    Summary

    “I’ll tell dad!”

And the glee plastered on his older brother's face flickered and died in an instant. The hands grasping his shoulders went still and the bob in his throat became visible for a heartbeat moment, though despite Evan’s thrashing and continued fighting he did not remove the top of his skull from the metal teeth.

“You won't,” Michael said after a second of stunned silence, dropping the accent he had faked for most of school. His friends cast confused looks his way, but he ignored them. “If I take you out of here, you won’t tell father,” it was not a question, it was a statement. Hurriedly, Evan nodded. “Come on guys, put him down,”

or, the crying child lives, and somehow this doesn't change much.

"The Sixth Stage of Grief" by ImArson_404

Truly a behemoth of an unexpectedly fantastic one-shot. The summary of the story led me to believe this would be a canon-divergence story wherein Michael remained an asshole (something I'm not looking for when reading a longer Crying Child-centric ficlet.)

But oh man, was I wrong... I was at the edge of my seat for a large duration of the story, the way it's written is very engaging and really pulls you into the story.

The domestic(?) scenes between the two brothers were written quite sweetly, you could really see that they care for each other, them lightly poking fun at / belittling the other is so real and I love that for them. However, there is also angst, which hits equally as hard. Both have their respective charms, get yourself a fanfiction which can be ridiculous and have its serious moments simultaneously.

I definitely do live and also will die for Evan and Michael's dynamic. In terms of fanfic, their stories have so many possibilities and I'm all for that, whether it be based in the past, present or future. It can also go in such different directions like Evan being unforgiving, Michael remaining an asshole, anything really.

There needs to be more FNAF 4 content I feel, we all know about these nightmares or odd dream sequences, but it's lacking in the fanfic department. I love how Evan's nightmares were written and how they'd foreshadow(?), made sense of something(?)...yeah.

Speaking of Evan, the thoughts from his perspective were amazingly written, depressing- yet wonderful. His anxiety- or doubtfulness affected me as well, this really proves how good it's written. Curse my judging of fanfic before even giving it a chance, curse that I say, continuing doing that and shrinking my pool of storis to be read.

I really can't praise the writing of the characters enough... This changed my brain chemistry and my life has again been ruined, the people in this fandom need to take a chill pill. The funni freddy fazbear stories are too good for their own good and I believe more people need to recognise.
