Chapter Text
It all started with a party in the town square, most children and parents had retired for the night leaving only the teens and the adults without young children to the party, many of the attendants were either dancing, drinking or conversing with someone, some doing a combination of the three
Luisa was on her own by the food table, she didn’t typically stick around or enjoy these parties however Abuela had agreed on her behalf to help out with cleaning up after the party, she had no problem with helping out with cleaning she didn’t have anyone to hang out during the party,
She had no idea where Mirabel or Camillo went off to but they were likely with their group of friends, she had caught sight of Isabella not too long ago talking with a group of girls and although the same group of girls were still talking Isabella was missing from it.
“Luisa” a feminine and irritated voice snapped her out of her thoughts looking down she found a short and lean girl looking up at her with clear irritation, one of Isabella’s friends “Any idea where your sister is?” She asked quickly
“Um, no?” Luisa managed to answer the girl whose name Luisa couldn't at all remember huffed loudly crossing her arms
“She said she was going to get a drink like forever ago,” She said rolling her eyes “Can you like go get her?” She asked rather demandingly while asking for a favour,
Although this girl was annoying and demanding Luisa was glad for something to do “Yeah, no problem” She agreed, the girl only nodded in response before leaving to go back to her friends,
From that one interaction Luisa didn't understand how Isabella was friends with her.
Luisa didn't bother stewing on the interaction any longer and headed off towards the drinks table easily maneuvering herself between the people in the crowd towards the drinks table,
Soon she was able to see her, leaning against the end of the drink table holding a drink in her hand looking annoyed and it quickly became apparent why, standing next to her was Diego Lozano.
Diego was well known in town, mostly for bad reasons, he was a well-known casanova as he was always found messing about with some girl or breaking another one's heart, it was clear he was trying to talk Isabelle up and failing miserably from her expression
Quickly Luisa made her way to them, Isabella perking up slightly “Luisa!” She welcomed pulling Luisa’s arm closer bringing her into the conversation “Diego, you met Luisa si?”
The man in question frowned ever so slightly at the intrusion but quickly covered up with a small smile “Of course! She is the strength of this town, where in the world would be without her” He gleamed, although he was complimenting Luisa he wouldn't take his his eyes off Isabella, leaving Luisa uncomfortable
“Isa” Luisa called getting Isa to look at her “One of your friends was looking for you, Laura I think?”
Isabella smiled setting down her drink on the table before turning to Diego “So sorry, but I should get back to them” She apologized with a smile happy with the situation, as Diego was about to say something in response Isabella quickly took her leave
He slumped over in a huff as Isabella quickly left “That could have gone better”
“Haha, yeah” She added awkwardly, they kind of just stood there awkwardly for a few moments “She has been dating Mariano for a few months now”
Diego shrugged standing back up straight “Yeah thanks to their grandparents, not exactly a romantic start” He reminded turning his gaze back to her “What about you, seeing anyone?” He questioned raising a brow
Instantly Luisa flushed laughing awkwardly “What? No” She denied flushed nervously fixing her posture
He chuckled “You gotta live a little” He advised “Dating is always fun” he suggested with a wink
Awkwardly and not knowing how to proceed she quickly reached for a drink on the table and quickly drank it down “I should go check on Mirabel, and probably Camilo as well” She excused “Uh bye?”
“Alright, bye I guess,” He said rolling his eyes as Luisa turned to leave
Quickly and sheepishly she walked away from him and the conversation, It was not that she was against the idea of dating quite the opposite as she often forgone a night's sleep to read a new romance novel
Her issue was with Diego, his idea of dating was very different than hers, she didn't want to date for fun she wanted romance and love.
She couldn't help but huff at the thought as she weaved through the crowd, she didn't even have enough time in the day for romance books, how would she ever find the time for actual romance?
Mirabel and Camilo were easy to find, playing dancing and talking to a few of the kids while next to the musicians
Once she reached a somewhat isolated area at the edge of the party which the music barely reached she quickly hid away leaning by a building and standing in front to keep an eye on the party and nearby if someone needed her
She watched the crowd of people, occasionally looking out for one of her siblings or Camilo, After only a couple of minutes of watching she began to feel dazed quickly leaning back to rest against the building
Unexpectedly she stumbled over her own feet, sending her crashing to the floor, her face flushed in embarrassment trying to pull herself together quickly to get back up, using the wall to brace herself
Someone must have spiked the punch, or perhaps mistakenly took a cup from the alcoholic section either way she messed up, hopefully, she can sober in time for cleanup
She was able to stand up, rather shakingly, she leaned her side against the building taking in a large breath she didn't realize she desperately needed
She slowly walked around the house trying to hide from the partygoers, feeling ashamed of herself for getting this drunk
Her body and breathing felt out of her control, a hand suddenly rested on her back “I’m sure we can have fun”
Luisa recognized the voice and wanted to get away but instead of pushing the person behind her, her body was easily pushed around by the hand on her back
—
The next thing Luisa could remember was waking up in the same alleyway, the first thing she noticed was the warm-coloured sky the sun minutes away from rising, she must have missed cleaning up after the party
Looking down at herself she found herself dishevelled, her skirt had a long tear running up to her thigh and was covered in dirt, and the ribbon that kept her hair up was gone
She couldn’t have gotten that drunk could she? Luisa wasn’t completely inexperienced with alcohol and she knew only a single drink couldn’t have knocked her off her feet like this had
More importantly, she should get home, she had spent the night in an alley and if she could get home without anyone noticing she might escape the embarrassment of it
She quickly got up off the floor, fixing her skirt to try and hide the massive tear while shifting her skirt she quickly realized something felt not right, terribly not right.
Fear coursed through her veins, she was missing her underwear and something was on her inner thighs.
Luisa scanned the alleyway, the missing garment lay on the floor next to where she was previously lying, shredded.
Quickly she gathered the pieces of the garment in her hand, holding it tight to her chest as tears poured down her face, unsure what quite happened to end up in this state
She didn't know what to do about it, but she did know was that she wanted to go home and away from this alley. She started wiping her face with her arms trying to get rid of the evidence of her crying,
Her hands were shaky as she tried to fix herself up, although not many people would be out this early in the day she didn't want anyone to catch her in this state.
Despite scanning the alley another time she couldn't find the ribbon she used to tie her hair back, not wanting to stay in the alley any longer she left her hair down before heading out of the alley.
As she expected nobody was out and about this early, and those that were didn't pay much attention to her so she was able to get home quickly without notice
Once entering the house she noticed how quiet it was, suggesting that everyone was still asleep, she made her way up to the second floor hoping to get herself cleaned up as soon as possible
However, once she got to the top of the stairs Abuela came out of her room “Luisa! Look at you, you're a mess!” Her abuela criticized “So early in the morning and you what? Rolling in the dirt?” She tsked
“No! Abuela I don’t know exactly what happened but-”
“Right after skipping out last night on poor Señora Cabrera with cleaning up” Abuela interrupted to continue her ramble “Go clean yourself up and apologize to her and see if there's anything you can do to help now” She ordered her
Luisa bowed her head down in defeat “Yes Abuela” she responded solemnly, she made her way to her room and quickly shut the door behind her
She immediately undressed and finally unclenched her palm holding the shredded garments before rushing to her bathroom, quickly turning the water on where she proceeded to break down and sob
