Gwen didn’t listen and took another step forward, fighting against her dad’s words and her spider-sense. Looking to be pulled free from this nightmare by her dad, who would hold her in his arms and let her sob her soul out when the reality finally hit her.
The deafening crack of gunfire broke the sound barrier, upending the silence that had engulfed Gwen’s world. The scent of gunpowder flooded the space between them, and distantly Gwen heard a round clatter to the floor.

Gwen is shot by her own father and brought into Spider Society under vastly different circumstances, changing the course of her story, the multiverse, and what it means to be a Gwen Stacy.
