“San Lang.”
“Mmmh.”
“San Lang, get up…”
“Can’t…. so tired…”
Xie Lian sighed. “You’ll sleep better in bed. So come with me, alright?”
But his boyfriend lay listless on the couch, an arm covering his eyes. Xie Lian stood next to him, helpless.
After a few seconds, Hua Cheng moved his arm and peeked up at him. “Carry me up to bed?”
Xie Lian was speechless for a moment before he huffed a half-fond, half-exasperated laugh. “Alright, if that’s what it takes.” Quickly maneuvering Hua Cheng up, he grabbed his hips and hoisted him onto his shoulder like a potato sack.
An indignant yelp let him know this was not what Hua Cheng had expected. “Gege!”
“What? I’m carrying you to bed.” He opened the door to their room and (carefully) threw Hua Cheng on the mattress.
Looking speechless for a moment, his boyfriend slowly regained his composure, crossing his legs on the sheets. “Well, as always, I’m very impressed by gege’s strength.”
Xie Lian hummed in acknowledgment as he quickly changed into his sleeping shorts and joined Hua Cheng in bed. “You said you were tired,” he mumbled into the pillow, “so sleep now.”
He felt Hua Cheng’s gaze on him for a few more seconds before the other complied with a soft laugh and turned off the light. He slipped under the covers too and found Xie Lian easily, wrapping himself around him.
“Mh. You were right. I’m sure I’ll sleep better here with you.”
“Hush.”
Xie Lian got a kiss on the cheek as an apology and another on his temples as a good night, and they drifted off to sleep peacefully.
