Work Text:
He hears the door being pushed open and swivels around on his chair to look as Felix closes it behind himself. His Christmas jumper is hanging off of his shoulders, oversized in a way that makes Chris want to join him underneath it. If he could share all of his clothes with Felix he would, his arms permanently encircling his waist. Felix looks up and their eyes meet, and he smiles, that soft smile he saves for moments like this, like he can’t believe he gets to have Chris and as always Chris’ heartbeat triples in speed at the sight of it.
“Lock?” He asks, voice a low rumble and his fingers easily clicks the lock on when Chris nods. It feels like years pass by as Chris watches him walk across the small floor space before plopping down sideways in his lap. Eyes crescents from how big he’s smiling at the dopey look Chris know he’s sporting.
“I love you.” Chris blurts out, so gone for this beautiful man in his lap, any space between them feels like it’s too much. Surely someone is looking into how to fuse two people together? – Maybe Chris should invest in that research? But then he wouldn’t be able to gaze down at Felix, trace his eyes over the constellations of freckles. He wouldn’t be able to kiss each and every one of them to wake Felix up whenever he has the chance.
Felix laughs, loud and unabashedly, lets it trickle into giggles against Chris’ lips as he bends down to give him a kiss. Everything always clicks into place when Chris gets to kiss Felix, his stomach erupts in excited butterflies as his heart sings of coming home. He deepens the kiss, wants more, can never get enough when he gets to have Felix for himself.
A whine leaves his lips when Felix pulls back, it’s never enough and Felix laughs once more before bowing down to peck his pouting lips a single time more.
“Yeah, yeah, want it too.” His fingers are cold as they pat Chris’ cheek, he probably forgot his gloves on the walk over. Chris reaches up and grabs the hand still on his cheek and pulls it down between his own two hands to warm up.
“You wanted to show me something?” Felix asks, breath puffing out over the shell of Chris’ ear and Chris has to reboot his brain to remember why he asked Felix over today specifically. He always wants him here, wishes Felix never left his bed.
“Yeah, yes. Uh, give me a sec?” Chris fumbles out and tries to grab his phone on the desk behind him without turning around. Distracted with how his eyes are stuck on the curve of Felix’s neck and how the desire to glue his lips to it is coming back as it always does.
Felix takes pity on him and leans over him, chest pressed against Chris’ face, and he sighs out in bliss at the vanilla undertones of his perfume. He’s still lost in the scent of his loved one when he feels his phone being dropped into his lap between them.
“Show me.” Felix says, voice breathy like he knows what Chris is thinking about, like he’s also thinking about it and Chris is so close to just say fuck it and pull Felix in so he can kiss him until his lips go numb. But then Felix is leaving his lap and grabbing his hand, pulls him over to the bed and lays down. He pats the space beside him with his free hand and Chris scrambles to join him. His breath coming easier to him as soon as Felix lays his head on his chest and tangles their legs together.
“Show me like this?”
And finally, Chris gets a proper hold on his phone and unlocks it. It’s already there. Locked and loaded. His speakers connected and he presses play. Felix will know, he’ll understand, there’s no need for Chris to explain anything.
The song plays out around them, and Felix is listening so intently, lips pursed, eyes narrowed, and Chris feels the ever present need to kiss him pull at him once more. Silence ring out between them when the last note tapers out and Chris waits with bated breath. Felix looks up at him, head still resting on his chest.
“Connected?” He asks, and Chris can’t stop himself, he needs to give Felix a kiss. So, he bends down as much as he can and kisses whatever part of Felix’s face he reaches. Felix giggles again and presses Chris back down with the hand that he uses to prop himself up with until he can look down at Chris.
“Chris? Babe? Did you– Did you, like, write a song about us?
Like a song about us from, you know, before?”
“Yes, I– yeah. Yeah, I did.” And when Felix looks at him, eyes full of questions, Chris elaborates. “It’s easier, yeah? You know, like, to explain away the – uh, the wanting? Instead of the having, you know?”
Felix nods, eyes pensively unfocused and he’s too far away leaning over Chris like this. Too little of their bodies are touching.
“Stays are gonna go wild.” Felix finally says and lowers himself down so he’s laying on top of Chris, chest to chest. “I love it.”
