Chapter 2: Prologue Two

Chapter Text

As they walked, Fox kept his head straight ahead, but his eyes kept darting back to keep watch on the two behind him. The second he let his guard down they were going to kill him, weren’t they? He was out-weaponed, outmanned, and had nothing on him. Fox didn’t even have a way to reach his team, if they were still alive. He also was the only one who had both of his hands cuffed and attached to the others. One his left, there was the current Venomian emperor who he killed the only family of. On his right, there was his long-term rival who had been dying to get a chance to kill him for years. He was absolutely fucked. Fox’s tail twitched nervously, but he kept walking straight ahead. He didn’t even look down, only to the side and ahead.

That proved to be a problem when a short scream came from his left and the force of something dropping tugged him to the left side.

Fox barely had enough time to desperately grab the edge of the giant hole before the force of gravity dragged both him and Andrew down. He only had one hand as well, the other being pulled more into the dark presumed mouth of a cave. His fingers slipped, as another scream came out from the simian under him.

They both would have plummeted, had it not been for Wolf managing to keep his grip on the surface with his feet and legs, while his arms and hands dangled towards them. THe canine grunted, then muttered something. Fox cocked his head at him.

“I said,” Wolf’s body moved slightly forward, Fox slightly lowering in tandem “ya’ll lucky you’re both pretty light.”

“Why are you grunting then?”
“I’ll drop you pup.” Wolf growled, but it was broken off by another scream coming from under Fox, again.

“Dimour, Andrew, you’re fine, stop fucking screaming.” Wolf moved forward more, now his boots just barely off the edge. Fox tried to grab onto something with his higher hand, but the walls were completely and oddly smooth. Not something that would occur naturally.

“DON’T GET ANY CLOSER! STAY DOWN THERE!” What the hell was that kid yelling at now? Fox looked back, his head only moving so much and not granting him full view. But he could see the far side of something’s circular mouth before it turned and fled back deeper into the cave.

Fox began to start falling again, before stopping once more after he had fallen another 4 feet. Wolf was now grabbing onto the ledge with only his right hand, and even that was shaking.

“Don’t let go now!” Andrew yelled from below Fox.

“Kinda hard to guarantee that, kid!” Wolf shouted back, and Fox’s ears flattened more towards his head, he was going to get tired of being in the middle very quickly.

“I’m not a kid!”

“The hell you aren’t,” That part was mumbled, Wolf’s tail hitting Fox in the face, before the canine raised his voice again “You’re 16! You are still a kid!”

“I’ve been through two wars! I’m not a kid anymore!” It wouldn’t take a psychic to notice how Wolf flinched (and slightly lessened his grip on the edge) and his ears dropped.

“Yeah, you did, and it’s something I regret!”

“Wha-” Andrew cut himself off with a scream as Wolf’s hand slipped, and they all fell, plummeting deeper into the cave.
