Work Text:
Nastya couldn't remember the last time she heard properly.
She couldn't remember the last time she actually heard, heard crisp, clear, sound that made itself known. Couldn't remember the last conversation she had where she wasn't staring intently at the other person's lips, watching them form words to aid her fractured hearing.
She placed her hand against Aurora's walls, feeling the vibrations from her girlfriend reassuring her that she was there. She leaned against the wall, smiling as a text message popped up on her tablet. She and Aurora communicated through ASL (on Nastya's part), vibrations, and text interface, be that on Nastya's tablet or one of Aurora's many screens.
How are you doing? the text flashed. She smiled, shifting so she was in clear view of one of her cameras, and raised her hands to sign. She pointed at herself, then raised her left hand to her chin, bringing it back down to rest palm-up on her right hand, before pointing in the general direction of Aurora's walls.
I'm good. You?
I'm doing fine, love, a message buzzed on her tablet.
Nastya smiled and leaned back against her girlfriend, comforted by the slight buzzing coming from her walls. I love you.
I love you too, Nastya.
