Chapter Text
1 YEAR LATER…
“I’m really not trying to downplay anyone else’s performance, but Baby Cakes,” Jieun tells her shaking her head, “you were by far the best one there tonight. Everyone else sounded like nails on a chalkboard to be honest—“
“Jieun!” Taehyung exclaims, “every one of those kids were amazing,” he says giving Jieun a look. Does he know his daughter was the best one there? Of course he does. Does he want her to stay humble and make sure to be appreciative of everyone’s talent? Yes. He just wishes his best friend got on board as well.
“But you were the most amazing,” Jungkook replies sending his daughter a smug wink making her giggle and Taehyung sigh.
“I wish Jimin and Yoongi could have come tonight,” Blue says pouting.
“They have their hands full with the baby. They’ll come to the next one,” Taehyung says just as Jungkook leans over and takes the piece of steak off his plate placing it on his own cutting it into small pieces for him.
“I can see you two will never cease to be THAT couple. He’s not going to choke Jungkook,” Jieun says rolling her eyes as Jong-suk and Hobi both chuckle. Taehyung frowns and turns to see Jungkook in fact cutting his steak for him into tiny minuscule pieces.
“Kook…what are you doing? I can do that you know.”
“I know, but…I wanted to. It was too big. I needed to make sure it was safe to eat,” he says shrugging. Taehyung smiles shaking his head. It's hard to believe it's been a year since Taehyung and Jungkook tied the knot. The past 12 months have been a whirlwind of love and new adventures for the happy couple.
Jungkook has been the perfect husband, always putting Taehyung's needs before his own. He's been attentive and loving, making sure Taehyung has everything he needs. Taehyung couldn't have asked for a better partner to raise their daughter together, but lately, Jungkook has been a little bit more protective than usual. At first, it was cute. Jungkook would follow Taehyung around the house, making sure he was okay and keeping a close eye on him, but as time went on, it started to feel a bit suffocating. Taehyung loved being taken care of by his alpha, but he also needed his space. He needed to be able to breathe without Jungkook hovering over him.
“Let him Tae,” Hobi says smiling. “It’s when he stops that you should be worried.”
“I’ll never stop,” smiles Jungkook leaning in pulling Taehyung close.
“You should see them at home,” says Blue quirking an eyebrow. “They never stop kissing Auntie Jieunie.”
“And we never will,” Jungkook says turning Taehyung’s chin, kissing him, making him blush and giggle into the kiss. Jungkook gazes lovingly at his mate. It felt like just yesterday they were exchanging vows and promising to love each other for eternity. He had never imagined that he would find this kind of love and happiness with someone like Taehyung, yet here they were, living their best life together. As he looked into Taehyung’s eyes, he could feel chills surface all over his whole body. He loves this man more than words could express, and he knew that he was exactly where he was meant to be.
“Did you start the meds yet honey?” Jieun asks as they all exit the restaurant.
“Not yet. This month. I had my heat last month so I couldn’t start, but this is the month,” Taehyung replies with both nervousness and anticipation.
For Taehyung and Jungkook, the road to parenthood had been an emotional rollercoaster. What started as a dream of having another baby together quickly turned into a year long struggle filled with frustrations. Taehyung's initial fear from his past trauma slowly shifted into one of bitterness. Every negative pregnancy test felt like a blow to his heart that just amplified his anxiety.
Jungkook, always immensely supportive, stood by Taehyung's side through every disappointment. He was the epitome of strength, always there to offer comfort and encouragement. His unwavering optimism kept Taehyung going, even when everything seemed so bleak. As months passed without any sign of success, frustration began to set in. Taehyung couldn't understand why it wasn't happening for them. He felt like he was failing as an omega, as a partner. But Jungkook remained eternally optimistic in his belief that they would have another baby. He wasn’t worried. And that kind of optimism made Taehyung even more stressed out and anxious.
After much discussion and contemplation, they made the decision to go back to their doctor. Visiting a fertility specialist was a daunting idea, but it was a necessary step towards their goal. The doctor's reassurances and guidance provided a glimmer of hope that it could be possible. The suggestion of fertility medication offered a new ray of hope. Taehyung was eager to start, hopeful this might be the solution they had been searching for, but life had other plans. Just as they were about to begin, Taehyung's heat and Jungkook's rut coincided, forcing them to postpone their plans once again.
But now, as they approached the start of a new month, Taehyung felt a renewed sense of determination. This was their moment, their opportunity to take control. As they prepared to begin the fertility medication, Taehyung couldn't help but feel a renewed sense of optimism. This could be the beginning of their long-awaited journey to being parents again.
“Well, don’t worry. I have a feeling this is going to be it,” Jieun says smiling as she leans in to give Taehyung a hug. Jieun freezes as does everyone else including Blue who stands frozen in shock as she stares at her alpha father.
Jungkook's typically composed demeanor shatters in an instant, his usually warm brown eyes now crimson with an intensity that sent shivers down Jieun's spine, terrifying and menacing. She stands frozen mid-step, seeing Jungkook’s possessiveness, raw and intense. The air around them thick with tension as Jungkook takes a step forward, his posture and muscles tense like a predator ready to pounce. His alpha, usually kept in check, is running free, fueled by an irrational need to protect what was his. An intense feeling washes over him. One that is territorial, possessive, and fiercely protective.
