Alejandro had lost. His legs were a mangled mess and he had lost out on one million dollars. He signed up to the show to get away from his family, beat his brother and take off. Move back to Spain and become a lion tamer. When he got to the finale he thought it might be possible. Getting away from his family, starting a new life but that chance disappeared the minute Heather pushed him down a volcano. Now every other cast member was having a party and he sat outside the hotel on a bench. The sun was going down over Hawaii and he sighed watching it slowly disappear over the horizon. Alejandro felt tears threatening to prick at his eyes, he dropped his head and covered his face with his hands.
He heard footsteps behind him and whipped his head around hoping it was just a hotel guest, he was met with a familiar pair of deadpan eyes and fluffy brown hair. It was Noah, a contestant he had eliminated in the competition.
“Hi.” Alejandro said to the boy in front of him.
“Why are you not inside?” Noah immediately shot back at him.
“Why are you not inside either?” Alejandro questioned him.
“I don’t like parties, I thought you would, eel.”
“I do most of the time, I just don’t think many people would like to see me. How come you out here, did you want to see me?”
“No. I just thought I’d come see if you're okay, your legs look beat up.”
“Awh, you care about me?” Alejandro jokes, Noah had been the first person he’d talked to since the finale.
“I- Uh- No.” Noah responded, his cheeks flushed red.
He studied Noah in the sunset, his brown hair was fluffy and his brown eyes were detailed and they studied his green ones. He had a slightly ruffled jumper and a tired expression on his face. He realized they were all staring at each other and coughed awkwardly staring down at his legs.
He came over and sat beside Alejandro carefully studying his legs, he carefully pressed his finger against one of the burns, Alejandro’s leg flared in pain he winced and curled in on himself.
“Y’know I considered you a friend.” Noah spoke up.
“I guess I considered you one too.” Alejandro responded, there was a quiver in his voice from the pain in his legs slowly subsiding.
“Wow. Is it a normal activity for you to push friends out of planes?” Noah deadpanned, staring him in the eyes.
“It’s become a recurring theme in the recent weeks.” Alejandro watched a smirk grow slightly on Noah’s face. For some reason Alejandro had that smile imprinted into his brain, it was so rare but so nice, it’s like tasting a sweet slither in a bitter morning coffee.
“You're still an eel.” Noah smirked. “I was on your team though, to win. You spent all that time manipulating people, it wouldn't have been easy to just lie.”
“Yeah it wasn’t, but if you were on my team why didn't you say.” Alejandro appreciated Noah feeling bad for him but it still made his heart sink, he didn’t know why but a pang hit him deep in his chest just making him want to scream. The fact that Noah was too ashamed to admit he was on Alejandro’s team.
“I don’t know. I didn’t want everyone to hate me and everyone else was on another team. It was weird.”
Alejandro's eyes flickered up to meet Noah’s.
“Guapo, your words hurt me. Why weren’t you on my team?” Alejandro practically whispered to Noah the hurt in his chest rose to his throat.
“You don’t have to do the fake flirting Alejandro, it doesn’t work on me, I saw right through you since the beginning.”
“What if it's not fake..?” Alejandro smirked, part of him wanted to believe it was a joke but he was flirting with Noah. The shorter boy's face flushed dark red.
“Your not to bad yourself, Aṉpē.” Noah laughed to himself and Alejandro felt blush creeping up his neck.
“What does that mean?” Alejandro said leaning in closer to Noah. The other boy didn’t lean back; he only moved closer.
Alejandro could feel Noah’s breath on his face, all his worries about losing Total Drama, and what everyone else thought about him faded away. All he could think about was the boy in front of him, his fluffy brown hair that fell over his eyes, his eyes, his warm but rare smile that Alejandro held so close to his heart. He felt his heart pick up as he was suddenly hyper aware of everything around him.
“Do you wanna do this..?” The Spaniard whispered to Noah.
He felt a pair of lips on his soft, warm ones that moved in sync with his. The breeze from the Hawaii air blew the pair’s hair about. Everything about it felt perfect, then he realized how much he had cared for Noah. All the feeling he had shoved down into the pit of his stomach during the game, when he pushed Noah out of a plane. The feelings when Noah called him an eel, everything bad that happened melted away as he only focused on the boy whose lips were now pressed against his.
He slowly pulled away and breathed heavily, staring at Noah. Admiring every feature on his perfect face.
“I- Uh…Sorry.” Noah managed to whisper in his ear.
“Don’t apologize mi amor.” Alejandro said, his heart filling with warmth as he pressed Noah’s lips against his.
Noah was better than a million dollars anyway.
