All I have left is love

Summary:

Nancy had everything except love, now that she has nothing left, she has love

Work Text:

she looked down and saw that her arms and the backs of her hands were bright red, covered in white bumps. The rash had slowly progressed upwards, until her entire body felt intense pain. she had to rush back inside. Her skin burned like it was on fire. It was like a terrible sunburn, and it surprised her because it hadn't even been a sunny day. The weather was gray, cloudy and about to rain.
Locking herself in the upstairs bathroom, Nancy looked at her reflection. Even though she was wearing a hat and most of her skin was covered, she broke out in an angry rash. Her skin was burning and she was red as a fire truck. there were raised marks on her skin. she could see that blisters had started to form on her skin, rising and filling with a yellow fluid. Everything hurt. Oh my God. her entire body was wracked with pain. Nancy had itches all over, the kind that made her want to rip her skin off.
Nancy had gotten into the bathtub, desperate to cool off. she turned on the icy water and stood under the stream as long as she could. Nancy was wheezing, her throat tight, her chest tight. she could barely breathe. Her skin itched so much, and she scratched and clawed at her body, tearing at her arms and legs with ferocity. The cold water helped a little, but the heat radiated around her . Nancy was so hot, her body was shivering and shaking with fever and chills. And her stomach hurt, so much so that she was afraid she was going to throw up. And while she could barely think, her brain filled with radiating pain spreading throughout her body, Nancy had slumped in the shower, sitting with her knees to her chest, the water running over her .
That's how Robin found her an hour later, when she knocked on the door to see how she was. Nancy was still sitting underwater, her skin burning, the cold water barely lowering her temperature. She had started to panic, not knowing what was wrong with her . And Nancy couldn't explain it to her – she barely understood her her self.
Robin had insisted that she take her to the hospital, worried that she might have an allergic reaction to something, that she might go into anaphylactic shock. The ride to the hospital made her skin even redder and the rash more pronounced. They were both terrified. Unfortunately, this kind of reaction was not one-off. this happened over and over again, to the point where Nancy became paranoid and hypervigilant about everything she did – in case she reacted badly to her surroundings.
Once she got sick, Nancy's whole life changed. she had to stop her studies, which really ruined her. she would have loved to study with Robin. Nancy depended on her monthly disability amount to support herself, which was enough to pay rent, bills, and food. But she didn't have as much money as before. And her dating options had dwindled, now that she didn't leave the house much. It was as if the rest of the world was moving on, going about their business, while Nancy was stuck in her own personal limbo. she hated not being able to move around, do things. Some of her friends left the state to go to school, others found jobs, wives, children. she had none of those things. All she had was a dark basement apartment and the enormous amount of work she had to put in to maintain her health. her skin was itchy, the stress was anguish, her hair was so white in places.
“You look really pale and tired.” Do you want me to bring you some extra fruit? I think she needs more vitamins.
"Yeah." Nancy nodded. “I took my iron. But I constantly feel exhausted.
Robin came and took her in her arms, she cuddled her on the couch, how did she become what she is now, sometimes she just wanted to end it, she couldn't live in this body anymore, but then she saw the smile sweet and lovable Robin, she didn't want to give anything away, because she loved her and sometimes nothing mattered more than that, Robin took care of her all the time, she was so sweet and caring.
“I love you” Nancy whispered as Robin wrapped her soft, fluffy arms around her.
