Unmoved (Short story)

Summary:

After years of Snotlout missing his big dragon, an unexpected morning surprise came for him. Post-thw

Work Text:

My silence was worth more than my defense.

To most people im arrogant and dumb (which is true) but with the Sleepless nights, absent days, hidden tears, sickness and fevers all while feeling like my birth is more of a mistake than my eventual death. I had a strong heart and a thicker skull.

I still had a decent reputation to maintain and i would never let anyone take it away from my cold dead hands, My sleepless nights wont turn into tearful sleepless ones. Because i know what’s better for myself, I always do.

“Sharpen yourself up boy-yo.”

Snotlout stretches from his bed, the warm black furs slowly rolling off his chest while he tried to slowly gain consciousness and brush his black hair off his cheek.

Silently fantasizing about a big cup of coffee and how to avoid the twins as much as possible, he doesnt want to become a target for their hurricane of terror and.. weird boar pits as he opened his eyes.

——-

His eyes shot open, a sniffing sound wet his ear.

Snotlout screeches the girliest scream berk has ever heard at the snout and sharp teeth coming out from the window.

He swiftly backs up from the bed and onto the railing as he breathes heavily, messy wavy hair and a soft scaly blue tunic. His appearance didn’t change much from the last time hookfang saw him.

It’s been years after the dragons left. Snotlout hasn’t turned into an alcoholic or anything but he’s hurting a bit more than usual after finally getting the courage to throw hookfang related items.

And by throw i mean cry over it for two hours.

There are decorations, medals and blankets in the exact same place as the last time he was in here, unmoved, Untouched.

Snotlout heaved his breath as he stared at hookfang trying to squeeze in and sniff the unfamiliar aroma of his old house while accidentally knocking some things over.

One step. Then another, hookfang bowed his head to his friend with a lowly purr as the wood underneath Snotlout’s feet rumbled.

“You’re bigger than i remember you being… hooky?” Snotlout laughed nervously, his eyes stared at Hooky’s big pupils.

hookfang sniffs the blankets and slowly crawls to his best friend.

Hookfang shakes his body to get rid of the rain water from him and annoy Snotlout with cleaning later. The dragon places his snout on the riders head and exhales out of exhaustion.

Snotlouts lips quiver, as his knees fall and scrape the wood to hug his big dragon.

“I missed you.”