A low, guttural growl rumbles from deep within Jungkook's chest, reverberating, and it sends a chill down everyone’s spine. It’s a warning, a clear message to anyone close by that Taehyung belongs to him, and he will not tolerate any interference on his territory.
Taehyung’s heart races as he watches Jungkook's transformation, torn between fear and confusion. Before he could fully process what was happening, Jungkook closes the distance between them in a blur, his hand shoots out to grip his wrist with a force that was almost painful as he starts to scent him with an uncontrollable need. The possessiveness hangs heavy in the air, leaving no room for argument or reasoning. Jungkook's alpha has taken over completely, overriding any rational thought or attempt at restraint.
Jong-suk immediately stands in front of his own omega, his own protective instincts going into overdrive. Jieun takes his hand and pulls him back. “Tae?” she breathes out as she looks down at Blue who is standing confused and slightly shaking with fear.
“Jungkook,” Taehyung says as steady and calmly as he can. “Kook, you’re scaring Blue. Frankly, you’re scaring us all. Kook…” Taehyung glances at Blue whose wide eyes are staring intensely at her omega father looking for some guidance and reassurance. Taehyung pulls back and cups Jungkook’s face. “Hey, alpha. You need to stand down. I’m fine. See,” Taehyung says smiling. He leans in and places a gentle kiss on Jungkook’s lips making him blink. Taehyung sighs in relief when he sees those beautiful brown eyes return to him.
“The fuck was that Jungkook!” Jong-suk yells angrily. “If you ever step foot near Jieun like that again—“
Jungkook turns around both confused and embarrassed. He can’t begin to explain what that was. “I—I’m so sorry…Jieun—“
“Dad…are you ok? Why are your trying to hurt Auntie Jieunie,” Blue asks lip quivering. Jungkook's heart sinks as he sees the fear flicker in his daughter's eyes. It was such a quick moment, but it cuts through him like a knife. He never meant to scare her, yet his own actions had caused her fear. His hands are trembling, and a wave of disappointment washes over him, a heavy weight settling in his chest. Turning to his mate, he sees the concern etched on Taehyung’s face, mirrored in the eyes of those around him. Shame burns fire hot in his cheeks as he struggles to find the words to apologize. "I'm sorry," he whispers, his voice barely audible over the pounding of his heart. "I don't know what that was,” remorse shaking his voice. “I—I’m sorry Blue, Jieun, everyone. I—“ Jungkook gulps as he tries to find the proper words.
“Do not let it happen again,” Jong-suk warns taking Jieun’s hand leading her to the car.
“You sure you’re ok Jungkook?” Hobi asks concerned, steering the question more so to Taehyung who sighs deeply and gives him a small nod.
“We’re fine Hobes. Really.” Hobi reluctantly agrees and quickly gives Blue a hug before retreating to his car.
“Jungkook—“
“I’m sorry Baby. I swear I don’t know where that came from.”
“We can talk about it later,” Taehyung says, worry evident in his voice. “We should get home. Come on Baby Cakes lets get home to our babies.”
💙💙💙💙💙💙
Jungkook lay in their dark bedroom, staring blankly at the ceiling as he tries to make sense of the chaos that has taken over his mind. He can’t believe he let his alpha take over, letting his instincts consume him and make him lose control. One moment he was fine, the next he was snarling and snapping at Jieun as if he was possessed. He doesn’t know where it was coming from, but lately with Taehyung he feels this overwhelming possessiveness. He just can't help wanting to cocoon him lately. Keep him safe. Safe from what, he’s not sure because the omega is fine. Perfectly safe and fine, yet the urge to keep him close by is becoming all-consuming as of late. It’s irrational, he knows and somehow, it’s also primal, instinctual. He couldn't explain it, but he couldn't deny it either.
And then there was Blue. She had seen it all, and Jungkook could see the fear in her eyes. He doesn’t want her to be afraid of him, but what can he do? He doesn’t know how to stop this from happening. He rubs his temples, trying to calm the headache that is slowly building. He needs to find a way to draw back this possessiveness, to regain control over himself.
The door to the bedroom slowly opens and Jungkook is hit with the overwhelming scent of cherries and rain. More than normal. Taehyung sits tiredly on the bed and runs his fingers through Jungkook’s hair. The alpha places his head on Taehyung’s lap and sighs.
“What’s going on Kook? Talk to me. What was that tonight?”
“If I knew I would tell you Tae. But I swear I don’t know where that came from.”
“But it’s not just tonight. It’s been recently. Is it…”
Jungkook sits up, the moon illuminating the room shining brightly on the omega’s concerned face. “What?”
“Is it stress? You know…from the whole fertility thing?” Jungkook reaches for Taehyung’s hand and pulls him close hugging him tightly.
“No. I told you. If it happens great, if not I’m ok with that too. We have a gorgeous daughter Baby. You really need to stop stressing yourself out so much over this.”
“I can’t. Especially because it seems to now be affecting you so much too.”
