Chapter 14: 010 - The Characters as Animals

Summary:

Animals that remind me several Outlast characters. Not including niche ones, however. [like the basic variants you'll see around Murkoff, or the random ass farmers you see in Temple Gate lol. Nor Loutermilch, because I'd rather not disrespect an animal by connecting them to him. Nasty man.]

Notes:

TW for snake image in Knoth's section.

(See the end of the chapter for more notes.)

Chapter Text

Miles

THE HONEY BADGER

- BRAVE, COURAGEOUS, FEARLESS -

Like the honey badger, Miles is brave, rushes into an environment without regard for his own safety, and doesn't leave until the job's done. The honey badger fights animals - or enemies - that are much bigger than it, and this 100% suits Miles and his perseverance when it came to exposing a large government project.

Waylon

THE BLACK BEAR

- DIRECT, ADAPTIVE, CONFLICT AVOIDANT -

Like the black bear, Waylon disapproves of violence, choosing a pacifist approach when it comes to things, but he can and will fight if the situation so calls for it. He adapts, and does what he needs to.

Blake

THE ROUGH COLLIE

- BRAVE, AFFECTIONATE, SOMEWHAT SHY -

The rough collie - also known as Lassie dogs! - is known for its bravery and herding abilities; Blake's affectionate nature combined with his bravery remind me of the things he went through all to rescue his wife, even though he suffered greatly because of it. I say "somewhat shy", because he's quiet when he needs to be [and the flashback of when he was child gave me shy vibes].

Lynn

THE KANGAROO

- FEISTY, SKITTISH, FRIENDLY -

Like the kangaroo, Lynn has shown some aggression when it comes to being touched by Knoth's cult, but eventually gave in, and became frightened. When not in conflict, Lynn has been shown to be friendly, and even empathetic when describing Jane Doe.

Jessica

THE BUNNY

- SHY, SWEET, PURE -

Jessica is literally a bunny, don't even prove me wrong. Sweet, kind, and didn't deserve any of the treatment she received from Loutermilch and her father.

Walrider

THE WASP

- AGGRESSIVE, STUBBORN, INTELLIGENT -

Like the wasp, the Walrider is aggressive with its attacks, stubborn and refuses to back down from its pursuits, and incredibly intelligent, knowing how to outdo its enemies.

Trager

THE RAVEN

- PLAYFUL, SECRETIVE, INTELLIGENT -

Ravens are the "misfits" of the animal world; much like a raven, Richard has a scary sense of intelligence, which combines with his playful nature. He'll play tag with you, but he'll know to block any exits, so he can catch you.

Jeremy

THE BLUE JAY

- AGGRESSIVE, BETRAYING, LAWLESS -

Bluejays have many traits, but they are mostly known for their bullying against other birds and their loud nature. Aggressive and ready to betray if it means benefiting him, Jeremy displays traits commonly seen in blue jays. He's also quite "loud" when it comes to his aura.

Chris

THE INDIAN WILD BOAR

- VERSATILE, AGGRESSIVE, DETERMINED -

Little Pig is a boar! How peculiar!

Wild boars are versatile and can adapt to their surroundings, much like Chris himself. He doesn't let anybody stop him from accomplishing his mission.

Marta

THE CROW

- MISUNDERSTOOD, SECRETIVE, AGGRESSIVE -

Much like crows, Marta is a misunderstood individual who is aggressive against others for threatening her, or her "murder". Not much is known about her, or why she harms people, which leads to her misunderstood existence.

Knoth

THE BLACK-HEADED PYTHON

- DECEPTIVE -

Knoth is nothing but a snake, spinning lies with a slithering tongue, and ready to betray anybody he sees fit in the eyes of the Lord. He eats his own kind, and slithers away into the darkness afterwards.

Val

THE PEACOCK

- INTRASEXUAL, CONFIDENT, DRAMATIC -

Val's sexual nature definitely lines up with how peacocks tend to mate with several peahens during mating season, albeit the gender doesn't matter to Val in this context. Confident in their abilities, and fond of making dramatic entrances, Val is a peacock in their own right, their feathers a pitch black and dripping with corruption.

Notes:

For Val's section I honestly couldn't pick between a fox or a peacock. I was originally giving Knoth the peacock, but it def fit Val much better.

Fun fact; a bunch of blue jays come to my apartment [as well as crows and squirrels] because I have nuts on my balcony. I feed them, or if I'm not home or available, they feed themselves. I have 5 little Jeremys at my damn apartment DAILY. At least pay me!! [They're lucky I love them. Blue jays are cool.]

Y'all would love Linda, though. Linda's a huge black squirrel and she's always so polite! She'll politely stand up and ask for nuts while patiently waiting for me to grab her a handful. She's a doll, bless her. There's also a Ricky, whom I call Richard cause he's a prick like Trager lol. He's a grey squirrel and he's...kinda dumb. Bless.

Notes:

I began writing this on my birthday. Lol. I couldn't wait.
