan Wangji kept on pushing his cock inside him. It was too much, Wei Wuxian was gripping Lan Wangji's chest hard because it was painful and he felt so full, too much – but the cock was only halfway buried in him. He swallowed down a sob when his husband grabbed a hold of his asscheeks and brought him down, impaling him on his throbbing length.
A louder scream was ripped off his throat and Wei Wuxian's entire body shook like a leaf. It was so mind-numbing as his nerves were all sensitive from the pain and pleasure combined. His hard cock was pathetically leaking precum against his bulging stomach, and he knew no matter how much he denied getting pleasure from being forced to take his husband like this, Lan Wangji would always know him better.
"Wei Ying could ask for one more kiss. So I can ask for one more round too."
In the midst of hiccuping through his tears, Wei Wuxian managed to gaped wordlessly after hearing his husband's words, almost as if he couldn't believe that statement really came out of Lan Wangji's mouth.
"I– Excuse me? Lan Zhan, you really– no, wait!!"
Alas, he couldn't voice out his thoughts when all that was punched out of him were moans and cries for Lan Wangji to take pity on him.
"M-Mercy, Hanguang-jun! Gentler, please… Slow slow– nnh… No no no– wait– ahh!"
Merciless, was his husband. Wei Wuxian was bounced up and down due to Lan Wangji's rough thrusts, his feet planted against the mattress to aid him in snapping his hips harder, burying his huge cock inside his beloved over and over again. Wei Wuxian's beautiful cries and tears that spilled down his face only served to turn him on even more, and Lan Wangji held his husband's hips tightly to keep on drilling into the delicious, addictive heat, until that too, wasn't enough anymore.
"Er-gege, a-are you done yet? Oof–"
His face was smushed into the pillow when Lan Wangji pulled him off his cock and laid him down. He used this opportunity to catch his breath, gasping a lungful of air but the nudge against his gaping hole made him whine again.
"Lan-er-ge, let me suck you off, yeah? Please, Lan Zhan, I'm so sore, I really don't think I can walk at all tomorrow if you– mmff–"
Lan Wangji cut him off with a kiss. A wet, sloppy kiss that successfully distracted him from his husband penetrating him again. He only realised Lan Wangji was fully seated inside him when said man took Wei Wuxian's hand and pressed his palm on his tummy, making him feel the bulge of Lan Wangji's cock.
"Wei Ying takes my cock so well," he said in a low voice, hips starting to move again. It wasn't long before he started pounding the tight hole, the hot walls clamping around his cock deliciously. "Want to keep my cock inside Wei Ying all the time," he grunted, his thrusts lacking rhythm. Wei Wuxian whined at the thought, whined at the idea of sitting on Lan Wangji's cock all day. His sweet noises were swallowed by another kiss, their lips moving desperately against each other, tongue licking into each other's mouth as Lan Wangji's thrusts became harder and faster, wildly burying his cock over and over as his body trapped his husband against the mattress.
The rough punch of Lan Wangji's cock against his sensitive spot made Wei Wuxian come first, his cum spurting in between their bodies. He cried as he came, stars exploding behind his eyes and he wanted to hold onto his husband, but Lan Wangji had his hands pinned on either side of his head.
"C-Cum for me, husband. Fill my hole up, and m-mark me inside with your semen– ahhh–" He was cut off by a choked sob when Lan Wangji bit the side of his neck as he unloaded his cum deep in Wei Wuxian's core. Wei Wuxian's body trembled at the intensity, cock twitching at the feeling of hot liquid endlessly filling his insides, warming him from the inside out. There was too much cum, and some spilled out his hole, but Lan Wangji remained unmoving, showing no sign of pulling out at all.
"Er-gege, Lan Zhan," Wei Wuxian called tiredly, his eyes nearly closing.
"Mn."
Lan Wangji shifted them again so Wei Wuxian was lying on top of him, Lan Wangji's cock still plugging him.
"Lan Zhan, you should… we should… clean, and then your– nnh, cock–"
"Wei Ying. Sleep now."
Wei Wuxian slurred a few more words that sounded like a protest before his breathings started evening out, and his eyes closed. Lan Wangji pressed a kiss on Wei Wuxian's forehead and internally praised himself for being able to tire his husband out and put him to a deep sleep. He gently took out the hair ornament that his sister-in-law had gifted his husband, and set it aside on the floor. The slight movement made his husband twitch and let out a soft noise, but still deep in slumber. With a flick of his hand the lights in the room went out, and just then Lan Wangji realised that they did not put any silencing talisman in the room.
⁂
To say that the tension between the two of them and everyone else was overwhelming would be an understatement.
