Chapter Text

American sorcery

Part- 2.

WE leave off with Amal staring back at the strange man that just destroyed the monster.

I don't own Jujutsu Kaisen, or any work of Gege Akutami, or shounen.

--------

Cursed energy was never suppressed only in Japan, and now, thousands of years later, curses are found all around the world, including America. We now follow the sorcerers of America in the modern day. And all the sinister evils that await them.

“Hey! Are you a curse user, or sorcerer?” The man asked loudly.

Amal only just stared back at the man, with wide eyes, and still confused about the new unforeseen situation.

“Oh my god. Bro you have control over curse energy. So you have to be a user.”

“What is… curse energy?”

(“Was it the energy that came off him?”) Amal tried to guess.

“What?” The man was now confused.

“You are using curse energy. Are you not? Wait. Did you just say you don't know what curse energy is?” The man asked.

Amal nodded, still bleeding profusely from the head.

“You're kidding.” The man now deadpans at Amal.

“I'm serious.”

“Welp. Um… (What do I do here?”) The man stood there dumbfounded.

“Ahhh? What would Nicholas do here?” The man scratched his head then, and then rubbed his chin until finally hitting his palm with his fist.

“Yeah I'll just bring you to him.”  Then he silently murmured to himself. “Even though my job was just to exercise a curse.”

“But I can barely even move right now.”

The man stared back at Amal with dead eyes.

“(I'm not dragging this guy back to base.)” “Ahhhh… Fine, I'll take you to an emergency clinic, then you'll go to base tomorrow.”

“Still hard to move, but hopefully it isn't too far.” Amal was ready to walk. Then Amal was concerned for a moment.

“Wait, I can't afford an emergency room visit.” Amal told his concern.

“First I'll just drive you to a nearby one, and second you don't need to pay, that's covered, dude.” The man did an ok sign to Amal.

“Okay then…?.” Amal wasn't convinced.

“Lets go dude, or do you want to bleed out?” The man started walking out of the school, looking annoyed at every second that passed by.

Junsei followed the man, limbing at every step on the way.

"Okay, get in the car." Then the man pointed at his white Ford escort, which was parked in the school parking lot.

"A Ford?" Amal looked at the men with pity.

"Yes, a Ford. Now get in."

Amal remembered that you weren't supposed to go into strange men's cars, but whatever question Amal would want answered, it would be through this man.

The car ride started soon after. So Amal wanted to ask some questions already.

"So... what's your name?" Amal asked from the front passenger seat.

The man looked back at Amal. "Cain. Cain Young." Cain said, looking back at the road.

"Well, my name is Amal Luman." God, the car ride was very awkward for the rest of the way.

"So... What where thos-"

Cain answered before anything else. "Curse spirits, basically ghosts. Something about them being born with negative emotions from people, but that's a long explanation. That will be answered tomorrow.”

"That barely explained anything and gave me more questions." Amal became dumbfounded by the very poorly explained topic.

" Yawnnnnn... Okay, man, I get it. New things. You're very confused. But I'm tired. I've been hunting curses for a while now."

"Wha- Ah-" Amal didn't know what to think anymore; new information was coming in, and no one answered it. only leaving Amal in a stupor.

* 〰Silence〰*

The man did notice the lack of good vibes in the car. So he decided to blast some very obscure rap songs, or that's what Amal could put, because Amal did know a single one of the songs, or artist that made them.

"I gotta testify.
Come up in the spot looking extra-fly.
'Fore the day I die, I'ma touch the sky
Gotta testify."

Cain sang away at the rap song.

"Hey, cmon, dude. Get into i-. Ah... yeah... Injured." Cain went back to driving.

" (Is this guy... right in the head? This guy just went from a grumpy tired guy to an upbeat guy.)"   Amal honestly didn't know what to think. But time passed, and the music came and went in the moments.

It was around 8:00 p.m. when Amal and Cain made it to the emergency clinic. Or, in this instance, it was just a small urgent care clinic. And once Cain parked his car near the front, Amal exited the car, with Cain staying in.

"Okay, I'm leaving you here. And here, fetch." Cain threw a card in Amal's direction from his car. "Oh yeah. Make sure to mention the name Isaac." Cain began to drive off.

"What about my number!"  Amal yelled out, concerned about how he was supposed to contact Cain.

"Oh, that. I have your name now, so except to be contacted." Cain drove off, only leaving Amal with more questions.

"I... oh my god." Amal sighed to himself. But decided to look at the card he was holding now, noticing the text on it.

"Property of the U.S.S.G. property of the U.S. government. Authorized personnel may use this card. Improper use is a crime and must be returned to authorized personnel." That was what the card said, and what else was left was a chip on the back.

"What the hell did I involve myself in?" This was bigger than Amal could imagine. But either way, Amal rolled into the clinic and went up to the front office.

“Hello, are you making an appoi- Oh god, you look terrible.” The front nurse looked at Amal’s injuries.