“I don’t know what’s been going on with me lately, but I can tell you it has nothing to do with us not getting pregnant yet. And I say yet because I am clearly more positive than you.”
“You can’t keep pulling stuff like that especially with Blue. Or Jieun actually. Kook, she of all people will murder you and know exactly where to hide the body. Why do you keep testing her patience with you?” jokes Taehyung.
“Baby, why do you still smell like you’re in heat? Have you not noticed it?”
“Really?” asks Taehyung frowning.
“Maybe that’s what’s making me an asshole lately. Your scent is fucking overwhelming Tae,” Jungkook says nuzzling against Taehyung’s thigh.
“Save your energy alpha for after I take my meds tomorrow.”
“You’re starting them tomorrow?”
“I talked to the doctor this afternoon. He said I could start.”
“Did you take the pregnancy test?” Jungkook asks.
Taehyung rolls his eyes and pushes Jungkook off his lap. “No Jungkook, I didn’t. What’s the fucking point? It’s going to come out negative like every other one I’ve taken.”
Jungkook frowns and sits up. “You have to though. The doctor said you can’t start the medication unless you take a pregnancy test first. For safety reasons.”
“What did I just say? I don’t need to take one. I’m not pregnant. Can’t get pregnant hence the starting of the medication.”
“Taehyung—“
“I’m tired and honestly beyond my annoyance threshold for the night Jungkook. Can we just drop this? And you should go and talk to your daughter about what happened tonight. I think she’s still a little spooked by it.”
Jungkook exhales deeply and nods. He leans in and cups Taehyung’s cheek kissing him deeply. “I’m sorry Baby. I’ll get my alpha under control. I promise. I love you.”
“Love you too Kook, but whatever this is tell your alpha to cut the shit. It’s freaking all of us out,” pouts Taehyung.
“Duly noted,” Jungkook says kissing Taehyung again. He leaves his bedroom and makes his way down the hall quietly opening Blue’s bedroom door.
“Dad?”
“Hey Baby Cakes, not asleep yet?”
“No…I can’t sleep.”
Jungkook is positive he knows why his daughter is having such a hard time settling down tonight and the pain in his heart settles deep. He walks in with heavy feet, as heavy as his heart feels right now. He sits on the edge of Blue’s bed as she looks up at him with large, tired eyes. He looks to the corner of the room and sees Bam and Yeontan cuddled into each other not sparing him a glance.
“Blue, I need to apologize to you for what happened tonight.”
“You need to say sorry to Auntie Jieunie and Uncle Jong-suk,” she pouts angrily. “He was really mad at you.”
“And he should be, because I would be too if anyone had done that to your Daddy. I was out of line Blue. Way out of line and I need you to know that I feel horrible about it. I already called Jieun and Jong-suk, had a long talk with them, and apologized for my behavior. And now I’m here to apologize to you.”
“Why? Why were you so mean to Auntie Jieunie?”
“I’m really not sure Blue. I wish I had a better answer, but I don’t. But I promise that I will work harder to make sure I don’t ever do that again. Not to Jieun or anyone else.”
“Is it cause you love Daddy so much? You’ve been a little more crazy with him Dad. More than you usually are I think.”
“What do you mean?” Jungkook asks, eyebrows scrunched.
“You were cutting his food today. You did it yesterday with the meat too, cutting the pork all tiny for the ramen in his bowl. He’s not a baby Dad he can do that himself,” says Blue rolling his eyes. “And you took the knife out of his hands the other day and you didn’t want him using it. He’s the actual real cook who went to school for it,” she says huffing. “And you cut all of our roses because you said he might end up hurting himself on the sharp parts after he showed them to you.”
Jungkook’s mouth drops. It isn’t until Blue points out all of his recent behaviors that he realizes he’s been acting completely ridiculous with his mate. Or his alpha has. Or both. He’s not even sure anymore. “I—I didn’t even realize I was doing any of that stuff.”
“I know you love him, but isn’t it a lot Dad?”
Jungkook tries to process all the running thoughts in his head and why or what this could all mean, but he’s exhausted and his daughter’s tired eyes are also an indication of her exhaustion as well. “It’s late Baby Cakes. Why don’t you get to sleep—“
“I forgive you Dad,” Blue says a small yawn escaping.
“You do?”
“I know that’s not how you usually are. I was a little scared, but I know you aren’t mean on purpose. So, I forgive you and I love you.”
He knows he has Taehyung to thank for their daughter being so understanding and forgiving. He really doesn’t know what he did to get so lucky to have Taehyung and Blue in his life. “I love you too Baby Cakes.”
“But Dad…maybe stop doing that to Auntie Jieunie. She can be scary when she needs to be.”
Jungkook gulps and nods. “I know, I know. Good night, Blue.”
“Night dad.”
💙💙💙💙💙💙
Taehyung stands in the bathroom gazing down at his new medication then looks up at the mirror and stares at his reflection. His thoughts are raging and building like a storm. A storm of frustration and self-doubt. He stares blankly at himself, feeling the weight of failure bearing down on his shoulders. He can’t help but feel like he was letting down not only himself but also Jungkook. They had finally come together and united their lives in a forever, in an eternal bond, but with each passing month of disappointment, Taehyung's confidence dimmed, replaced by a heavy sense of inadequacy.