Wei Wuxian wanted to bury himself alive.
As shameless as he was, he wasn't actually planning to let everyone in the Jiang sect listen to his endless moans and screams last night. The idea of people hearing them was appealing, but he didn't really want it to actually happen.
Last night was both their fault for getting too caught up in each other to even take precautions, really. Now they have two people glaring intensely at them, Jiang Cheng and Madam Yu, one who was so traumatised with his pale face that he looked like he could pass out any time soon, Jin Ling, and one who let out a laugh when everyone else was sitting in awkward silence. Jiang Fengmian. Jin Zixuan and other Jiang sect disciples looked very uncomfortable, avoiding eye contact with Wei Wuxian and Lan Wangji.
Wei Wuxian couldn't even bring himself to apologise. Because wouldn't that be more awkward? What if they ask him what was he apologising for? The thought sent shivers down his spine, and so he kept quiet throughout breakfast, which was very unusual of him. Jiang Fengmian tried to coax him to participate in their conversation, but he just couldn't really face everyone else, face sporting the same shade of red throughout the morning ordeal.
All of a sudden, while everyone was almost finished with their meal, Lan Wangji spoke up.
"I would like to apologise for the inconvenience we have caused everyone last night. I would take any kind of punishment the Jiang Clan deem appropriate on behalf of me and Wei Ying."
Wei Wuxian could only gape at his husband, who was looking at Jiang Fengmian with a serious expression. Everyone else in the hall paused to look at the esteemed Hanguang-jun, who was sincerely apologising for his carelessness the night before. Somehow, they had not harbour any dissatisfaction towards the Second Jade of Lan for the disturbance that pierced through almost the entire night. They had associated it with Wei Wuxian merely because his voice was the only one they could hear screaming and yelling (disturbing everyone's attempt at having a good sleep), forgetting the fact that Hanguang-jun was very much involved in last night's affair too. It was because of the Hanguang-jun that Wei Wuxian was making those noises in the first place.
The disciples let out a scandalised gasp, talking and chattering about the realisation that dawned upon them in the background.
"Lan Zhan! You don't have to! They could've forgotten anything happened if we don't mention it!" Wei Wuxian whispered loud enough for only his husband to hear. Lan Wangji merely looked at him and took his hand into his, squeezing it gently.
"Wei Ying is uncomfortable. I made Wei Ying feel uncomfortable with Wei Ying's own family. So now I need to fix that."
Wei Wuxian looked at him with unshed tears in his eyes. Oh, my sweet, sweet Lan Zhan. Willing to do anything just to make him feel happy again, even if it meant losing face for being the one who admitted to the slight mishap that could've been prevented if only they were more careful (and less horny) last night.
He chuckled and the tear that slipped out of the corner of his eye was immediately brushed away by Lan Wangji's thumb.
"I will fix this. Do not worry."
"Silly, Lan Zhan. That's not why I'm crying, silly."
He laughed a little and shook his head when Lan Wangji looked at him more intently, eyebrows scrunched together in worry. "Then why?"
Wei Wuxian was about to answer him but Jiang Fengmian's loud cough caught their attention again. The older man chuckled for a while, smiling fondly at the two lovebirds sitting before him before addressing the Lan Clan Leader.
"Hanguang-jun, I believe it is not necessary to apply any punishment for– " he coughed awkwardly before continuing, " –last night. A lot were affected by it, I'm sure, but as the Lan Clan Leader I know that you would not repeat the same mistake in the future. It is fine if we just forget it ever happened," he smiled good-naturedly at Lan Wangji, who waited for a while before nodding in agreement.
"Thank you, Jiang Clan Leader, for your kindness." He bowed his head slightly and the older man did the same, and just like that the hall became noisy with loud chatters again. Some still threw them teasing glances (not daring to show it directly to Lan Wangji, only showing it to Wei Wuxian when he happened to lock eyes with them), but nothing about last night was mentioned. Wei Wuxian sighed in relief when he felt like a burden was lifted off his shoulders, feeling like he could finally breathe normally again.
He looked around, ready to express how relieved he felt to his sister when he only realised that Jiang Yanli wasn't in the hall. He turned and searched every face but none of them was his sister, so he scooted away from his spot beside his husband to nudge Jiang Cheng's arm.
"What? Don't think I'll forget what you did last night just because A-die let it go. Did you know your loud noises kept me up the whole night?! It was unfortunate enough that I had to hear those weird noises, but coming from my own brother?! Wei Wuxian, you really are shameless. Hmpf."
Jiang Cheng snatched his arm from Wei Wuxian's hold and continued eating his remaining dishes. Lan Wangji who saw this reached out to hold Wei Wuxian's knee, trying to call him back, but Wei Wuxian waved him off with a reassuring smile before turning to Jiang Cheng again.
