Work Text:
Julia had to leave, she didn't know where she had to go but she couldn't stand her perfect house, everything in perfect condition with perfect people living in it, Julia hated it so much. So she left.
Her feet hammered the ground as her worn Converse grew muddy from slamming into the puddles on the ground Julia's hair was soaked but she just kept running. Her mind was directing her somewhere she didn't even know. Then she was standing on the train platform. She got on the final train and climbed into an empty cart, usually she would sit on her phone but she didn't want to look at it she didn't want to see what people were saying about her.
She crawled off the platform two stops later suddenly feeling a lot more tired than before. The old, probably slow, clock on the wall read 11:52 PM. Julia still ran through the tiredness she wanted to crawl into her warm bed and hide from the world but she couldn't, she had to see MK.
She walked up to MK's door and rang the bell. She knew MK's parents and brothers were either away for college or some other event so MK would answer the door and then standing infront of her was a short girl who she knew so well, her beanie was placed lopsidedly on her head, her hair was covering her eyes and she wore a oversized t-shirt with black joggers.
"Hi." Was the only words Julia was able to make out weakly before MK dragged her inside and up too her room. Julia immediately collapsed in the bed and looked around seeing an abandoned video game and cup of coffee. MK rushed back in with a towel and a hoodie still in silence but the silence still screamed so many words. Julia slowly wrapped the towel around her shoulders while sinking into the bed beneath her.
"Why- What are you- Are you okay?" MK said lowering herself to beside the taller girl there was a worried pang in her voice, a irk of despair in the usual sarcastic drawl that she spoke with.
"I just needed a break." Julia responded quietly, almost in a whisper.
"Well I'm here if you want to talk you know, like seriously I care about you Jules." Julia's heart jumped to her throat at the nickname, she really wanted to open up to MK, let her into the maze of complicated thoughts that Julia is made of but it was hard. Julia was meant to be strong and cold, not a loser who told her only real friend that she was lesbian.
Julia pushed every emotion and thought running through her brain deep down so she couldn't feel it anymore and started talking. "I..think I'm lesbian." Her voice quivered and she already regretted even coming to see her friend.
"That's cool! Thanks for telling me. I appreciate you trusting me." It felt like a weight lifted off Julia's shoulders when she heard those words, MK wasn't completely and utterly disgusted and disappointed in her. That makes one person she thought to herself. After she told the raven haired girl one thing it's like the emotions spilled over like a boiling kettle.
"Can I be honest?" MK just made a yes sound and leaned her head against Julia's shoulder. "Stuffs been crazy, since total drama finished I've been getting massive amounts of hate from everyone. People hate me and your the only who doesn't. I genuinely don't know why but when I look at you my brain just goes blank. I think I'm going crazy..."
It felt good to get that off her chest.

MK POV!!
------------
Julia came to MK first. She was the only person who doesn't hate Julia, in Julia's eyes. They were the only two thoughts that circled MK's head after Julia ranted to MK about life pretty much.
"I will never hate you Julia. I know it doesn't count as much as your thousands of followers but I just want you to know." She didn't know what she was saying words were just spilling out, she was a book with too many pages. A song that no-one paused.
"It means a lot more from you than any of my followers."
That's when Mary Kate realised she loved Julia. They were both bitches who only had eachother. They could be themselves around eachother and it was perfect, everything about Julia was perfect. Her blonde hair that fell perfectly around her shoulders and her flawless skin, the way she spoke her mind, no matter what. Everything about Julia was perfect.
"God, I'm sorry MK, I'm sorry for bothering you in the middle of the night cause I got a few hate comments this is stupid I'll leave."
Then MK was moving on her own she grabbed Julia's hand and pulled her back. Before Julia could say anything the shorter girl leaned up and placed a soft kiss on her lips. It wasn't a long kiss, they weren't desperate for eachother, it was soft and warm. It left a funny feeling in MK's stomach and a tingly sensation on her lips.
"I'm sorry." This time it was the raven haired girls turn to apologize for something stupid.
Julia just pulled her close wrapping her arms around the shorter girl. They stood like that for a while. They didn't care about the rest of the world, they had eachother.
It was MK and Julia, always, forever.
