Work Text:
Elizabeth and Evan were sat in Evan's bedroom, Evan's homework book was open and he was currently writting quietly. Elizabeth was drawing bored. Then she cast a glance at Evan and smiled as a plan formed.
"Hey Evan, you got any girls you like?" Elizabeth asked as Evan looked up suprised. He visably blushed, looking away.
"N-no, not yet." Evan answered as he looked back down at his work. Elizabeth wasn't swayed, looking at him skeptical. Evan was always easy to read, at least for her anyway.
"Your lying, I know it." Elizabeth said. Evan blushed more as he thought of someone. Elizabeth raised her eyebrows in glee with seeing her older brother all flustered like this. She always loved to play with him.
"come on, tell me. I'm your sister, You know I'd never tell a soul" Elizabeth said. Evan pouted, and sighed. he held up his pinky, something they always did to promsie they wouldn't tell a soul.
"pink promise?" Evan asked, titling his head. he had to know that Elizabeth wouldn't tell a soul. Not to her freinds and certainly not to micheal. He didn't like Micheal, despite him already having moved on from scaring him, as he had a family now, but Evan still didn't like him.
"pink promise" Elizabeth said, interlocking their pinkies. They shook on it and Evan sighed as he started to tell her.
"Well..It's uh-" Evan paused, still unsure. Evan remembered when they were younger, Elizabeth would tell his embarrassing secrets he told her and Micheal would bully him. So what if she hasn't done that for a long time? She could still change."It's Charlotte." Evan said quickly focusing on his homework again.
Elizabeth sat there quiet before smiling smugly. "Knew it, you always liked her." Elizabeth said playfully, as Evan blushed.
He looked up, sighing."Was it really that obivous?" Evan asked, looking at her. Elizabth nodded. It was very obivous, the way he looked at her all soft and happy, and Charlotte looked at him the same way.
the two sat in silence for a moment before Evan asked "...do you have a crush?" Elizabeth stopped, looking at him. She blushed a little before pouting.
"Yeah..but it's girl.." Elizabeth admitted shyly, looking down. Evan looked suprised. ut clearly recovered.
"Thats ok." Evan said, writting more down his homework. Elizabeth looked up, quiet.
"really...?" Elizabeth blinked, unsure. She couldn't meet his eyes, still nervous.
"really." Evan said smiling, and Elizabeth smiled at him. They hugged and stayed like that for a while. Elizabeth was relieved Evan hated her for liking a girl.
They departed, smiling at each other. "so, who is it?" Evan asked, smiling at her.
Elizabeth blushed and mumbled "Susie...". Evan nodded, humming. They were pretty close, ever since they were kids.
They soon fell into a silence and continued to doodle and do homework together.