"Aiya, Jiang Cheng. Just forget it already! I'm really sorry, okay? It won't happen again, I promise!" He held up three fingers beside his temple and showed a really cute grin to Jiang Cheng who hmph ed at him again.
"Whatever. I don't think you'll change that easily but you better not let me hear those… weird noises again."
"I won't!! It won't ever happen again!"
Only when Jiang Chen seemed pleased enough at his words did Wei Wuxian ask him the question he had been wanting to ask.
"Where's shijie? I didn't see her at all… She was never in the hall, was she?"
Jiang Cheng turned his head to look at him incredulously, like it was something that he shouldn't be asking.
"Hah? Wei Wuxian, are you pretending not to know? You're the one who should know where shijie is and what she's doing there. It is for your event anyway– "
"My event? What are you talking about? Where is she?"
"Are you… " He got up from his seat when everyone was done with their breakfasts and were about to leave the hall, Wei Wuxian following beside him closely with Lan Wangji following behind them. Jiang Cheng stopped in the middle of a bridge heading to the practice ground and frowned at Lan Wangji, then his brother.
"Did Lan Wangji not tell you about it?"
"Tell me about what? Just say it, Jiang Cheng!"
He looked conflicted, eyes flitting between the two people in front of him. With Lan Wangji not speaking up to offer any sort of explanation, Jiang Cheng had to put two and two to figure out that perhaps Wei Wuxian wasn't supposed to know about it yet. He sighed frustratedly at the fact that he had let some things slip without himself realising it.
"Nevermind, you'll know it soon anyway. I have to make some preparations before I leave with A-niang and A-die. I guess I'll see you there?"
Jiang Cheng had said that to Lan Wangji, who had nodded in return. Wei Wuxian's jaw dropped at the interaction, mildly offended that he had absolutely no idea what was going on.
There is such a thing as my event going on, and shijie is there. Lan Wangji knows about it, Jiang Cheng knows about it, Madam Yu… and Jiang shushu… They all seem to know about this but me?! What is going on actually?!
"Lan Zhan! What is– "
"We will go now. It is starting soon."
"Where? What is starting soon? Lan Zhan, are you gonna hide things from me too?"
Lan Wangji nearly gave in upon seeing the dejected look on Wei Wuxian's face. But he steeled himself and merely reached his hand out to take his husband's hand into his, a determined, golden-eyed stare being directed into his husband's confused, grey ones.
"We're going home."
⁂
Wei Wuxian could not believe it.
If someone told the fifteen year old him that one day he'd be sitting in the Lan Clan's main hall with Lan Qiren hosting a tea ceremony to celebrate the acceptance of Wei Wuxian as a part of the Lan Clan, he'd probably entertain that thought and laugh, but would never believe it. Because what ? Lan Qiren, the man who despised Wei Wuxian's behaviour so much that he kicked him out of his class? Lan Qiren, who never approved of Lan Wangji approaching him and being close to him? Lan Qiren, who mustered up all of his strength just to avoid interacting with Wei Wuxian, held a tea ceremony for him ?
That will never happen. Never in a million years, never in this lifetime. Right?
But no, apparently the man behind this delicately decorated hall and the man behind this tea ceremony was none other but Lan Qiren himself.
The man was sitting in the very centre of the hall, with Lan Xichen sitting beside him and Wei Wuxian and Lan Wangji kneeling on two silk cushions before them. It was the first time in a very long time that Wei Wuxian felt nervous being under the older man's scrutinising gaze. But when he looked carefully there was nothing menacing under the stare at all. Lan Qiren nodded to someone beside him and he took a glance to see a Lan older disciple pouring what seemed to be a cup of jasmine tea, before presenting it to Lan Wangji who accepted it with a slight nod. He then gave another cup to Wei Wuxian who accepted it but with confusion clearly written all over his face. Lan Xichen flashed him a gentle smile, like he always did, and suddenly the hall that was filled with soft murmurs was silenced immediately.
Everyone seemed to be aware of what was going to happen, but even then Wei Wuxian still couldn't catch up with what was happening. He wanted to ask his husband but that would be inappropriate, so he shot Jiang Fengmian, who was sitting just some distance away from Lan Qiren, a look but was given a soft, proud chuckle in return instead.
It was very quiet for a while; no one dared to make a sound. Wei Wuxian who knew nothing was even more nervous to mess up whatever this was, forcing himself to breathe properly through his nose and to maintain holding the cup in both hands, mirroring his husband.
