Chapter Text
Isadora's head was spinning. She had found out that Klaus was still alive years ago, before she had even birthed Mireya into the world. But now she finds out that he has a new family. Isadora, even though she would not ever show it, felt like she just got stabbed in the heart.
That man has done nothing but break her heart more and more whenever she hears about him since he faked his death two decades ago and she fled town. She was use to it now though. She ignored it most of the time though as she had two kids to look after, her darling Mireya and her beloved Isaac.
Isadora was so invested in her own thoughts that she hadn't heard anything Alaric mentioned after saying Klaus' siblings apparently also had children of their own. She had mentally checked out for the time being. The only person who seemed to have noticed was Mireya.
"Mom?" Mireya said, shaking her mother's shoulder. "Mom? You there?" Mireya still got no response and decided to do this the easy, and kinda mean, way.
Mireya stood up and put both her hands on her mother's shoulders and violently shook her. This seemingly worked and managed to bring Isadora back to the real world.
"Are you okay mom?" Mireya asked, worried for her mother. She usually never acted like this. So when this did happen, Mireya was worried. Isadora was also very open with Mireya about everything once she hit teenagerhood, so Mireya assumed that this was likely due to her father making a reappearance in her mother's life out of nowhere.
"I-I'm fine Mireya, my dear." Isadora said, stuttering a little and not so convincingly. "I'll be fine, my dear."
Mireya then helped her mother up off the chair, offering her hand. Isadora took it and pushed herself up off the chair. She then hugged her daughter and kissed her forehead before saying, "Well I'm gonna head to my room. I just need to lay down for a little bit."
Mireya still looked at her mother worried as Alaric said, "Okay Issa. Just let me know if you need anything. Alright?"
"Will do Ric." Isadora said, before leaving his office. She then walked out the door and went to her personal bedroom.
Mireya turned around to face Alaric, a worried expression on her face. "Well I should be going too I guess." Alaric nodded. "I'll give her space, she needs it. If something does happen, please let me know. Please Uncle Ric?"
"I absolutely will Reya." Alaric said. "Now go get some rest. The next few days probably won't be easy for either of you."
Mireya nodded and then left Alaric's office and headed back to her dorm room. It wasn't that far of a walk and by the time she and her mother were done with Alaric, Jenna had made her way back to the dorm. Though Jenna wasn't alone.
"Hey Jen. I see you made your way back." Mireya said as she walked into their dorm. Jenna nodded before Mireya continued, "Hey Mags, Hey Lina."
Margaret and Catalina smiled at Mireya, before Margaret asked, "Is something wrong Mireya?"
"Yeah, you seem kinda upset Reya." Catalina added in.
"I'd rather not talk about it girls." Mireya said with a sigh, climbing onto her bed.
Jenna leaned over to Margaret and Catalina and whispered, "I think it's best you two go for now. I'll talk to you guys later."
The two girls nodded in understanding, getting up and leaving the room. They waved to Mireya on their way out and Mireya waved back.
Jenna then got up and walked towards Mireya and asked, "Mireya, in all seriousiness, are you okay? You don't seem to be." Jenna was worried for her best friend and cousin.
"Like I said, I'd rather not talk about it." Mireya said, trying to push Jenna's worries away.
Jenna thought for a minute and then asked, "Is this about your father?" Jenna looked over at the blonde after asking.
Mireya's eyes widened, wondering how Jenna figured it out. "How do you know?" Mireya asked with not much emotion.
"My mother and Aunt Issa are very close, so mom knows a lot about Klaus and I tend to eavesdrop a lot. Plus Aunt Issa gets like this a lot when Klaus Mikaelson is mentioned in specific settings."
Mireya sighed and rolled over, as to face Jenna. "Then yes, it's about my father."
"What does the issue seem to be this time?" Jenna inquired.
"Apparently Klaus had another family after he left town. I have half-siblings and apparently a few cousins other then you now." Mireya explained.
"But that doesn't fully explain-" Jenna started to say before being cut off.
"Him and his new wife enrolled their kids here. They start in the next few days." Mireya blurted.
Jenna's eyes went wide. She walked over to Mireya's bed and climbed on. She then pulled Mireya into her and hugged her. She could feel Mireya break down and start crying in her arms. Mireya may not care for Klaus most of the time, but her father's absence has taken somewhat of a toll on her.
