Work Text:
Akito stepped off the stage, grabbing his water bottle off the small table kept next to a worn down sofa. An and Kohane had relaxed onto the sofa, complimenting each other on their outstanding performances tonight.
“Akito?” Toya looked over at Akito, “Could you hand me my water, please?” Akito nodded and grabbed Toya’s water bottle off the table, tossing it over to him.
“ Haa… ” Akito wiped the sweat off his forehead with the back of his hand.
“I think we did pretty good tonight. An, you sounded really good.” Akito complimented as he set down his water. She responded with something along the lines of ‘ complimenting me won't get you free pancakes, I won't be so easily swayed by your façade!’ it went in one ear and out the other.
Akito yawned, it was already pretty late at night.
Toya handed his water bottle back to Akito, “Akito, are you still good with us walking home together today?”
“Oh! Yeah, that’s good. You could stay over for a bit if you want, too..”
“Thank you, I wouldn’t mind.”
An and Kohane waved goodbye, as they rushed off to get home on time, leaving Akito and Toya alone backstage.
There were lights spilling into the small room from the stage, flashing every once in a while, it was starting to make Akito’s eyes hurt.
Toya yawned, “Should we start walking home? I’m pretty tired after our performance.”
“I’m pretty tired too..We should probably get going, yeah.” Akito rubbed at his eye as he grabbed his jacket off the sofa. He quickly pulled it on and went over to wait for Toya beside the back exit. Toya followed after him, letting Akito lead them out of the alleyway onto the sidewalk, cold air immediately biting at both of their faces as they began walking towards Akito’s house.
“...Akito, you’re walking weird. Is something wrong?” Ah, Toya noticed. Akito’s entire body was sore from dancing, along with the amount of practice he had been doing the past week, “I mean, if I had to admit, I am feeling pretty sore,” Akito rubbed at his eye again, the cold air drying it, “Think ya could step on my back or something? I would get forced to do that whenever Ena got back pain and it seemed to work pretty well.”
They rounded the corner to the street Akito’s house was on. “Sure, if it’ll help.”
“Thanks dude! You want me to get a coffee started for you or anything when we get to my house?”
Toya thought for a moment, “That’d be nice.”
Their conversation fell into Akito complaining about schoolwork, up until they both made it up to Akito’s room. Toya set his still boiling mug of coffee on Akito’s bedside table, Akito throwing his jacket and sweater onto his chair.
“So..Did you want me to like, actually step on you?..” Toya stood awkwardly beside Akito’s bed, fidgeting with the handle of his mug.
“Yeah? What did you think I meant?”
“I just thought it would be something rather than me..standing on you.”
Akito laughed, “If you’re worried about like, crushing me or something, I can promise you I’ll be okay.”
“Okay..”
Akito fell onto his bed face first, “There, can you just step on my back? I’ll tell you if it hurts at all, so don’t worry.”
Toya nervously idled around for a moment, before just gently placing his foot on Akito’s back.
Then he just stood there.
“...I said you can stand on me…” Akito turned his head to where Toya was standing. “I don’t wanna break your back or something though..”
Akito laughed again, “It's fine, I promise!”
“ Hmn…” Toya shifted a bit of his weight to his foot, and to Akito’s surprise, it did actually help a small bit, but Toya immediately pulled back. “What’s wrong?”
Toya hesitated for a moment, “I feel like I’m going to accidentally squash your liver..”
“ Pft! Dude! There's no way you’re strong enough to do that.”
Toya sighed, but continued basically prodding Akito with his foot.
“...Could I just give you a regular massage or something?”
Akito looked over at him, “If you’re stressing about flattening one of my organs that bad, I guess.”
Toya stepped back, taking a sip of his coffee, then, cupped the mug with his hands.
“What’re you doing?” Akito questioned.
“Warming up my hands!” Toya placed down the mug and tapped Akito’s upper back, motioning for him to lay down.
Toya sat on the very edge of the bed, bent uncomfortably to reach over to Akito.
Toya laid one of his hands on Akito’s back, a bit unsure of what to do.
Toya traced down to Akito’s waist, bending his finger to gently prod at his spine with his knuckle.
“Ah,” Akito suddenly sat up, “here, just a sec.” He lifted his plain white T-shirt up, throwing it over to land at least in the general direction of his chair.
Toya flushed just a bit as Akito fell back down onto his bed.
Toya put warmed hands onto Akito's now bare back, moving them up to just below his shoulder blades and pressing down a bit, Akito relaxing under his hands.
Toya continued on, trying to recite where he would knead at his back on days where the chairs at school left him sore.
After a bit, twisting his back so much started making him hurt a bit, resulting in Toya swinging a leg over Toya's lower back, hoisting himself on top of Akito.
“Is this alright?” Toya mumbled.
Toya took a slight note of Akito's shoulders slowly turning red.
“Yeah.” Akito said, muffled by the pillow.
Toya got back into whatever pattern he had started up earlier, gently kneading Akitos back.
Akito sighed, melting like putty under warm hands.
After a short bit longer, Akitos breaths evened out even for Toya to assume he had fallen asleep, leaving Toya with the realization his eyes were starting to get heavy with sleep.
Toya looked over, quickly drinking the last bit of his now just about lukewarm coffee.
He glanced down at Akito, he had his face rolled over so the moonlight spilling into the room painted him with glowing light.
Toya thought he was very pretty.
Toya yawned, muffling it with his hand, he supposed he should go to sleep, perhaps it was time to trek home.
He grabbed the closest phone to him, based on the face recognition page that popped up, it was Akito's. He held the phone down to Akito's face, it unlocking with a buzz.
He checked the time, it was already 12? He couldn't come home to his father at midnight.
Toya set the phone back down.
The sleepiness was really starting to get to him. He laid forward, Akito wouldn't be too mad, right?
He let his eyelids flutter closed, face squashed against Akito's back.
