Mortal Kombat 1 Kombatant Profile: Saaya Yakushiji/ Cure Ange

Note, her face model is based off Rina Honizumi, her Japanese voice actress. Her default costume is her Cure form from Hugtto PreCure with the addition of a waist pouch on the right side of her sash to hold medical supplies that has a combat knife based on a KM-2000 attached to it.

Bio:

Saaya Yakushiji hails from a family well known in the entertainment industry of Japan as actors. Despite having experience as a child actress, she was unsure of the path that she wants to take. However, she has a kind personality and maturity beyond her age. When she first met Hana Nono at her school , she offered to show Hana around the school and was impressed by her courage though she believed that her kindness does not hold a candle to Hana's courage. When they met at the tree house that Hana built, Geras; the Keeper of the Hourglass appeared and revealed that he overheard the conversation between Hana and Saaya. Noting that compassion needs courage to stand up to others, he cheered on Saaya together with Hana.

During an attack from two monsters revealed to be underlings sent by Titan Shang Tsung through his home timeline to Liu Kang's New Era , Hana was trapped by one of the monsters and Geras was struggling to fight off the other monster. Remembering the cheering of Geras and Hana about her having courage alongside kindness, she found courage within herself and created a Mirai Crystal from her courage and drive. Realizing this, Geras created and threw a PreHeart to her, allowing her to transform into Cure Ange; the PreCure of Wisdom, bailing out Geras and freeing Hana, causing the underlings of Shang Tsung to flee.

After an occasion where she helped to deliver her teacher's baby, she decided she wanted to be a doctor when she grows up in the future. While her parents were initially dismayed, they eventually came to her way of thinking and encouraged her to follow her own path as a doctor. Boosted by the encouragement, Saaya was motivated to pursue her studies in the medical field in the future and even became the first PreCure from Earthrealm to undergo training from the realm of the Healing Garden, learning it's arts and magic.

Recruited by Liu Kang to provide aid to his warriors with her skills in healing, Saaya accompanied the warriors of Earthrealm to Outworld. Though imprisoned together with Johnny Cage, Kenshi, Baraka and Kung Lao thanks to Shang Tsung's and General Shao's conspiracy in the former's laboratory, she was imprisoned on a different cell block from Kenshi, Johnny Cage and Kung Lao and escaped during the chaos caused by Reptile's betrayal of Shang Tsung by overpowering a guard walking near her cell and stealing his keys to free herself and retrieve her PreHeart, also managing to steal some samples of Shang Tsung's anti-Tarkat potions alongside with his research notes during her escape back to Earthrealm. Reuniting with Johnny Cage's group, she traveled back to Earthrealm together with him.

Now, she must fight to prevent the New Era from being destroyed by Titan Shang Tsung's spite and protect the shining futures of the realms in the process.

Intro Animations:

Intro 1: Cure Ange summons her Melody Sword in her hand and points it at her opponent.

Intro 2: Cure Ange adjusts her pouch.

Outro Animation:

Cure Ange prepares to send out a energy heart construct as feathers surround her.

Throw Animation: Nurse and Doctor.

Cure Ange smashes in her Melody Sword into her opponent's eye, pulls it out, gets behind the opponent and then uses a energy heart to the back of her opponent's head to send the opponent to the ground.

Special Moves:

Play Doktor: Cure Ange grabs the opponent and jabs a syringe into her opponent before pulling it out, dealing chip damage to her opponent and acting as a re-stand.

Heart Feather : Cure Ange creates a energy heart and launches it at her opponent. Can be charged. Enhancing it allows her to gain armor while charging.

Feather Blast: Cure Ange pulls out her Melody Sword and uses it to extend tendrils that smack and stagger the opponent for a free hit.

• Feather Blast Slam: Cure Ange uses her Feather Blast tendrils to entangle the opponent and slam them around.

Melody Sword Kounter: Cure Ange swings her arm upwards while also drawing out her Melody Sword . If the opponent hits Cure Ange with a melee attack, Cure Ange will parry the attack before stabbing the opponent with her combat knife.

Bonesaw Stab: Cure Ange pulls out a reciprocating saw and uses it to impale her opponent before pulling it out, staggering her opponent.

Fatal Blow: Healin' Bad:

Cure Ange starts her Fatal Blow by launching an energy heart barrier into her opponent via her PreHeart , staggering her opponent and allowing her Kameo Fighter to execute their Fatal Blow. Once her Kameo is done, Cure Ange charges in with her Melody Sword, stabs the opponent in the stomach and then their chest before pulling out a syringe and stabbing her opponent in the head with the syringe so hard that she breaks the opponent's skull.

Fatalities:

Fatality 1: Ange Kompactor:

Cure Ange kicks the opponent to the ground and creates a large heart construct in her hands that she then brings down onto the opponent, bisecting her opponent at the waist, She then picks up the heart construct as her still-alive opponent tries to crawl away and smashes it onto her opponent, splattering her opponent.

Fatality 2: Heart Vivisection:

Cure Ange grabs the opponent and slams the opponent onto a hospital bed with strap restraints that secure her opponent and further pins the opponent in place with her knife to the opponent's throat. She then pulls out her reciprocating saw and proceeds to saw the opponent in half vertically in the chest, breaking open her opponent's ribcage in the process before  discarding her saw, reaching her hand into her opponent's chest and ripping out her opponent's heart and crushing it in her hands.

Kameo Fatality Win Pose:

Cure Ange pulls out her Melody Sword and inspects it.

Test Your Might: Cure Ange attempts to break the object with a charged karate chop. If successful, Cure Ange poses with her PreHeart.

Brutalities:

1. The Klassic: Cure Ange punches her opponent's head off with an uppercut.

2. Back Throw: Cure Ange throws her opponent into the camera, splattering the opponent.

3. Oh Shoot!: Cure Ange executes her throw, only to splatter her opponent's head with a heart construct with the final blow.

4. Diagonal Slice: Cure Ange saws the opponent with her reciprocating saw, diagonally from the torso up.

5. Memorial Plague: Cure Ange jams a syringe into her opponent, causing her opponent to vomit out their stomach contents and eventually blood before collapsing.

6. Kindness has Limits: Cure Ange stabs her opponent in the gut with her knife causing the opponent to clutch their stomach in pain, followed by her impaling her Melody Sword in her opponent's chest before she crushes their head with her bare hands.

7. Splat!: Cure Ange uses the tendrils from Feather Blast to splatter her opponent by smashing them around .

8. Safety Barrier; Cure Ange executes her Heart Feather move, only for her to pulp her opponent with the final hit.
9. Ange's Stabby Bits: Cure Ange pulls out her knife, then uses it to stab into the opponent's chest. She then proceeds to rip out her opponent's heart and discard it.

"With the conspiracy by Titan Shang Tsung and Titan Quan Chi dealt with, I've also decided to put the notes and samples that I've stolen from Shang Tsung to good use. His notes, while repulsive in subject proved a great trove of information."

"Using his notes together with what I've learnt from the Healing Garden and my own blood, I've managed to improve upon and fashion an anti-Tarkat serum of my own design . It cured and vaccinated the uninfected and those with early symptoms of Tarkat and permanently halted it's progress and rendered it non-infectious for late stage sufferers."

Geras and Liu Kang called me back to the Hourglass where he briefed me on a new threat to the realms, a race of plague demons called the Byogen Kingdom. They have threatened the Healing Garden and Earthrealm for a very long time and have taken advantage of the death of Titan Shang Tsung to invade. Time for us to put up a welcoming committee with the Healing Garden."
