06. A simple yet lovely life.

Chapter Text

Now, Namjoon had the cradles ready for his twins.

A heavily pregnant Seokjin leans on the door’s workshop.

“Namjoon-ah, could you help me with something?”

“Sure, Jin-ah.”

They went to the dining room, where a cake was at the center, along with a gift.

“Jin-ah, I…”

“Happy birthday, Namjoon-ie!! You’re 26 now!! How does it feel to be the father of two beautiful pups on their way?” He laughed and then smiled tenderly. “I know you don’t celebrate your birthdays, but I wanted to change that…”

Namjoon took a sit and put his pregnant husband on his lap, hugging him and crying.

“Jin, I never thought… I never believed I could be this happy… sometimes I feel like I could lose everything, and that scares me so, so much… but I didn’t know, I didn’t know if I just opened my heart… I will receive so much love… and it’s thanks to you, Jin… Thank you for loving me… I’m not alone now…”

Seokjin cradled his husband’s head on his bosom.

“My Namjoon-ie… I’m so grateful to have known you… You’re giving me the greatest gifts: Your love, and our children… I’m grateful to the invisible gods out there to have met you. You’re not alone now, we have each other, our friends, and our community… Maybe not everything will be good in the future but the love we have will make us stronger.” And he kissed his forehead. “Oh! they kicked!”

Seokjin took Namjoon’s hand and put it on his stomach… Both could feel the tiny kicks the twins made.

“Oh, there’s another one! That means we need to cut that cake now because I want to taste it, I bought it from Mr. Eun.”

“Oh, I love his pastries and cakes!!”

“That’s why I bought it from there... I also made you Kalguksu and Miyeok-Guk! Maybe it would be too much soup… but I wanted Kalguksu… I blame your children, I blame them both…”

Namjoon laughed while Seokjin lovingly wiped his tears with his hands. Then he produced a gift box from one of the chairs.

“But first, open your present! I’m so excited!!”

“What did you get me…”

Namjoon ripped the decorated paper and saw the gift.

“This is the Chisel Japanese Nomi Set!! Jin-ah, I know this is expensive!!”

“I love the way you’re extending your craft to wood carving, you’re a true artist, my husband, and I wanted to contribute a bit to it.”

“You contribute with your sole existence, my Jin.”

They kissed tenderly.

“Well, now help me to get up, please… There… Let’s eat these soups before they get cold! So my trip to the soup store is not wasted.”

“Did you buy clothes there…”

“No. There’s soup.”

“What do you mean soup…”

They kept bantering and laughing. Namjoon already was preparing Seokjin’s gift for December. And now with the wood carving tools, it will be even more exquisite.

On November 4th, the fraternal twins Soobin and Taehyun were born. Their parents were ecstatic. The first month was a bit chaotic yet with the valuable help of Jimin, the new parents soon got accustomed to the hard work of being a parent.

Seokjin adored the cradles Namjoon made with so much love. They cherished their kids, dedicating their lives to them, their marriage, and their community.

On December 4th, Seokjin’s birthday, Namjoon gifted him a wardrobe adorned with exquisite carvings, made with the tools his husband gave him. The omega usually preferred simpler things, but he was astounded by the beautiful work his husband made in such a short amount of time.

As the years passed, Namjoon and Seokjin became pillars of the community, with the alpha getting national attention thanks to his dedicated work. And their house too, because he adorned everything he could with wood, with the assistance of local designers and artisans, even his sons, paying them handsomely for their work. Their house was recognized as one of the most beautiful houses in Ilsan.

They had troubles like any family, with their highs and lows, but their strength came from their love, their compassion, and the communication they always had. They were truly made for each other, and every day they were thankful for having met on that beautiful day.