The pressure of expectations was started to weigh heavily on him. Society's traditional norms and stereotypes only added to his worries, all those voices and insidious doubts grew and festered into his already troubled mind. Was he not fulfilling his duty as an omega? Was he somehow lacking in his role as Jungkook's partner? The anxiety and stress had become a constant companion, a shadow that trailed him wherever he went. Even in the times where he felt he could breathe, it lingered, an ever-present reminder of his failures. He had an appointment with Dr. Kim today who spoke about the detrimental effects of stress on his chances of conceiving and how they only added fuel to the fire of his insecurities. He knows and understands how true this is, but with each month that passed without a positive pregnancy test his wounds only deepened. The wounds of his self-esteem that were making him feel hollow and defeated.
Taehyung knew that he couldn't let his fears consume him, couldn't allow them to define his worth as a parent or as a mate. He’s been working on changing his beliefs, his fears. All of them, from his past trauma and now this. He’s trying, but it becomes harder and harder as the months tick by.
“Baby…are you in there?”
Taehyung opens the door and finds a frowning Jungkook on the other side of the door. ”Here,” the alpha says handing Taehyung a plate of fruit as he huffs. “I want you to eat that. You didn’t touch your dinner tonight and I need you to eat something.”
“I’m not hungry. My anxiety today is through the roof.”
“Tae, I really wish you would stop thinking so much about this baby thing. It’s going to be fine—“
“And I really wish you would stop saying it’s going to be fine when it’s been a year now and we still can’t get pregnant!” exclaims Taehyung moving to sit at the edge of the tub, frustration boiling over.
“Baby,” Jungkook sighs. He sits next to him and puts his arm around the omega. “You need to stop putting so much pressure on yourself--“ Jungkook glances at the pills on the counter and frowns. “Did you start those?”
“Not yet. I’m kind of nervous to be honest,” Taehyung replies putting his head on Jungkook’s shoulder.
“Did you take the test?”
“Again with that,” Taehyung responds getting up to leave the bathroom, but is quickly stopped by a hand gripping his wrist.
“The doctor said—“
“FUCK! OK FINE! YOU WANT ME TO TAKE IT?! I WILL!” Taehyung yells opening the cabinet under the sink as his temperature rises. “You want me to see yet another negative pregnancy test?! And then everyone wonders why I’m so fucking stressed out!”
“Baby--” Jungkook tries moving towards the angry omega.
“Nope! Get out! Get out so I can take your stupid fucking test!” Taehyung pushes Jungkook out of the bathroom instantly slamming the door in the alpha’s face and locking it.
Jungkook sits on the bed, feeling defeated, his thoughts a tempest in his mind. His heart feels heavy, and he knows so many unspoken words hang in the air. Words filled with his omega’s insecurities and fears. His gaze wanders to the framed photograph on the wall, capturing a moment of pure bliss and happiness—their wedding day, a moment when everything seemed simpler, before that black cloud of doubt had settled over them.
Jungkook can’t help but feel the pain of disappointment whenever he sees the sadness flicker in Taehyung's eyes, the subtle tensing of his shoulders when the topic of their inability to conceive arose. In a society where omegas were expected to have children and were almost always misunderstood and judged, Taehyung bears the weight of expectations on his shoulders, but to Jungkook, he’s perfect in every way, regardless of the inability to conceive again. He wishes Taehyung could see himself through his eyes…worthy, cherished, and deeply loved.
Jungkook yearns for the ability to erase the doubts and fears that linger in Taehyung's mind. He wants to hold him close, to whisper words of reassurance and understanding until they tattoo themselves in Taehyung's soul because despite his best efforts, Jungkook can’t shake the feeling that HE is letting Taehyung down. The fact that he can’t help Taehyung feel reassured is gnawing at him. He questions whether he’s enough, whether his love can really heal the wounds that Taehyung is carrying deep within him.
Even with all the negative thoughts, all the horrible voices cycling through his mind, one thing remains unwavering…his love for Taehyung. It’s a love that transcends anything, a love that is boundless and unconditional. Jungkook sits lost in his thoughts. He remembers back to their wedding vows. How he promised to stand by Taehyung's side, to love him fiercely and unconditionally, regardless of whether their family grew or not. He just wishes Taehyung could believe and remember that as well.
“Kook?”
Jungkook looks up and sees Taehyung standing by the door to their bathroom, blank expression on his face as he grips the pregnancy test in his hands. “What’s wrong?”
“I don’t think I can start those pills,” Taehyung says frowning as he looks down at the test.
“Why not?” Jungkook asks moving towards the omega. Taehyung stands silently staring from his mate down to the test as he hands it to Jungkook. Taehyung watches as Jungkook's expression shifts from confusion to shock, his eyes widening as he processes the meaning behind the test. Taehyung holds his breath, waiting for Jungkook's reaction.
At first, Jungkook's mind struggles to comprehend the significance of the test in his hands. He blinks, looking from Taehyung to the test and back again, his thoughts racing. Then, like a wave crashing over him, the realization hits him, and his eyes widen in surprise again.
Pregnant. Taehyung is pregnant.
