Chapter Text

With heaven saved, the Metatron gone now it was onto the last of the problems. Gods problem of their impending death. Without God the earth would be alright but the problem was they were going to take the whole world with them including the universe around the earth.

Aziraphale

He was up in Heaven again, like he and Crowley had been for the past three earth days. With God free of her prison she had fixed the time disparity between earth and Heaven so it matched. His partner and him had been back and forth commuting to work on Gods problem every few days, with Lucifer of course at her side. She was still feeling the power of her grace but it wasn’t as overwhelming as before. Using the pairs combined miracles to fix the second comings damage on earth was working out perfectly. Lucifer was at the table today like always, looking stricken at the being next to him. He had petitioned the pair of them to fix up Hell. The demons were frankly too stupid to fix it themselves. At least that was the sentiment. Crowley had told Aziraphale that he was getting used to using big miracles now. They both felt more comfortable doing large scale miracle but the angel was more hesitant as if they went too far it could be a problem. According to God they were containing more power from her as well. Gabriel and Bee were also working on their combined power but they were slower at the process, apparently even though they had a great relationship being beside each other for 6000 years had its perks. The whole thing was going over well. It made Crowley anxious.

“So have you thought about using some of that miracle juice to help Hell not be such a shit hole?” Lucifer was still as bad mouthed as always even in Heaven. He didn’t care about pretense, he was always playing it cool too unlike how Aziraphale had seen him when God and him had come back together. He was completely wrecked then. Aziraphale acknowledged he had been relieved to seen Her.

“I believe it is a good idea. With the new collaboration between Heaven and Hell for the updated processing of souls we will need Hells facility to be in better conditions. With the demons down to such a small number we will need them to work in more comfortable conditions. Have you had time to make the proper announcements? It’s time the demons realize that they have not been condemned. I heard some of them willfully ignored the message before the battle. Such a stubborn lot.” God was sitting straight up in her chair. She had been doing better since everything was going back to normal but She still took refuge in the previous rebel base or in a visit to the bookshop. Even being God with years and years of torture came nightmares, sickness and well what humans call PTSD. Aziraphale didn’t know if she was hiding her stress or if she was just good at covering it up when she was dealing with Heavens affairs.

“Good. Aziraphale, how does it feel to finally have Crowley back up here with you again?” Aziraphale tilted his head slightly to the side.

“I am not sure what you mean.” Crowley who was lying in his chair sideways looked up from his relaxing to look at Lucifer with questions on his face as well. They had been asking how Aziraphale and Crowley had been doing lately and gotten off track again. Honestly Aziraphale had such a hard time keeping god and Satan on the topic of the problems they were trying to fix. It’s why it was taking so long for them to make any decisions.

“Well before the fall you two were inseparable. Practically couldn’t keep you two away from each other to save our lives.” Lucifer who had a huge smile on his face was now loosing it slowly slipping off in confusion. Crowley looked to Lucifer’s face now filled with concern.

“Well, that’s not true. Crowley and I met on several occasions but we barely saw each other in Heaven. Even with Celeste and Ray we both met them but at different times every time.” Aziraphale looked quite uncomfortable now. Crowley looked like the pieces were finally falling into place.

“You don’t remember angel?!” Crowley grabbed his angels hand where it sat on the table folded with his other in front of him. “We met but we saw each other more and more. You remember helping me start time I know you remember that.” Aziraphale nodded at his partner’s insistence.

“Of course dear. What do you mean I don’t remember. I remember our first meeting and several other encounters but they were not many of them and all happened with large gaps.” Aziraphale could feel his anxiety bubbling up in his chest. Everything had been so good recently. Of course something was still wrong, of course something was missing from their perfect life.

“I remember on the wall. You were so hesitant to talk to me. I thought it was because I had fallen but, it wasn’t because of that at all. It was because you didn’t remember me!” Tears rolled down Crowleys face now. Aziraphale looked at him in horror. Crowley almost never cried. It was one of the things he thought a demon would never do so he simply opted not to. He was crying now and furious, Aziraphale could see it in his eyes. “Why doesn’t he remember!” Crowley turned his face to God now, anger pushing over grief.

It was so long ago. The relationship that Aziraphale and Crowley had built now stood on its own. They were together, they were an us and that us was one of the only things that could save the universe. It had felt good to the angel to have his relationship with his demon so readily accepted. Aziraphale of course had known Crowley was a powerful angel before. He knew about his position and had helped him start up the universe but, if he had thought they knew each other before. If they had been more than just aquatinted before the fall and the angel didn’t know! Aziraphale suddenly stood slamming both his fists on the table having ripped them from his partners embrace. Anger welled on the angels face, one of the most powerful being in the universe was so mad he almost broke an indestructible table in Heaven. Crowley slide back in shock. Lucifer was making a face like a fish now. Mouth opened and closed looking between God and the angel and demon combo.

