Tick tock, tick tock...
That was the sound of the clock ringing on his small phone, he looked at the screen and only saw a huge red timer with ten minutes left before everything was destroyed. His idea used against himself and all those he loves, it would be funny if it weren't tragic... Hah..
Maximus remained still, he didn't move or do the least to at least say that he tried to survive, just seeing all his friends passing by him like figures, all with such desperate and scared faces, Max hoped they would survive, he really did, but him? Hah.. he doesn't need it, he doesn't have anyone or a reason to try, he just accepted his fate.
Dying for your creation, your idea, wasn't that beautiful? A weak smile formed on his face as he sat and waited, the timer ticked down to 5 minutes, his little demons pulled at him, cried out, whimpered for Maximus to try, for him to escape, for him to live. Why is that? He doesn't need this, he doesn't need any of this, he's okay with dying, it's not like anyone would miss him after all, he was just another statistic on an isolated island that was completely destroyed by your influence.
It didn't take long and an event began, meteors. Maximus continued to stand still, now lying down watching those beautiful "stars" fall from the sky and destroying what they hit, he saw the world shaking, he saw the place on fire and admired it, he felt a warm feeling settle in his being as he watched everything happen.. There were 50 seconds left for his bomb to explode, his little ones had given up and were now whimpering and sniffling in his hair, all of them hidden and trembling with fear, fearing that they would never again see the light of the beautiful sun that always illuminated and made their cabin shine on that small island that a one day he thought it was a good place.
10 seconds to explode and he felt a touch so subtle on his cheeks that he almost wouldn't notice it, he looked up only to find the ones he was crying out for to return, those colorful and childish eyes staring at him with a big smile on their face. He looked to the side and found that tired face and those blue eyes that he missed seeing so much, they called him and who was he to say no?
Maximus, a detective, also needed a break and he finally has it now in his hands. Maximus soon hugged those he calls family, his eyes filling with tears as the timer ticked 00:00 and the sound in the background was a bang, a huge explosion dominating the place but Maximus didn't see it, he didn't see how the earth shook, how the place turned white, how the animals and people had their skin torn apart and destroyed, how his body had been completely charred, or how he heard his little ones taking their last breath and snuggled into his hair and stayed there. He was already on the other side, he was with those he loved, he didn't need anything else.