The initial shock slowly melts away quickly replaced by a happiness he can’t contain. Jungkook's lips curve into a wide grin as he looks at Taehyung. He can’t believe it. They’re going to have a baby. Without a second thought, Jungkook sweeps Taehyung into his arms, lifting him off the ground in a whirl of euphoria. Taehyung laughs, finally being able to breathe as Jungkook spins him around. “It’s real right?! Kook, it’s real, isn’t it?”
Jungkook looks deep into his mate’s eyes, his husband, his forever. “It’s real Baby. It’s 100% real. We’re going to have a baby!” Gone was the Taehyung and Jungkook filled with uncertainty, with apprehension at the news of a pregnancy. Now replaced by two souls who were ready to welcome another child into their world. Only this time they would do it together.
💙💙💙💙💙💙
Everyone gathered for a cozy dinner party at Taehyung and Jungkook's house. The couple has decided the best way to let everyone know was by having them all together and share the joyous news in one go. Taehyung sat nervously at the table with Jungkook holding his hand tightly. The alpha glances to his side and gives his mate a small smile moving his chair closer leaning in and placing a small kiss on his cheek.
“You going to blush like that every single time he kisses you,” teases Jieun. “Isn’t that honeymoon stage done and dusted?”
“Never,” Jungkook quickly responds, sticking his tongue out at Jieun who smirks and raises an eyebrow. Jungkook reaches for Taehyung’s hand as the omega goes to get up. “Where are you going?”
“To get a refill on my water. I’ll be right—“
“Sit. Right now. I’ll go,” Jungkook says sternly pulling Taehyung back down in his chair and quickly rushing off to the kitchen.
“You can’t get up for water now?” snorts Jimin as he bops his son on his lap. Blue rolls her eyes and reaches for the baby’s hand.
“Dad has been like that for weeks now with Daddy. Won’t let him do anything on his own,” she says shrugging. Taehyung frowns at the comment and lets out a small gasp. Is this why Jungkook has been this overprotective, this clingy with him? Is it some sort of alpha instinct thing?
“Here you go Baby.” Jungkook places a gentle kiss on Taehyung’s head and pulls him close again.
“So…you going to tell us what all this is about honey?” Jieun asks impatiently.
“What do you mean?” Taehyung asks.
“I mean, you’ve been fidgety since we all got here and Jungkook has been annoyingly clingy and weird with you. Even more than usual. I think I have an idea why, but I’m going to let you tell us,” Jieun says sitting back in her chair waiting, arms crossed.
“Tell us what?” asks Blue curiously.
Taehyung glances at Jungkook and takes a deep breath waiting. Jungkook nods and gives him a large smile then gets up moving towards the coat closet by the front door. He pulls out a large box ornately decorated.
“Baby Cakes, come here,” Taehyung tells his daughter who curiously walks around to stand between both her parents. Jungkook places the box on the table in front of Blue and smiles down at her.
“Open it Blue,” he says in anticipation.
Blue's tiny hands grasp the box, her eyes shining with excitement as she lifts the lid. She looks down and picks up a pink t-shirt. She holds it up, eyebrows shooting up when she reads the front, “Big Sis,” she whispers out.
“Turn it around,” Taehyung says giggling. Blue quickly flips it to the other side and reads the words louder this time. “Big Sister Vibes…”
Blue's face lights up and she lets out a shriek of pure joy, her voice piercing the air. "WOOOOOOOOOOOO!! I'M GOING TO BE A BIG SISTER! YESSSSSSSS!” Blue's legs begin to bounce up and down as she jumps with sheer joy, her pigtails bobbing wildly as she spins around in circles. She is so excited that she starts to get dizzy, but she doesn’t care, she’s too busy hugging the t-shirt to her chest and squealing with glee.
“Really?!” squeals Jimin as well.
“Really,” Jungkook replies happily wrapping an arm around Taehyung’s waist. And that is the moment all chaos erupts. The room is filled with screams of congratulations and absolute elation. Jieun runs towards her best friend and stops as she glances at Jungkook.
“I would like to hug my best friend; think I can do that without getting ripped apart?” she asks pursing her lips. Jong-suk comes up behind her and places a protective hand on her waist. “Yes, Babe, you absolutely can because Jungkook and his alpha are going to dial it back.”
Jungkook takes a deep breath and nods standing back. He takes controlled steady breaths as he restrains his alpha. Jieun's eyes well up with tears as she wraps her arms tightly around Taehyung's shoulders. "Honey, I'm so happy for you!" she whispers, her voice shaking. Taehyung's eyes fill with tears as he looks at Jieun. “I'm so happy you're finally getting the forever you deserve." Taehyung thinks back on everything he had been through. The struggles, the heartbreak, the times he had felt like giving up, but Jieun is right, he is finally getting the forever he had always wanted.
"You've been through so much, Tae," Jieun whispers. "You've been through hell and back. But you're still here, and you're still strong. And now you're getting the chance to be happy, really happy." Taehyung nods, but he knows that he couldn't have made it without Jieun by his side. She had been his family, his sister, his best friend. "You deserve this, honey. You deserve to be happy.” Jieun turns and smiles at Jungkook. “And I'm so happy that you can share this with each other this time."
