Work Text:
Sometimes, Yiyong had these urges. They all turned around Cao Guangyan.
“Will you stop biting me at the slightest inconvenience?”
“No. You’re annoying.”
“Because I don’t want to be bitten?”
Yiyong glared and curled his lip. Guangyan was staring back with as much intention. Yiyong wanted to jump from his chair to Guangyan’s and bring him down. Yiyong wanted to hold him down. Yiyong wanted to bite his neck and leave his teeth mark behind. Yiyong wanted to mark him black and blue with his mouth. Yiyong wanted to-
Yiyong surged, only to be stopped right in his tracks by the police officer. When had she come in between them?
“No more street-cat fights for today,” declared Chuying. “I’ve had enough. And you are in a police station.”
Sometimes, Yiyong did not even need a provocation. A single glance towards Guangyan was enough.
“Ouch! What have I done?”
“Nothing. You exist.”
Guangyan had been peacefully studying in Yiyong’s room. Until the moment when Yiyong bit his arm, his focus had seemed unbreakable.
“How was I ever afraid of you,” he said, rubbing his arm. “You’re basically a cat.”
“Cats have claws. And teeth.”
“And they bite their own tail and chase laser lights. Not exactly a light themselves.”
For only reply, Yiyong grabbed Guangyan’s arm and bit it once more.
Sometimes, Yiyong felt the weight of Guangyan’s stare. But when he looked back at him, Yiyong hardly could find the usual annoyance on his face.
Yiyong was resting, still recovering from his coma. The sunlight just hit his room right to get his very own sun-patch in his bed. He closed his eyes, in the vain hope to nap. He heard someone enter his room, and by the sound of the footsteps, it was Guangyan.
Yiyong waited a bit before gracing Guangyan with his full presence. When he opened his eyes, Guangyan was sitting next to his bed, staring at him.
Yiyong could not quite decipher this stare. It made him feel warm. Maybe his blood was boiling.
“What you’re looking at?” asked groggily Yiyong.
“Oh, nothing,” smiled Guangyan.
“Stop or I’ll bite you."
“Go back to your nap instead. I’m not leaving.”
It only made Yiyong want to bite him even deeper.
Sometimes, Yiyong could feel himself being on the verge of a revelation.
They started to share a bed again. Yiyong did not remember who asked first, or if someone asked at all. Guangyan and he shared a bed, things were coming back to normal.
The inconvenience of sleeping in the same bed only appeared when Yiyong woke up from a nightmare, unable to fall back asleep. Guangyan was far, far away in the land of dreams. At least one of them was sleeping.
Guangyan’s breathing was calm, slow, regular. As it should be.
Yiyong turned around, facing the sleeping man. In the moonlight, between the shadows, Guangyan’s skin seemed to shine. Yiyong wanted to stroke his neck, just to see if Guangyan’s skin was as soft as it seemed. He wanted to let his fingers run all over him. He wanted to caress him with his lips-
Yiyong bit his own lip so hard he had to take a tissue to stop the bleeding.
And sometimes, Yiyong did not want to open any boxes at all.
