Wonsik sighs and rolls his shoulders as he opens the door to his house; he steps inside, toeing his shoes off and lets out a soft breath as he steps off the doormat, pushing the door behind him shut. He cracks his neck. Sleep threatens him as he roughly kicks his trainers under the shoe rack and pads through the hallway, doing his best to try and not trip over anything in the darkness. He finds his way to the kitchen and steps inside, quickly opening one of the cupboards and pulling out an instant ramen pot. He’s quick to turn the kettle on to boil, hauling his arm over his body, his other arm holding it in position as he cracks his elbow, changing to the other side as he watches the kettle, eyebrows furrowing. He’s starving and he really doesn’t appreciate the amount of time that the apparatus is taking.
It finally clicks and he smiles weakly, ripping off the lid and grasping the kettle handle, pouring the steaming water to the fill line. He places the kettle back, leaning down to pull the dishwasher open and grab a pair of chopsticks. Carefully, he stirs the contents of the pot and sits at the kitchen aisle, sniffing a little. He’s got a cold coming on, and it’s going to be hell if he doesn’t rest up and prevent it from taking as full of a grasp on him as it wants to. He needs to eat, get to bed and down a concoction of different teas that will no doubt make him feel queasy but undoubtedly boost his immune system.
He settles at the kitchen counter, stirring the noodles as they slowly soften before he places them next to him, ripping the sauce packet open and tapping it in, quick to stir it. The familiar scents of spice and meat drift up to him and he smiles softly. Wonsik lifts a mouthful, quickly popping it into his mouth, wincing as it scalds his tongue before a chew and swallow. His stomach growls, demanding more, and it hits Wonsik how hungry he actually is. Within a few minutes, he stands up, dropping the empty pot on the side with the rest of the recycling and taking a moment to wash and dry the chopsticks. He slips them into the cutlery drawer and then stretches, lifting his arms above his head and twitching slightly as his back cracks.
He yawns and rubs a hand over his face, turning the kitchen light and making his way to the bedroom. Wonsik pauses in the doorway, letting his eyes adjust to the darkness – it’s a good job that he does, he muses as he picks his way around the dark piles on the floor that indicate dirty washing, shoes, and a bag. His gaze lifts to the bed as he gets to it, taking in the dark mass lying… corner to corner and leaving no room for him. He smiles a little and sits down, leaning down to pull his socks off before turning to observe.
Now he’s been in the room for a few minutes, the moonlight pouring through the open curtains is enough for him to see by and he chuckles. Taemin is twisted in his sleep, his chest face down on the blanket, his cheek mushed into the pillow, mouth slightly open, whilst his legs face the wall, looking as though he wasn’t even fully laying down before sleep claimed him. He reaches forward, gently tucking Taemin’s fringe off his forehead and behind his ear. He’s been overworking himself recently; between Idea , Don’t Call Me , Atlantis , Superstar , and Advice , the man’s barely had time to eat and sleep, let alone sit and take a moment for himself.
It’s nice to see him so relaxed, all stress from around his eyes dissipated and non-existent for now, his chest rising and falling slowly, rather than slightly panted after an exhausting day. It’s nice to see him without sweat decorating his temple, a curse leaving his lip as he tries a dance move again, swirling chopsticks in his hand as he tries to master some foot movement he already knows is muscle memory but won’t quit until it’s the specific brand of Lee Taemin perfectionism that he seeks. Wonsik shakes his head slightly, a smile on his lips, and he leans down to press a gentle kiss to Taemin’s forehead. The man shifts slightly, his arm unwrapping from around his chest as he smacks his lips, settling back down and Wonsik gawks for a moment.
The hoodie he’s currently sleeping in - and will likely stretch out via sleeping with his legs bent up against his chest, under the fabric - is one of Wonsik’s own hoodies. He stares, speechless, a chuckle brewing in his throat. He thought he’d lost that months ago, never to be seen again, left in some building somewhere and he would never know which one to ask for it in the lost and found.
No, it turned out Lee Taemin, the cat burglar, thief and all time brat, had stolen it from the washing or his closet and was keeping permanent ownership of it.
He lets out an exasperated noise, sighing with a wide smile, leaning down. He presses a gentle kiss to Taemin's forehead. The man doesn't stir, a small noise coming from his throat. Taemin shifts slightly, just enough to half roll over and Wonsik smiles, shedding his clothes. He glances at the drawers before shrugging, remaining in his boxers. Carefully, he lifts Taemin, making sure he doesn't jostle the man. Awkwardly, he shifts the blankets down with his foot before laying Taemin back down. He tugs the sheets down before laying next to him, pulling them back up.
Wonsik closes his eyes, taking a deep breath and rolling over. His arm wraps tightly around Taemin's waist and the man grunts a little. "Shikkie?"
"I'm home, Taeminnie. Go back to sleep."
"Mm."
Wonsik is pretty sure he's back to sleep before he even finishes the noise in his throat, chest evening out almost immediately. For a moment, he relishes the fact that Taemin is so comforted by his presence, that his being brings the man such peace that he can fall asleep so easily. He smiles, shifting to bury his face in Taemin's hair, take a deep inhalation and letting the shampoo scent rush over his senses. He presses a gentle kiss to the back of the dancer's head before letting his eyes slip close. It doesn't take long for the exhaustion to claim him, his consciousness slipping from him with ease, the all too familiar feeling of his hoodie framing Taemin's chest bring him a sense of intimacy and comfort as his mind goes blank.
