Work Text:
Yu Ziyuan stomped across the floorboards towards her room, dragging along a probably sleeping(dead) Wei Wuxian.
Jiang Yanli stopped to look at her, as a confused expression graced her face.
“Mama, what did A-Ying do?”
Yu Ziyuan stopped to look at her daughter, still seething from anger.
“Listen to what your STUPID Didi has done.”
Yu Ziyuan and her family were sitting down at the dinner table, congee in their bowls.
“—So then he was talking bad about Jie Jie, so I punched him!” Wei Ying said, his fists slamming down onto the table as his spoon slightly shifted in his bowl from the sudden movement.
“Wei Ying. Behave at the dinner table, this isn’t a zoo and you aren’t an animal.”
Yu Ziyuan sternly said, her eyes not moving from her food.
Jiang Yanli sighed, but she quickly noticed him lowering his hand, grabbing something from his pocket, and sprinkling it over everyone’s meal.
‘Is A-Ying trying to feed us spice again?’ She wondered.
Wei Ying snickered as he put the- bottle? Container? Whatever it was back into his pockets.
They continued to eat with Wei Ying snorting here and there.
As Yu Ziyuan took another bite of her food, she tasted something weird. Was it sweet potato? What the hell?
Just as she was about to ask him, Jiang Yanli tapped Wei Ying on his shoulder and proceeded to ask him the question lingering on her mother’s mind.
“A-Ying, did you add sweet potato to the congee??” She asked, just as confused as her mother.
Wei Ying shook his head, trying not to burst out in laughter.
There on forth, Wei Ying added what looked like spice into the congee every few minutes.
Spice, spice, SPICE.
Afterwards, when they were done eating, Wei Ying decided to ask them a question.
“Did you guys like the congee with SUGAR?”
….
HE USED SUGAR INSTEAD OF SPICE.
