Work Text:

“What is this?!” Hook heard his father exclaim at the front door while his son was in the kitchen stirring away at the large stockpot before him.

Damn this Zuppa Toscana!

“D better like this.” He grumbled under his breath, already planning to ignore anything and everything going on outside the kitchen.

Until the next question was asked:

“Deedee, you bring the cops to my house?!” As soon as police were mentioned it made Hook focus. He stopped stirring and turned down the burner, but stayed right where he was. Listening. Waiting. Trying not to stew in his anger like the sausage and veggies did in their creamy broth.

Why were the cops there? No one broke the law! Sure, given Taz’s line of work, threats and harassment from cops were expected but they never came to the home unless they had a damn good reason! …and a warrant.

All Hook wanted to do was make dinner for Danhausen and Lilith.

“I got kids here!” Taz shouted once more.

“Yes, two of them are my…” A calming voice was heard. Too calm. “KIDSHAUSEN!” A woman’s screech was heard throughout the manor. Hook wanted to go to the door and confront her. She was making too much noise and he didn’t want those outbursts to scare or upset Lilly. Hook just wanted to make dinner! Was that too much to ask?

“Listen!” Now the police were shouting? Fucking wonderful. “Mother-…hausen. Just wants her children…back.” The hesitation in his voice made Hook confused. Where there was hesitation there was fear. But the fear wasn’t because of his father.

The fear was towards Motherhausen.

“Bring them out and she’ll be on her way.” He finished rather quickly. Wanting nothing more than for this tense moment to end. “Just give her back her kids.” He sighed, trying to portray himself as calm and dominant but his fear-laced voice said otherwise. Right now, that cop was Motherhausen’s bitch.

“I would never keep children away from their mother.” But Taz wasn’t. “They’re not hostages! If she wants them she can come inside and get ‘em!”

“Okay, I’ll get two of my guys to escort her-“ The teen held back a chuckle at the sound of the door being slammed in the officer’s face. But the suppressed laughs were soon gone once the severity increased.

Motherhausen was in their home and she wasn’t leaving without her children.

“What is this? You bring the cops to my house? Deedee, couldn’t just—“ Taz was about to drill into her but it all landed on deaf ears.

“Where are my babies?!” Hook could hear her anger turn into concern. “And you don’t get to call me that anymore!” She snarled at the nickname.

“Babies?” He could hear his father’s confused look. “Danhausen’s almost eighteen and Lilly’s four!”

“They’re still minors and they are not allowed to be here without their motherhausen’s permission!” She was about to shout once more but refrained from doing so. She took a deep breath before giving a firm but gentle order to Taz. Something no one ever did. “Bring me my children.”

The sound of his father’s footsteps hurrying up the stairs left Hook even more confused. No one told his father what to do. No one dared brought the police around his home. His father was feared but somehow the cops feared the woman instead. Who was this woman? Yes, she was Lilly and D’s mom but what powers did she have?

“Tyler.” Her screeches and shouts were gone. Now, her voice was welcoming, kind, filled with…

Love.

He turned to see Motherhausen. Now they were in the kitchen. Alone. Hook stayed in front of the oven while Motherhausen was in front of the table.

She was tall.

Very tall.

She was taller than Bill!

Her hair was jet black and went down to her hips. Snowflakes scattered throughout her locks before melting away. She wore a long, black overall jacket that stopped just above her knees. Her alabaster skin was almost as white as snow. Her eyes were the same as her son’s. Her smile matched Lilly’s. She was so thin, so fragile but Hook knew she had strength. Tremendous strength.

“Come to Motherhausen.” And she was affectionate like them both. Holding her long arms out, waiting. Waiting for the young man to join her in an embrace.

Her loving voice…her warm smile…even having her arms out all felt so…

Familiar.

But that was impossible. They had never met! Danhausen and Hook didn’t know each other that long. Yes, Danhausen was over at the Serenchia Manor almost every day because of winter break but never did Hook meet the strange boy's mother.

She began to walk closer to him. She wanted her embrace. No one dared touch Hook. Not at school. Not in the streets. Certainly not at home!

Well…except for Danhausen…and Lilly.

So why was Hook making his way to her?

They embraced. It was warm despite how cold she was to Taz. It was welcoming even though her desire to get the children and leave was heavily indicated. His arms wrapped around her thin waist. Hook tried not to blush despite having a face full of her chest. Wow, was Mrs. Danhausen busty.