God had stood now too clearly realizing this was her fault, guilt crossed her face briefly and the angel caught it before she could hide it. Furious, Aziraphale pushed the table into God slamming it into her side and having her fall backwards a bit. Crowley grabbed his hands in surprise trying desperately to calm his angel down. His words were drowned out by the loud beating of the angels heart in his ears.

“After everything we have done for you! After we saved you, cared for you and helped you heal you still your keeping things from us!” Aziraphale was roaring now Crowley was sure he was loud enough for all Heaven to hear and although none of the angels would ever go against them after the second coming he couldn’t take the chance that some angels would still rally to Gods side. Crowley grabbed his angel by the neck now standing and pulled the angels head to meet the heartbeat in the demons neck. The angel was hyperventilating, anger in every breath.

“I’m sorry I……” with that God snapped and the angel fell limp to the demons breast. “I took them before the battle. How could angels in love with demons fight them and protect Heaven? It had turned into a battle already! It was the only thing I could do to allow them to fight at full strength! I didn’t want anyone to die but—”The demon glared as he picked his partner up into his arms. It was easier to do in Heaven but Crowley glared at God than and god shrank back against the windows in Heaven. She looked as horrified as one of her attacks but while there was usually comfort for her now there was only anger.

“I assume his memories have now been restored to him?” Crowley growled. God nodded, her eyes still wide. “You are not allowed to go to the bookshop for a while. If you see the angel turn the other way. I forgive you but, I don’t believe he will be as agreeable when he wakes up.” Crowley turned with a half nod to acknowledge Lucifer then turned to the elevator to go back home with his angel.

Aziraphale woke up in his bed surrounded by the things he had collected in life on earth. He reached out and smiled as he stroked a spine of a nearby book. Crowley was lying in the bed next to him, curled up around his side wrapping him in the snakes arms. He smiled at his sleeping face pressed to his chest and rubbed his cheek. The angel remembered now. The angel remembered their actual first kiss. The one that Crowley had but Aziraphale had not. He remembered stolen moments, secret meetings between the two angels. Moments that were definitely inappropriate for two angels to have. Soft lingering touches. Light kisses, a more domestic life than he could have ever imagined. It had been so beautiful. If he had remembered it when he met Crowley on that wall he would have thrown himself at the demon and into the demons arms. No wonder Crowley had spoken to him right away! And the response he had gotten from his angel! At that time he was already Crowleys angel but he was hesitant and cold. No wonder after the first meeting on the wall it had been years between meetings, Crowley was heartbroken! The memory had flashed so quickly inside the angels head he had needed a rest but his anger still flashed in his chest but he pushed it down. She had ruined 6000 years of their lives, she would not ruin a single second more. The angel scolded herself thinking of how he had taken her under his wing and helped her heal from the torture. God was not a good being, he knew that now. Maybe soon it would be time to get away from it all for awhile. He didn’t feel like helping her with her little problem too much anymore but, there was the earth to think about so maybe he wouldn’t have a choice. Crowley rolled and groaned next to him waking softly.

When he saw the angel was awake he shot up quickly.

“Angel, are you alright? How are you feeling! Do you remember now?” Crowley tilted his head as he lost his breath quickly asking all of his questions. Aziraphale smiled. The angel grabbed the demons front collar and pulled him closer.

“I do now, my nebula.” Crowleys face turned a fetching shade of red blending with his hair and the angel pulled him into a long passionate kiss that had them both breathing hard and moaning against each other. When they pulled away they were both smiling. “It makes sense your nickname was after the most beautiful thing I had seen at that point in my life.” Crowley was still blushing. “And even without my memories I fell in love with you all over again. I would fall in love with you over and over no matter what.” The confessions came faster, the kissing more deep and constant till the two were connected without breathing for longer and longer. Their passion swirled in whispered confessions and long deep moans.

Whatever the future may hold for them, they were together now. Forever and ever. The universe was safe, for now and they were safe in bed together where they had belonged since the beginning of time.

Notes:

All done! This chapter was written before God even met Lucifer again. That's actually my favorite part as their relationship was not planned in the initial fic planning. If you have anything to say go ahead and leave a comment, I know my writing style is odd in this fic and there are PLENTY of mistakes so thank you for being so kind on my first ever completed and very long fic for a series I truly love.
