“So the deal is set?” Stiles asked, his hands moving in a dramatic flourish, bright yellow sparkles following the trail of his fingers.

“Begrudgingly, yes,” Noshiko said, turning on her heel to walk back into the forest. She paused, looking back over her shoulder at him. She still couldn’t believe she’d had to stoop so low as to ask this creature for help, but she hadn’t known what she unleashed when she called down the Nogitsune.

“Don’t forget - you owe me your firstborn, unless you give me my name!” A wicked grin spread across his face, eyes impossibly shimmering as the moonlight hit them.

“Foxes don’t forget,” she mumbled, knowing the words would carry. She didn’t see what the big issue was, considering she couldn’t imagine falling in love with someone again, and especially not having a child.

“I’m headed out, be back later!” Kira called out, pulling on her boots.

“Do we finally get to meet your boyfriend?” Noshiko asked, crossing her arms as she watched her daughter. It still surprised her that she had actually settled down after all this time. She knew she was overly cautious, sometimes to the detriment of their relationship, but she had to keep Kira safe. Even after all these years of searching, she still didn’t know the name of the creature who made the deal.

“Yes,” Kira said, rolling her eyes. “We’re going to see the new Batman movie, and then we’re coming back here for dinner.”

“I’ll try to keep her from scaring him off like she did with the last one,” Ken joked as he joined the conversation.

“Eh, they weren’t the one for me, we would’ve fallen apart over something else if you hadn’t.”

“We just want you to be happy,” Ken said, giving his wife a pointed look. When she rolled her eyes in response, Ken couldn’t help but smile, seeing his daughter reflected in her mother.

Walking up to the movie theater, Kira could see Stiles fidgeting, fingers practically alight with the movement. Sneaking up to him was easy enough, and he barely jumped when she slid her hand into his, lacing their fingers together.

Stiles turned, recognizing the feeling of Kira’s skin on his, and he smiled, leaning in to kiss her. He let his other hand reach for hers, and they stood like that for a moment, kissing and holding hands, before she pulled away. He opened his eyes, not realizing they’d drifted closed, and saw her beaming at him.

“You ready?” She asked, giving his right hand a squeeze as she released his other one, leading him toward the box office.

“Always, with you,” Stiles said, lightly bumping into her side. After she told the attendant which movie they wanted, he pulled out his wallet to pay. Inside, he noticed the frayed edges on the magical sheet of paper he’d carried with him for over two decades now, the magic finally running out. It was a timer of sorts, to ensure both ends of the bargain struck all those years ago were held up. Kira didn’t even notice it, and Stiles wasn’t sure if the magic prevented its victim from seeing it.

“And are you... ready ?” Kira asked, much quieter this time as she stood on her toes to whisper into his ear.

“You’ll have to be more specific,” Stiles said, leading Kira toward the back of the theater with their linked hands. Only when they were settled in their seats did he break contact, running his hands over his thighs nervously.

“Do I?” Kira asked with false innocence, guiding his hand into her pants. She wasn’t looking to go all the way in the theater, but she needed him to feel just how wet she already was.

“Oh, that ,” Stiles responded, layering on his own innocence. “In that case, yes, my sweet vixen, I am. It’s even the one you picked out for me.”

“That’s a good boy,” Kira said, her voice almost a growl.

Unable to stop himself, Stiles ran a finger over her clit, just to get a reaction. When she gasped, head spinning to look at him, he saw the flare of orange in her eyes. It was only being in public that prevented him from getting on his knees right then.

“Kira?” Ken called out, hearing the door click shut. “Is that you?”

“Who else would it be?” She responded, laughter in her voice.

Noshiko looked to Ken, sharing the jolt of fear they both had anytime they heard an unexpected sound. She’d told him about the deal she struck with the forest creature, and he’d understood. They’d both accepted the risks when they decided to have a child, but they knew their time would be up sooner rather than later.

As they rounded the corner to meet the boyfriend Kira had been talking about for weeks, Noshiko froze. Ken continued forward, none the wiser, as he pulled the young man into a hug. He always said handshakes are too formal.

“Kira?” Noshiko asked, practically breathless. She had to be imagining this.

“Mom, this is Stiles,” Kira said, in her voice hesitant. She could sense something was wrong, but she pressed on.

“I know,” Noshiko said. She didn’t want to make a scene, but she had to protect her daughter. Had he really stooped so low as to fake a relationship with Kira just to get back at her?

“We’ve met,” Stiles finally spoke, eyes gleaming. “Pleasure to see you again, Mrs. Yukimura!” He lifted his hand in the gesture of a handshake, but Noshiko didn’t move, refusing to break eye contact.

“You have?” Ken asked, looking between the two. He might’ve only been human, but he knew something was wrong now that he took a look at his wife.

“Long time ago. But we’re all new people now, right? Let’s just let the past lie where it is.”

