New Year's Eve is a special occasion that brings people together to celebrate the start of a new year with their family, friends and loved ones. It is a time to reflect on the past year and look forward to new beginnings. This year, Nick and Charlie have decided to spend this special night together. They have planned a fun-filled evening with lots of delicious food, drinks, and games.
The Nelsons threw a party, but David was absent. They invited the Springs, Nick, and Charlie’s friends, along with some adult friends of Sarah.
The Springs were the first to arrive and they found a cozy spot to settle in. Nick was eagerly waiting for Charlie and as soon as he saw him, he gave him a warm and tight hug, expressing how excited he was to see his boyfriend and the love of his life.
After a wait of 30 minutes, Tao, Elle, Tara, Darcy, and Aled finally arrived at their destination. Nick, who had been eagerly anticipating their arrival, went to the door to welcome them in. As he opened the door, Nick and Charlie greeted the group with a warm smile and ushered them inside.
The Paris squad brought snacks, including many other goodies. Darcy sneaked in the vodka, because, well, that's Darcy.
They set up the dining room with snacks and food. Jane and Julio helped Sarah cook. Tao wanted to put a movie on, but Elle said no. He sighed and listened to his queen and they put on the New Year's Eve channel with the performances, etc!
Nick, Charlie, Tara, and Darcy enthusiastically adorned the room with colorful streamers, balloons, and ribbons while Oliver entertained himself by throwing a ball at Nick's friendly dogs. Meanwhile, Tori savored the company of Michael, chatting and smiling with him.
After an hour or so, the food was ready. The adults and Oliver sat at the table and the Paris squad sat in the living room eating. Nick was worried that Charlie was going to feel uncomfortable eating, but he ate. Nick was proud of his boyfriend and how far he was coming along.
The Paris squad couples cuddled each other. They laughed, had fun, and made jokes. Tao, being Tao, was speaking facts on how they should spend the new year. Elle rolled her eyes. Darcy was chugging a drink but Tara said it’s "literally lemonade."
Darcy was planning to wait until later to gulp down the vodka. She had decided to chug it before the new year arrived and wasn't going to give up easily.
As the hours ticked by, Darcy decided to liven up the atmosphere and turned up the music. Soon, Nick and Charlie were swaying to the beat, lost in their world. Nick twirled Charlie around and even made him dip. The room was filled with laughter and joy, the perfect way to spend an evening with friends.
As Oliver entered the room, he began to perform a series of mini dances, jumping up and down. Despite his excitement, he knew deep down that he wouldn't be able to stay awake until the countdown. Jane and Julio had already decided to leave before the countdown began so they could make sure that Oliver was tucked in bed and sound asleep.
Tori and Michael sat on the steps, sipping diet lemonades and listening to the commotion. Tori preferred to keep her distance, and Michael respected that. She was enjoying herself with Michael, seeing her family have a good time with friends. That's all that mattered to her.
Everyone got together to watch some concerts that they were performing on TV and see what other parts of the county were doing to celebrate the upcoming year like NYC with so many people in the crowds just enjoying themselves–waiting for the ball to drop.
"if I was there, I would have so much anxiety. That’s claustrophobia right there," Charlie says with a chuckle. Nick agreed with him.
"And what if you had to use the loo? What would you do?" Nick asked, with a laugh.
You can likely comprehend what he said, given that Tao is Tao. Darcy also contributed with responses. Elle and Tara exchanged a glance and burst out laughing, as they rolled their eyes.
It was almost time for the countdown with an hour left. Charlie and Tori said goodbye to their parents and Oliver. Jane gave both kids hugs and kisses on the head, wishing them a happy new year, and so did Julio. Jane knew Charlie was staying over at Nick’s and Tori was going to her friend's after-party with Michael. Jane has started to trust her kids more, she admits that she isn’t the best mother, but she wants her kids to be happy. She is getting there, but baby steps.
Oliver said goodbye to Nellie and Henry, showing reluctance to leave the dogs behind. However, he had no other option. Jane picked Oliver up, said goodbye to everyone with Julio, and they left.
Sarah started to clean up a bit, starting to put Nick's homemade muffins and other goodies he made, along with Charlie’s cookies he kinda burnt.
The Paris Squad got up, with Tori and Micheal, and grabbed some goodies. Nick held Charlie’s hand as Charlie nibbled on the muffin. Nick made the muffins, especially for Charlie, the same muffins that he made him when they first met. Charlie smiled.
It was now a half hour before the countdown. Everyone was excited. They huddled on the couch, while Sarah was on the other couch with Nellie and Henry. They all talked and shared their New Year’s revelations, laughed, and had fun conversations. Sarah allowed them to now drink but not too much because she's a cool mom and they were the age. Aled didn’t really have one, but had a couple sips.
Darcy got so excited, whipped out the vodka bottle, and was ready to chug it. Nick made them drinks, a twister and had some bottles that had low alcohol in them. He made Charlie’s drink special, he made it fancy because according to Nick, Charlie deserves the world and everything.
It was now the countdown, they all got ready with their party horns and started counting down.

Everyone blew their horns. Hugging.
Tao and Elle kissed,
Tara and Darcy kissed,
Tori and Michael kissed in a corner, no one seeing them,
And lastly, Nick and Charlie.
Nick kissed Charlie like it was the end of the world. Well, Charlie was his world. He loved Charlie.
"Happy New Year, Char."
"Happy New Year, Nick."