“That explains the possessiveness, Kook. I felt the same way with Jimin only I was able to draw mine back better than you did,” Yoongi says hugging Jungkook and patting him on the back.
“Seriously?! You think that’s what’s been going on?” Jungkook asks flabbergasted.
“Definitely,” Yoongi replies. “And I think your alpha might be oversensitive too because of what happened with the last pregnancy.”
“I wanna help take care of Daddy too!” pouts Blue running towards her father and hugging him tightly. “I’m going to be the BEST big sister EVER! And I’m going to take care of you with Dad and Bammie and Tannie will help too!”
Taehyung lets the tears fall down his cheeks as he hugs his daughter tightly. The fear of being alone and going through another pregnancy started to dissipate like smoke in the wind. He isn’t alone. He has the love of his daughter, of his alpha, and of all his friends to help guide him and his child to a healthy brighter future.
💙💙💙💙💙💙
Taehyung lay nervously on the exam table holding both Blue and Jungkook's hands as the tech runs the wand over his stomach performing the ultrasound. The omega’s eyes dart around the room, his hands trembling slightly. The cold, gel-like substance on his stomach makes him squirm uncomfortably. He is trying desperately to keep his emotions in check. Trying to keep his nerves and himself composed.
"Okay, Taehyung..." the technician says, her voice calm and reassuring. "Can you please try to lie still and relax for me? I just need to take a proper look at the baby."
Taehyung nods, trying to appear more confident than he feels. Jungkook squeezes his hand reassuringly. "You're doing great, Baby. Don’t worry, everything is going to be fine," he whispers.
The technician begins to move the ultrasound wand over Taehyung's stomach, and he feels a flutter deep in his chest. He’s been feeling good. Healthy. No pain, no cramping. He’s been taking it easy not due to any complications, but because his paranoia is a little high. His anxiety as well. He feels like he’s just waiting for things to suddenly go wrong. He’s been working on this in therapy, but it’s so difficult to move past those feelings when they have such a grip on his mind.
As the technician moves the wand, an image appears on the screen. Taehyung's heart skips a beat as he sees the tiny heart beating on the monitor. He feels a lump form in his throat as he gazes at their daughter, her face full of excitement and anticipation.
"They’re so small," Blue whispers, her voice barely audible.
The technician smiles. "You were that small too,” she tells Blue whose eyes widen as she looks at Taehyung who nods in agreement.
“How have you been feeling, Taehyung?”
“Good. Really good actually,” Taehyung says nervously. “Why…is something wrong?”
Jungkook sighs and leans in kissing Taehyung on the temple. “Baby—“
“Nothing is wrong. You and the baby are perfectly healthy. I don’t see anything of concern.”
“Are you sure?” asks Taehyung, doubt and insecurity filling his mind again.
“100% sure. They’re perfectly healthy. “Are you looking to find out the gender of the baby today?”
“Actually,” Taehyung smiles and looks at Blue. “We’re hoping you could write it down and give it to our daughter. We’re having a gender reveal party and my best friend will be handling it once she knows what the baby is.”
“Great! I’ll print out some pictures for you and get an envelope ready for the gender reveal.”
“We’re still doing that,” groans Blue. “Can’t we just find out now,” she pouts.
“Nope, Auntie Jieunie wants to do this for us and I think it’s a great idea,” Jungkook says staring at the monitor not being able to believe that their baby is the one on that screen. “We didn’t get a chance to do any of these things with you Blue so we are going all out now.”
“Fine,” relents Blue also turning her attention to the screen just as the technician reenters the room.
“Here you go,” she says handing Blue the envelope. Blue smiles as she looks at her sibling again. She doesn’t care what the envelope says. Boy or girl she can’t wait to be a big sister.
💙💙💙💙💙💙
“Jungkook,” Taehyung giggles, “you need to stop! I’m pregnant, but not completely useless” The omega yanks the sponge out of his alpha’s hands and shoves his shoulder motioning for him to move.
“Nope, absolutely not. You cooked so I’m washing the dishes. I want you to go lie on the couch in there and relax. You were at the bakery all day Baby. You both need to rest,” Jungkook says bending down placing a wet hand on Taehyung’s belly as he kisses it softly.
“You’re getting me all wet,” frowns Taehyung.
“Not yet Baby, later,” Jungkook smirks making Taehyung scrunch his nose and rolls his eyes.
“Who would have thought you would develop a pregnancy kink,” Taehyung says pushing Jungkook away.
“You have no idea how you look do you? You have no clue what it does to me to see you like that, hips getting wider, that ass” Jungkook bites his bottom lip, “and just knowing you’re having another one of my children…Baby if I could keep you naked and on that bed all day everyday…I fucking would.”
“Really? That sounds amazing alpha…think that would help my aching back or the fact that whenever I lie down the nausea starts to take over? Hmm,” Taehyung asks leaning in close hovering over Jungkook’s lips.
“Sorry Baby, I didn’t mean to be insensitive,” he says as he groans, “but I can’t help it! Your scent is so fucking intense, and you just look so sexy.”
“Daddy!”
“Nothing kills a boner quicker than being interrupted by your daughter,” says Jungkook moving defeatedly towards the sink again.
