Work Text:
Will has always left her verses tucked all around the house, that she will find them while he is away and think of him. The couplet Judith found when she could puzzle out some of the letters but didn't yet know the meaning--Will learned to hide things better after that, and to keep the rude ones for where only Annie is like to find them.
Kit finds one, two days after Will's last breath, and sits staring at it, eyes wet.
Having him there is an unlooked-for gift, and the shared pain, too.
Annie reads it aloud, voice clear.
