Work Text:
The large ocean stretched out before Itsuki and her girlfriend, warm rays of sunlight refracting on the water’s surface. As the two girls sat on a small bench on the edge of the sea, they held their ice cream cones and stared out into that skyline.
Itsuki took another lick of her two scoops—chocolate and yoghurt—as she placed her other hand down beside herself on the bench. Absent-mindedly she let the two flavours blend together in her mouth, combining both to create one, more powerful flavour. As if on cue, she felt a sensation on the hand resting on the bench—Fuyu’s hand now laid over hers.
Itsuki turned her head to the girl, and spotted a warm smile staring back at her. With a giggle, Itsuki broke the ice and spoke first.
“You like it?”
“It’s sooooo good.” Fuyu almost squealed. “I’ve never had ice cream as good as this back in China. How’d you find this place?”
“Oh, I used to go here all the time with my grandma! It’s not expensive, and it just tastes so good.”
“Your grandma definitely has good taste.” Fuyu said, a smile colouring her face again. In that moment, Itsuki noticed something on her cheek. A small speck of raspberry ice cream.
“Oh, Fuyu-san.” She remarked, already reaching a hand forward. “You’ve got something on your face…” She placed a hand on Fuyu’s face, and while the girl remained unmoving, wiped the speck off her face with her thumb—an action she performed entirely too slowly. As the speck disappeared, Itsuki’s gaze moved back to meet Fuyu’s eyes.
There they sat, Itsuki’s hand still cupping Fuyu’s cheek, as the two stared into each other’s eyes. Neither dared to speak, neither dared to move. Well, until one of them did. And from there, the corresponding actions flowed forth like rivers, naturally so. The underlying reasons were obvious.
Itsuki leaned forward, and planted her lips upon Fuyu’s without any resistance. Almost instinctively, Fuyu leaned further into Itsuki, placing a hand on her arm as she reciprocated her kiss. They melted into each other there, their souls becoming one on that bench for a brief moment, until Itsuki had to pull back at risk of suffocating.
Fuyu stared at the girl with a slightly agape mouth, one that turned into a cheeky—and somewhat embarrassed smile—as her cheeks lit up a bright red.
“Was that… your first kiss?” Fuyu’s words were muffled under her breath, but in the close proximity Itsuki’s face still stood, she had no trouble discerning them.
“Yeah… I think this was a pretty good one.” She giggled.