Taehyung snorts and heads out towards the living room spotting Blue, Yeontan, and Bam all huddled together. He lies on the couch tired, but content. He’s never felt happier in fact. All those fears that had gripped him, chained him, and threatened his dreams like thieves in the night, were proving to be unfounded. Irrational and unnecessary in his mind. He was healthy and aside from the minor nuisances that pregnancy brought, they were things he was easily working through.
“Daddy, look what I taught them to do!” Blue leans into her best friends and whispers, “Ok, Daddy is watching. Don’t let me down guys.” Taehyung chuckles and waits just as Jungkook enters as well. The alpha makes his way to Taehyung gently pushing him forward sitting behind him. He starts to soothingly rub his lower back making Taehyung close his eyes and sigh contently as he rests his head back on his mate. Jungkook places a kiss on his head and smiles at Blue.
“Alright Baby Cakes, let’s see it. What can they do?” Jungkook asks.
Blue picks up Yeontan and moves him to the side as she places one of her guitars in front of Bam. “Bammie, lie down,” she commands, and the Doberman obediently does as he’s told. “Bam,” she says holding up a small treat, “play guitar.” Taehyung snorts as he glances over his shoulder at Jungkook incredulously. Jungkook giving him a slight shrug of the shoulders.
In that moment, both Taehyung and Jungkook are left speechless, mouths wide open because Bam suddenly starts rubbing his paw over the guitar strings. Although the sound makes no discernible pattern to make a song, he is indeed “playing the guitar.” Blue smiles and turns her attention towards her tiny Pomeranian who seems poised to have his turn in the spotlight. “Bam play guitar,” she repeats, and Bam obeys again. “Tannie sing,” she commands. Yeontan starts to bark as Bam paws the guitar making Blue beam and clap her hands proudly.
“What the fuck?!”
“Baby!” Jungkook says laughing, back hugging Taehyung rubbing his stomach as the omega shakes his head in disbelief. “Amazing job Baby Cakes! You too boys!”
“How the…Blue…how did you do that?!” Taehyung exclaims as he watches his daughter give the two new musicians a cookie each.
“Cookies,” she says matter-of-factly as she gives her parents a shrug. “It was easy! Come on guys,” she calls as she runs off to her room followed by her two close companions.
Taehyung frowns and turns to look at Jungkook. “Did that really happen? Or is this pregnancy turning my brain to mush?”
Jungkook laughs and hugs Taehyung tightly. He lets out a small, hitched breath and places his chin on his omega’s shoulder. “Thank you.”
“Hmm?” Taehyung asks curiously. “Thank you? For what Kook?”
“For all of this. For giving me all of this. This life. I’m so fucking happy Tae. Everyday I wake up happier than the day before so…thank you.”
Taehyung leans back and smiles. He suddenly moves forward and starts to lift off the couch holding his hand out for Jungkook. “Come on...”
“Where?”
“I believe you promised me you would make me all wet…well I’m ready to drip alpha,” smirks Taehyung.
“Fuck,” Jungkook says biting his lip. “Thank you indeed.”
💙💙💙💙💙💙
Jungkook takes a deep breath as he tries to keep his alpha controlled and at bay which is proving difficult with the amount of people that are hovering and touching his omega. It’s late afternoon and the sun is splitting the trees shining its warm orange glow upon the gender reveal party that Jieun has thrown for the family. She has gone through the painstaking process of making sure every detail was done to absolute perfection. The omega is a perfectionist, and nothing less than stellar work will be accepted.
This party is the impeccable indication of that perfection. Harking back to Blue’s birthday party a while back, Jieun decided to return to the theme she knows her babies have always loved…rock and roll. The theme was strewn throughout as balloons and streamers decorated the backyard of the couple’s home. A beautiful cake and other array of sweet delicacies adorn the table all lovingly baked and displayed by Hobi.
“Ok everyone! It’s that time! Can everyone gather around please?” Jieun instructs trying to corral all the guests towards where she has intricately setup the gender reveal to take place.
“Thank god,” mumbles Jungkook making his way towards Taehyung pulling him away from everyone and finally having him close to himself and only himself.
“Kook…you don’t have to scent me. I already smell like you,” chuckles Taehyung. “Everyone here already knows we belong to you alpha.”
Jungkook ignores the comment and buries his nose deeper into Taehyung’s neck, nipping gently. His alpha is a possessive, anxiety filled mess, and in turn so is he. “How are you feeling? The baby? Maybe you should sit down for the reveal. Hang on Baby, let me get a chair—“
“Kook,” Taehyung says softly as he cups Jungkook’s face, “We are fine. I haven’t even been standing for that long today. Breathe Kook. Breathe,” he tells him placing a gentle kiss on his lips.
“I’m sorry. I—“ Jungkook lets out a puff of air, “My alpha is driving me crazy.”