“You’re a man now.” His eyes locked on hers. She smiled as her long fingers combed his hair. He welcomed her touch like he welcomed her son’s. “You have Theresa’s eyes.” Her coos continued as her thumb began to stroke Hook’s cheek. Even though she looked like a corpse she was so warm. “Where are Donavan and Lilith?”

“Lilly’s in my room napping.” He answered barely above a whisper. “D went up to check on her before you came.”

Who was this woman?! She knew his mother’s name? She gave his father orders? One minute she shows up with a cop and now she’s sharing a tight, long hug with the son of a possible enemy? Who in the hell was this woman?!

“Mamahausen!” Lilly’s cheering interrupted Hook’s racing thoughts.

“Yes, there’s Motherhausen!” Danhausen copied his young sister. Entering the kitchen with her on his hip. Both were in blissful ignorance of what occurred earlier.

“My babies.” She sighed in relief, her warm smile never left. Using one arm to keep Hook in place while the other reached out for her children. Naturally, they welcomed their mother’s hug. All three now in her arms. She looked down at the children and giggled. “Now I have three babies~.” Her children laughed while Hook smiled.

“I don’t remember you having the one who looks like me .” Taz was the reason she lost her smile. What took her smile’s place were feelings of frustration and annoyance. “Deedee, you’re suffocating him.” His dry, sarcastic comment was a way of demanding she let go of Hook.

“Don’t be jealous.” Her gentle voice stayed but the venom was ready to strike. “Did you three have fun today?” She smiled back down at the children.

“Yes.” They all answered.

“Splendid.” Now, Lilly was on her mother’s hip while the other arm never released Hook. Until she said those evil, heartwrenching words.

“Say goodbye to Tyler.”

That made his arm wrapped tightly around her waist and had a hand wrap firmly around Danhausen’s wrist. They were both puzzled.

“But I made dinner.” He nodded over to the pot. “Don’t go.” Something inside of him wasn’t going to let this woman and her children getaway. He didn’t want them to leave.

For days Danhausen practically lived with Hook and his father. Today was even better than before because Lilly was able to join them. Motherhausen was at work when the boys went to pick up Lilly from her friend’s house. They took the small girl to see a movie and then returned to the manor to play and play until she got tired.

Now, Taz was home and their mother was there. Everything felt so…complete.

“Oh, darling, we can’t stay for dinner.” Motherhausen whispered back before pressing a kiss to the top of Hook’s head.

His grip on them wouldn’t loosen.

“Why not?” He asked before his father chimed in.

“Yeah, why not?” Taz tilted his head to the side. “My son slaves over a hot stove for hours to make your kids dinner and you want to leave?” He was met with daggers. If looks could kill Motherhausen’s glare would have slit his throat. Leaving him to bleed out on his kitchen floor. “The least you can do is stay for dinner, Deedee .”

The Danhausens were cornered. Hell, they were trapped. There was no way out. Hook managed to get a subtle grip on them while Taz blocked the exit.

“What did Hook make?” Danhausen asked, looking over at the pot. His hand now in Hook’s. His thumb circled the tan knuckles. He and Lilly were so oblivious to it all. Unaware of what was happening Hook didn’t seem to fully know either.

Motherhausen’s eyes widened at the sight of the boys holding hands. Danhausen may not have told her yet but it was clear the boys were more than just friends. Turned to look at the doorway where Taz stood guard, only to look back at the boys now gazing lovingly into each other’s eyes.

“It’s the Tuscan soup we had at Scrampo’s last week.” Their fingers were now interlocked. “You kept on talking about it so… I tried making it.”

“Hook did all this for Danhausen?” Even though the cops were called, their parents were fighting, and Hook was still trying to figure out how Motherhausen knew of him and his mother, watching D’s eyes light up was all worth it. “Hook didn’t have to do that.”

“Hook wanted to.” The Italian smiled as he let go of Motherhausen and took Danhausen over to the stockpot. Now Hook had her son. She wasn’t going to leave either child behind. “I made a lot. You can even take some home.”

“You want to help me set the table, Lilly?” Taz grinned, suddenly appearing next to the towering mother. Making her jump a little but Lilly, still naive to it all, reached out her arms for Taz to take her. Now the mobster had her daughter.

Neither of the Senerchia men were going to let them leave.

Notes:

I know in real life the police wouldn't just leave the Danhausens there but…I’m still a bit rusty. XD

To be fair this idea came to me Xmas Eve and I couldn't shake it off. Hope you all enjoyed.