Stiles glanced at Kira, and suddenly Noshiko understood. He didn’t want to hurt her . He might not have cared about Noshiko, but somehow he’d ended up caring for Kira.

“I don’t think it’s that easy,” Noshiko said, finally looking away as she considered her options. She still had a sword in her study; it was a display piece, but it would cut through flesh all the same. “My husband can attest to that, the history teacher that he is.”

Nobody seemed to have a response to that, and the room fell into a heavy silence, tense with unspoken words. One might have thought a freezing spell was placed on everyone, until the timer started going off, shocking Ken out of his confusion.

“That’ll be the lasagna,” he muttered, backing away and walking to the kitchen. “Don’t want to let it burn.”

Of course a food crisis would be the thing to pull away the threads of an inter-generational magical arrangement. A smile flickered across Kira’s face as she gestured to the kitchen, implying she was going to help her dad. Stiles gave the slightest of nods, pressing a kiss to her cheek before she left.

“What are you doing?” Noshiko asked, the patience gone from her voice. “I’ve been waiting for years to lose my baby, and yet you just waltz up with her already under your thumb? I’m not giving her up that easily.”

“Do we really need to do this?” Stiles asked, letting his annoyance cover for the worry he felt. “I mean, we’re the ones who made the deal, maybe we don’t have to follow through.”

“Don’t act like you’re the age you look,” Noshiko warned. “We both know how binding magic is, regardless of the victor. Now, are you going to make killing you easy, or do we have to go about this the hard way?”

Before Stiles could answer, Ken called out that dinner was ready. When neither he nor Noshiko moved, Kira bounded back into the room.

“Mieczyslaw Stilinski, get your ass in here. Mom, no killing my boyfriend. We’re going to sit down like a civilized family and eat dad’s delicious food.” She stood in the doorway to the kitchen, arms folded, eyes flickering a dangerous orange. If either party had supernatural vision, they would be able to see her fox aura burning around her.

“How long -” Stiles started, but Kira pulled him into a kiss, cutting him off.

“Have I known you were magical? Since we first met. It took me a little longer to figure out your name, though.”

“But the deal was that you’d be mine, unless my name was discovered. I found you before we even formally met. How?”

“I’m a kitsune, silly. Trickster spirit?” Kira raised her brows, surprised he hadn’t put it together yet. “I thought it would be funny to see how this magical agreement would play out. Besides, I think we can all agree that you’re mine now.”

“Why didn’t you tell me you knew?” Noshiko asked, speaking for the first time since the shock of Kira’s revelation.

“Why didn’t you tell me I might be stolen away in the night, bartered for some boost in power all those years ago?”

Noshiko didn’t have a response to that, and Kira hadn’t expected her to. She just nodded and walked to the dining room for the promised meal. All that time spent hiding Kira away, being overprotective, and for it to end like this? It felt too easy, too anticlimactic.

“Stop overthinking it,” Ken said softly, scooping out the lasagna onto everyone’s plate. He smiled at Kira and Stiles as they took their seats, happy that everything seemed to work out. He’d told Kira it might not be the best way to go about it, but she was having fun with it.

“When you asked if I was ready,” Stiles started, closing Kira’s bedroom door behind them before turning, crowding her back against it. “What exactly did you mean?”

Kira looked up at him, amused by the turn of events. She let herself play the innocent girlfriend for another moment, letting him feel powerful and dangerous, his hands on the door on either side of her head.

“Well, it’s the first time meeting my parents, I didn’t want you to be nervous.”

“Try again,” Stiles said, but he couldn’t help the slight quirk of his mouth as he fought the smile.

“Okay, then,” Kira said. She nodded and leaned up to kiss him, a chaste peck on the lips. Her hands drifted up, fingertips edging under his shirt to touch bare skin. She got the reaction she wanted, the hiss Stiles let out showing his weakened resolve. “I wanted to know if you were ready to be found out, to know that I knew exactly who you are.”

With that, Kira moved quickly, turning them to press Stiles back against the door, fingernails skating along his torso. She moved with ease, maintaining eye contact as she unbuckled his belt, pulling his pants and boxers down in one go.

“You might want to cast a silencing charm on the room,” Kira warned. She faintly noticed Stiles’ hands moving elegantly, glimmering yellow dust following his fingertips as he made quick work of the spell.

Before he knew what was happening, Stiles felt himself being guided to step out of his jeans, leaving his lower half bare. Kira spun him, and his hands slammed into the door, making him grateful he’d listened to her suggestion. She nudged his legs apart before spreading his ass slightly.

“I needed to know if you were ready for this,” Kira spoke again before nipping at the flesh of his ass. She kissed the same spot, then trailed kisses across the skin until she reached the jeweled heart of the butt plug he wore, pressing a kiss to it as well. As she ran one hand of nails along his leg, sending shivers down his body, she brought the other to gently stroke his cock.

“I’m ready for whatever you want to give me,” Stiles said, breathless.