“Your alpha or you Kook,” Taehyung says smiling as he shakes his head. “I love you so much you know that? I just need you to know how amazing this has felt for me. I—“ Taehyung takes a deep breath and glances at his daughter who is currently huddled in deep conversation with Jieun and Jimin, “with Blue…I struggled so much. I missed you so much Kook and I was so scared all the time. But this time…it’s so different. I’m not so scared anymore. I’m actually enjoying being pregnant this time,” he says not being able to even believe he’s saying the words. “And I owe it all to you…and all of them,” Taehyung says pointing at their friends, their family. “I’ve never felt more supported, more taken care of…more loved in my life Kook. Most especially from you.” Jungkook’s eyes water and he pulls Taehyung in closer. “And they feel it too. Look,” Taehyung places Jungkook’s hand on his swollen belly. Jungkook’s eyes widen as he feels movement under the palm of his hand. “See…that’s how happy they are when they feel their father close, when they feel you close. They love you just as much as I do.”
Jungkook bites his bottom lip to keep it from quivering as he holds back tears. He had been vacant, a void in Taehyung and Blue’s life for so long. He had missed endless firsts, endless new experiences, but now in this moment he knows how much he was given a second chance. No, not just a second chance…a new life. A new start to a future filled with endless possibilities and one filled with love. He had always assumed loneliness was the only card he had been dealt in his dire, bleak life, but he hadn’t banked on his trump card…Taehyung. “I love you, fuck I just love you so much. Why did it take us so long to get here—“
“It doesn’t matter how long it took us, what matters is that we’re here. And we are going to live everyday happy with our children and with each other. We aren’t going to take any of this for granted because we know how easily things could change. I love you Jungkook. I always have and I always will. Forever.”
“Forever,” replies Jungkook placing his forehead against Taehyung’s.
“Kook, Tae, we’re ready and setup,” Yoongi interrupts smiling widely, his baby sleeping soundly in his arms. Taehyung and Jungkook both turn their attention to their daughter who is holding a small guitar in her hands. Two large light and smoke machines are strategically placed, flanked by an even larger black towering speaker. Taehyung jumps when Metallica’s Enter Sandman starts blaring through, the sound making his chest vibrate as it carries and settles deep within making him feel chills on his skin.
“Baby Cakes…is that a new guitar?” asks Jungkook curiously.
“I got it for her,” Jieun responds smirking.
“Another one? Jie—“
“Don’t worry honey, it’s just a prop,” Jieun answers winking at Blue who grips the handle of the guitar with both hands and smiles mischievously.
“A prop?” asks Taehyung confused. Jieun had kept them both in the dark. Refusing to give them any details on the party or how they would reveal the gender of the new Kim Jeon baby. But now came the moment, the moment everyone was waiting for. Blue’s moment to finally let everyone know whether she would be a big sister to a little brother or a little sister.
Blue smiles and turns to her parents, “Daddy, Dad…ready?”
Jungkook wraps his arm around Taehyung’s waist and hugs him close. “Ready Baby Cakes, let’s do it!”
Blue nods and looks at Jimin and Jieun waiting for the signal. Jieun smiles and gives her a slight nod. Without any hesitation, without any fear or apprehension, Blue grips the guitar tightly and in true rock star fashion smashes the guitar against the ground startling both Taehyung and Jungkook. What comes next can only be described as controlled chaos. The smashed guitar shatters to reveal a powdered colored smoke that now drifts and covers the ground in a colored hue of fog. The smoke and light machines all go off, releasing smoke and lights that all reflect and mirror the hues of the ground.
Taehyung’s breath hitches and he can feel Jungkook’s grip on him tighten…blue. A beautiful haze of blue, slowly consuming everything as it overtakes the whole ground surface and the air around them, surrounding them in the color that means so much to them, the color that lives deep within their souls.
“We’re having a boy,” whispers Taehyung, eyes tearing. He pulls Jungkook in a hug, the alpha already crying, tears cascading down his cheeks in streams. “Kook…we’re having a boy,” he repeats just as Jungkook kisses him deeply. Taehyung can taste Jungkook’s salty tears as he kisses him back letting his own tears fall.
“Thank you,” cries Jungkook into the kiss, “Thank you. I will forever thank you for giving me this life Taehyung. For the children you’ve gifted me with, for giving me your heart again, for giving me my ability to breathe again.”
“You’ve given me the same Kook; you’ve given all that to me too!”
“Daddy!! Dad!! I’m going to have a baby brother,” Blue sing songs dancing around her parents who both release giggles and laughs. Taehyung takes Blue’s hand and pulls her close. Jungkook picks her up and the omega wraps his arms around them both hugging them as tightly as he can. He’s never letting go.
Yoongi, Jimin, Hobi, Jieun and Jong-suk all stand staring proudly at the small family. Yoongi glances at Jieun and smiles, eyes watering. Jieun gives him a small nod, a silent acknowledgment of everything Yoongi is thinking and feeling…everything they all are. It’s been a long time coming, but they made it. Her babies have found their forever and she couldn’t be happier.
“Are we ever going to tell them exactly what we did?” asks Hobi. “How much we actually were involved in all of this?”
Jieun continues to smile as she catches Taehyung’s gaze. They smile at each other, and she shakes her head. “Does it even matter anymore?” Operation Taekook had been a roaring success, but as Jieun stares at her best friend, surrounded lovingly by his family, she feels it was only a matter of time before fate corrected itself. That almost was always meant to be a forever.
