Two years

Summary:

Joe can't stop thinking about how much he loves David while he sleeps.

Notes:

English is not my first language so I have had to use a translator several times. This is my first fanfic so it's probably poorly written or cringe.

Work Text:

Sunlight streamed in through the half-open curtains that were slowly moved by the gentle breeze coming through the open windows. In the background were the sounds of traffic, the barking of dogs whose owners had taken them out for a walk, but above all the chirping of birds.

Joe Liebgott slowly opened his eyes, taking deep breaths as he blinked repeatedly to wake himself up and push sleep away completely. He tried to move but a head on his shoulder and an arm around his waist prevented him. Joe looked down at a sight that to him was one of the most beautiful. Lying almost on top of him was David Webster, the person Joe adored with all his heart, with his head resting on his shoulder, breathing quietly but deeply and his mouth half open letting out little sighs.

Joe's hand moved instinctively to Webster's curly hair. His friends always teased him that he had fallen in love with Webster because of his curls and his eyes, which Joe also adored. He just laughed as Webster blushed slightly with a coy smile. He still couldn't believe he was dating someone as beautiful and perfect as Webster was to Joe. They had known each other for quite a few years but hadn't started dating until two years ago.

At first, when they first met, they didn't get on very well, you could almost say they couldn't even see each other but over time and with their friends playing matchmaker they ended up falling deeply in love although Joe knew he had fallen in love with him the day they met, but he would never admit that.

Back to the present, Joe was still stroking his beloved's curls, smiling softly as he felt him snuggle closer for warmth and began to open his eyes looking up at where he was.

"Hello my love" Joe spoke softly and softly as he stroked her bare back "Did you sleep well?"

All he got in reply was a grunt all too familiar to him as Webster always did that in the mornings when he wasn't in the mood to form coherent words. Liebgott let out a laugh as Webster gave him a small smack on the chest.

"Shut up, don't laugh at me," Webster said, his voice hoarse from sleep.

"I'm not laughing at you honey. I never would."

"Would you? Do I have to remind you, Liebgott, of all the times you've laughed at me since we met?" replied David trying to sound serious but failing to do so because of the smile he was trying to contain.

"Meine Liebe, they were just jokes."

"Sure, sure. I should be mad at you for all that" he said as he turned his back to Joe.

"If anyone in this life has to turn their back on me, let it be yours," Joe laughed.

They both started laughing. Webster turned again looking directly at Joe, giving him a kiss that expressed a hundred feelings. When they broke apart they stood gazing into each other's eyes in total adoration until David's gut started to rumble.

"Well, I think someone's definitely hungry. What do you want for breakfast?" asked Lieb.

"Hmm, if you give me a choice obviously it would be pancakes" replied David with a grin as he rolled himself even further into the sheets. "When you're done with that let me know Liebe."

"Of course I will Meine Prinzessin. I didn't know I was a servant now, I should start charging you" he said as he got out of bed leaving a kiss on Webster's forehead and headed for the kitchen.

"I love you so much you know that!" shouted David from his place on the bed receiving a smile from his boyfriend.

"Me too my love.”
