Chapter Text
Far away from the Sun Kingdom, deep in the forests of the Star Kingdom, the dark hound and mechanical being searched for their master’s former apprentice, the fallen dryad Branch. The organic and mechanical creations of the fallen fairy had been walking since their master sent them to the Star Kingdom, coming upon no traces of civilization so far in their search. Thus far there was no signs of the fallen dryad located by Shard’s creations, or any signs of a spirit nearby. There was not even any signs of mortals but for some reason the two creations halted their movements. What was happening? The two creations of Shard were nowhere near the Star Kingdom palace. They had not found Branch. But against their programing something had caused the two creations to stop.
The two were about to continue their search for Branch when an intense pain resonated through the dark hound’s and mechanical being’s bodies. Pained screams passed snarled lips, pulsating throughout the dark hound and mechanical being. A blinding light emanated from the dark hound and mechanical being as the pulsating pain engulfed their bodies. Light flickered as cracks loomed about the creations’ limbs and torso. Error marks flashed across the mechanical being’s vision as the dark hound’s body convulsed with waves after wave of pain. Light encompasses the dark hound and mechanical being as the writhing pain overtaking the two, forcing them to the ground.
In a matter of moments the light dissipated from the mechanical being, only a few lingering sparks still clinging to the being’s glamoured human form. The light about the dark hound remained, shifting the beast’s form as it grew brighter and more intense. Limbs lengthened as a tail receded. Paws became hands as a face and hair emerged, framing a strong and well-defined face. When the light finally faded from the dark hound the creature turned in to a tall and lean, dark-skinned human male with dreadlocks and a scar running over his right eye. The human man collapsed upon the ground beside the mechanical being, the softly muttered cry of “Juliana” dying on his lips as he lost consciousness.
The two lay upon the ground unconscious and exposed, vulnerable to everything that passed them. For what might have been hours or days they remained in that state. There was no one about to help the two fallen beings, or so it seemed. Hidden amongst the trees, comfortably nestled in the branches, a dryad with shorn vines stood. She gazed upon the human and mechanical being with cruel, mischievous eyes. A smile crept about the dryad’s bark-like face as she summoned her vines. Plants wrapped about the human’s and mechanical being’s limbs, lifting them off the ground. The dryad leaped through the trees, vines following after her, as she drew the two unconscious mortals in the direction of her hideout. Shard was dead but their creations could still be of use in reeking havoc upon the Enchanted Forest and the Twelve Kingdoms.