Just then, Lan Qiren spoke in a quiet breath. "I give you and your marriage my blessing." It was so subtle that Wei Wuxian would not have been able to catch it if the hall wasn't already so devoid of any noise.
His eyes widened in surprise.
This tea ceremony wasn't just any ceremony… It was their wedding tea ceremony ??
"Shufu. Thank you for taking care of Wangji all these years." Wei Wuxian watched how Lan Wangji was looking directly into Lan Qiren's eyes that seemed like they were glazed with tears. There was no tight expression on the older man's face, only soft features and an even softer gaze on his favourite nephew. "Shufu, please drink some tea." He offered the cup with both hands, and Lan Qiren accepted it with a soft smile on his face before he downed it with a few gulps. He set the cup down and chuckled lightly, Lan Wangji bowing his head slightly before the attention was on him.
Wei Wuxian tried not to panic. According to what he knew about wedding ceremonial tea (which was very limited knowledge), the groom has to serve the father and the bride has to serve the mother. Since Lan Wangji's parents weren't here with them anymore, it was only fitting for them to serve Lan Qiren, the head of the clan, and Zewu-jun, the second closest to a parent figure for Lan Wangji. And since Lan Wangji has already served tea to Lan Qiren, that meant that it was his turn to serve Lan Xichen.
He smiled before opening his mouth. But no words came out, and he was overcome with a wave of mixed emotions. This was everything that he wanted– to be accepted by Lan Wangji's closest relatives, and to be welcomed into Gusu's Lan Clan. But now that it was actually happening, he couldn't hold himself back from feeling emotional. "Z-Zewu-jun," he started, and felt hands clasping around his own. He looked up to locked eyes with Lan Xichen who was already smiling at him. "It's fine. I know what you want to tell me." He reassured nicely, and then Wei Wuxian felt another hand holding his thigh, grounding him from being carried away with his emotions. "Can you still say it…?"
Lan Xichen's look turned into concern so Wei Wuxian immediately nodded, the cup of tea being presented in front of him. "Zewu-jun, please drink some tea."
They exchanged places after that, with Wei Wuxian offering a cup to Lan Qiren, and Lan Wangji offering one to his brother. During this time Wei Wuxian couldn't hold back his tears anymore, hiccuping through his words while thanking Lan Qiren for still accepting him and Lan Wangji's decision to be together. The older man had the same soft gaze in his eyes, accepting the tea from him with a gentle pat on his shoulder while Lan Wangji gave the tea to Lan Xichen.
This continued for a long while until they had given tea to Jiang Fengmian, Madam Yu, Jiang Cheng and Jiang Yanli. Wei Wuxian sniffled throughout the rest of the ceremony, garnering a fond teasing from Jiang Cheng and a tight hug from his shijie who cried with him. The Lan Clan's younger disciples' sobs could be heard in the background, and Wei Wuxian got to tease them as he ruffled their hair after the ceremony had ended.
All in all it was a successful event, one that he would never forget for the rest of his life.
"Was this what you and Lan Qiren were working on two days ago, Lan Zhan?"
Wei Wuxian was perched on top of Lan Wangji's lap, at one side of the hall. The ceremony had ended shortly before, and now the rest were just enjoying dinner. He watched, from where his head was leaning against Lan Wangji's chest, how Jiang Fengmian and Lan Qiren were talking to each other, wide smiles decorating their faces. He watched the others being engaged in conversations, and his heart clenched at the fondness he felt for his newly joint family.
"Mn. Shufu had planned it for weeks. For Wei Ying."
"For me." Wei Wuxian repeated, another wave of fresh tears sliding down his cheeks. A large hand wiped his tears away though, before it cupped his face and suddenly he was being pulled into a slow kiss.
He let himself lose the warm sensation, in the pleasure of feeling his husband's lips moving against his. He let himself enjoy this, enjoy the fact that he was wanted, here. That the Lan Clan welcomed him, and it was harmoniously joined with the Jiang Clan too. He mewled into a particular intrusion of Lan Wangji's tongue inside his mouth, and felt his husband's cock hardening under him even with layers of robes concealing it.
He hit Lan Wangji's chest lighty.
"Naughty Lan Zhan. We're still in your clan's main hall, in front of all the other older disciples. Behave, husband." He grinned as he grinded down onto the cock teasingly. Lan Wangji let out a low hiss.
"It's Wei Ying's clan's main hall too. Wei Ying is truly a part of the Lan Clan now."
Wei Wuxian's grin turned fond upon hearing Lan Wangji's words. It felt almost surreal that this was happening, and he felt like he could rule the entire cultivation world now that he was officially acknowledged as one of the Lans.
"And now this Lan Clan leader is going to claim his husband."