“Hello, are you making an appoi- Oh god, you look terrible.” The front nurse looked at Amal’s injuries. and concluded Amal would need an emergency check-in.

Things happened relatively quickly. Junsei was rushed into a doctor's office, checked in, and asked simple medical questions about the cause of the injury. Amal simply responded that he fell down some stairs, which raised some eyebrows, but the process continued.

Amal got treated. And according to the analysis, Amal had some deep cuts that were stitched up.  A light concussion that the doctor told him wouldn't cause any serious brain damage And even his previous burn on his arm, to which they applied some cream. But it got to the most important part of the medical procedure. How is he going to pay?

"Okay, sir, what is your medical provider?" The doctor asked, looking at his clipboard, ready to list the information.

"Uhhhhh...  Here...?" Amal was very nervous as he was handing over the card. "And the guy was Issac."

The doctor took a good, long look at the card and looked back at Amal with wide eyes. "Um... you work for the... government?'

"Mm-hmm." Amal stared back at the doctor without blinking and gave a barely passable smile.

"How old are you?"

"...18..." Amal was cringing at every moment. "(This isn't going to work.")

"Okay then. Im going to check this." The doctor left the room with questioning eyes just before he left.

" (Im done for.") At this point, Amal was awaiting his imminent demise. But just a couple minutes later, the doctor came in with a vibe of regret in him.

"Um, thank you for your service, sir. We will give you your prescription drugs soon."

" (HUH?)"   Those were Amal's thoughts just before he was now standing outside of the clinic with the black card back and a bag of medicine.

Amal just stopped thinking and decided to make his way back home. Or more like an apartment room.

Amal Apartment was located in a not-so-nice neighborhood, but in either case, he was able to get to it. The apartment was pretty standard, if Amal would put it that way; it was just a little too dirty to his liking, but livable.

*Click* the front door opening, with Amal entering the apartment. And there was Amal's mother. sitting on a chair in the kitchen area.

"Amal, where have you been?" *Gasp* Amal's mother immediately noticed Amal's stitches. "Oh my god, what happened to you!?!"

"Long story, Mom."

"C'mon, Amal, how many times has this been already?" Amal's mom yelled at her with concern for her son.

To her, this wasn't new, even before his fights against the new-found name, the curse ghosts. Amal was always getting into fights, accidents, and even more to name. nearly all resulting in some injury for Amal. causing Amal's mother to worry every day.

"Amal, please stop doing this, and now you have stitches on you. You're making me worry every day. I don't know if one day you will come back looking even worse." Amal's mother was nearly going into tears; the concern for her son could be felt across the air.

Amal's curiosity in life was always a detriment to her health, but to this day, she still accepts everything about her son. Even his flaws "I'm sorry, mom." Amal sat down next to his mother. But before the tears, Amal's mother grabbed Amal's face.

"And how did you get these stitches? You know we can't afford stuff like this." Amal's mother scanned over Amal's face. nearly changing the topic in one instance. Amal's mother was always spontaneous. This was something he got from his mother.

"Um... the insurance worked somehow?" Amal made an excuse, but technically, it was insurance.

"What really?"

"Yes, I guess younger people get better life coverage...? Buy hey, they have me some prescriptions too." Amal took the medicine out of the bag. Seeing that there were some medicines, you wouldn't know without researching them and their effects on the body, but in this case, the descriptions and directions were on the back.

"But please. Amal, don't get into too much trouble. I know I can't stop who you are, but be careful." Amal's mother got up from her seat and went into the kitchen to finish any food that was left over from what she made prior to Amal getting back.

The night passed, and the dinner was as good as it always was, with Amal getting back into his bed in his room to think. But to him, sleeping was not one of those things. Amal really couldn't sleep, only thinking of the man, and everything he said came into his head. So for a few minutes, Amal was just staring at the ceiling of his room, but something Amal forgot to mention was the drugs he had just taken for his injuries. causing the boy to enter a state of haziness and then sleep.

What Amal dreamed that night was just that encounter with the massive creature and that talk he had with the man. So many questions, not enough answers. Amal just wants an answer.

Okay. This chapter was shorter because the next chapter is going to be the big one.

But in either case, how did you enjoy the current story? And Amal's character?

But no one might answer that, because there was zero view in the last chapter. ;(

Notes:

Well, I was working on this story mostly in the back of my head. But I haven't fully finished really brainstorming the whole plot of this. But just except a completely new story of The JJK, you know. Of course, this is based in the same universe, but in an AU.

I think this idea is great, and I can't wait to expand the story more and add more characters to it. And the world-building opportunities I have at my disposal are actually infinite and exciting. kind of like a spin-off. Well I wouldn't say a spin-off, but ill to kind of try to treat this story as one. So look out for the new world of Jujutsu Kaisen.

But don't accept any of the main cast. Yet.

Well, see you for now, and good day.
