Chapter Text
Letting out a noise as Furina stretched, she let her full body weight sink into her comfortable bed. It felt as if she was a balloon full of helium that finally had the chance to deflate. It wasn’t even 11am yet and she was already feeling the full effects of exhaustion, whether that be emotionally or physically, she had no clue.
Furina wouldn’t say her mask fully slipped on again, but it definitely did appear for a couple brief moments back during her conversations. Something that she was not proud of and would need to work on,as her reign as Focalors was, is, over. She shouldn’t feel the need to put such a high barrier up between her and even the melusines. Perhaps old habits just die hard.
Sighing a bit, Furina turned herself over and laid on her stomach, staring out the window that had light beams of sunlight filtering into her room. Her stomach was still quietly rumbling but for now she figured she’d put that off so that she could have some time to herself before she had to go out and face the Archon and Elemental Sovereign in her kitchen. A weird thought that she never thought would actually come into her head.
In all actuality, she should go out soon just to make sure that Neuvillette hasn’t tried to judge Venti yet, but taking a moment to actually think about it, she’s certain that he won’t do that, despite however much teasing the God of Wind does. Besides, she needs some time to recollect her bearings.
The thought of the two of them discussing matters diplomatically lightened her mood a bit. When Furina used to be the archon, most of the diplomatic matters were left to her, at least the easy ones were. Visiting other nations, cultural affairs, anything of those sorts were her forte.
Anything involving paperwork and documents was always left to Neuvillette. Shaking her head a bit as she relished the feel of her soft bed, she let out a small sigh. This was definitely not the morning she expected, and while the presence of the two men in her kitchen was not fully unwelcomed, it definitely still left a weird feeling in her stomach.
Furina was still not sure how she felt about seeing Neuvillette so soon. It felt like being dropped into a pool of freezing cold water the moment she opened the door and saw him. She had wanted to see him on her own terms. When she felt like she had enough time to heal her metaphorical wounds. When she felt like she could swallow the remainder of her pride to speak with the man who put her on trial.
She knows that he had no ill-will or bad intention showing up to her home, she just feels robbed of the chance of having time for herself to heal. She wanted to do it on her own terms.
If she’s being honest, everything has felt too fast for her. It’s been two days, Fontaine is in its rebuilding process and everything, it's not unusual for Neuvillette to be on top of his priorities, but she didn’t feel like she should be at the top of the list of “Rebuilding Fontaine.” He and the melusines could’ve waited to bring her stuff, hell, the melusines could’ve come alone.
It wouldn’t have bothered her that much, if it weren’t for the fact of all the information she’s learned in the past 24 hours, and the fact that it was Neuvillette that showed up on her doorstep so soon after she learned everything.
Furina kind of wishes that Focalors left her any kind of words, memories, anything that could help her adjust, anything that would’ve potentially explained the immortality, the underlying power that Venti mentioned.
I wonder if Venti ever met Focalors..
The thought floats around in her brain as she lays there, her stomach still quietly protesting. Before the cataclysm Furina was sure that the archons knew of each other. Although Egeria was the archon during that time, not Focalors. That doesn’t mean there wasn’t a time that they wouldn’t have met. After all, there's a lot of foggy memories in Furina’s head, and a lot of missing ones too.
Nothing more prevalent than the memories of her past facade acting as an archon.
Maybe that would be something that she’d have to ask the god in her kitchen about later, but for now, she needed to get some food in her stomach.
Pushing off her bed, Furina dusted off her still dirty clothes, and stood up. Her clothes felt gross and icky, like they clung to her skin. For now she’d have to deal with it as she eye’d the boxes on her right, deciding to look for new clothes later. She had to go talk to the two powerful figures in her kitchen.
Furina wasn’t exactly sure how she’d approach them, does she put her mask back and on and try to get them out as soon as possible so she can eat her cake, shop for food and go back to being on her own? Or does she be as nice as humanly possible and let them take their time?
She had no energy to answer any questions outside of the basics, and was not looking forward to any more questions that they may have.
Cracking her knuckles (a habit she started during her act as a way to relieve some anxiety) she admired the feel of her trimmed hair. Sedene did a good job at trimming down the uneven edges and strands and making them flow well together. She’d have to try and get the little melusine a gift next time she saw her.
Walking towards her door and pushing it open, she started what felt like a walk of shame. For no reason in particular did it feel shameful, maybe it was the fact that she realized that she let two extremely powerful people see her in the aftermath of one of her worst states ever. Maybe it was because they could squish her in an instant with their power, and all she could do is just stand there.
Maybe not a walk of shame, just a walk of exhaustion.
Yeah. She’ll go with that. Anything that takes away from the past two days, hell, anything that takes away from the past 400 years.
Was she going insane? Potentially, possibly, maybe. Was all of it just now crashing down on her now? Also potentially.
Letting out a sigh as her stomach grumbled once more, she continued her walk to the kitchen preparing to carefully put her mask back on. It wasn’t going to pleasant for her, but it was the best course of action. She can’t let anyone ever see her like that again, not out of any kind of pride, but out of terror.
If anyone ever saw what became of the former Hydro Archon, it would be awful. She can already imagine the unhappy Fontainians when she goes out, sure the one lady that was still in awe of her being an exception, but she’s just human now. Nothing special, nothing remarkable, nothing over the top. Just human.
Just Furina.
A somber feeling overcomes her as she rounds the corner, and sees the doorway to her kitchen. Pushing it down as hard as she can, she puts her metaphorical mask on and walks into the kitchen.
The first thing she notices is a lack of dandelion seeds everywhere, a nice welcoming change that makes her grateful that she doesn’t have to pick up the seeds one by one. The other thing that she notices is the silence of the two men sitting at her table.
Neuvillette looks like he’s deep in thought while Venti is sitting there quietly messing around with his thumbs.
Furina knows that both of them heard and sensed her walk up, and both are waiting for her to make the first move, one in which she does not want to make, but will still do regardless.
Curling her hand into a fist as she counts from one to five in her head, she makes her already known presence known.
“Ah, sorry to intrude on your conversation Monsieur Neuvillette and Venti! I was just unpacking some of the boxes that the lovely melusines brought to my room.” Furina gives a fake smile that she hopes is bright and believable as she walks further into the kitchen, her stomach still rumbling quietly.
“No worries Miss Furina,” Venti starts, the mischievous twinkle still in his bright green eyes. “We were just discussing the history of Fontaine and the melusines.”
History of Fontaine? Furina’s eyes slide over to Neuvilette’s watchful gaze before turning back to Venti and giving him a nod.
“Yes, Fontaine has a very rich history! And the melusines are all amazing as well. I'm glad that Monsieur Neuvillette and you had a good chat about our nation's history.” Furina wants to smack herself for the use of the word our. It’s not her nation anymore, she isn’t a ruler anyone, she has no right to say ours anymore.
Furina’s fingers twitched as she stood there awkwardly trying to find something to say next, her masking cracking ever so slightly with how her body is tensed up and fidgety. If either of the men notice, they have chosen not to mention it.
Furina opens her mouth to speak before getting cut off by her stomach grumbling a little louder now, loud enough to be heard.
Feeling the heat flush her face, she quickly murmurs out an apology to the both of them, Venti who has a smile on his face and Neuvillette who looks a little concerned.
Venti then turns his gaze towards Neuvillette, giving him a look and a small nod before turning back to Furina, the action not going unnoticed to her.
“Well Miss Furina, thank you for summoning me for a lovely chat again, I’m glad we were able to get some stuff out of the way.” Venti stands up, summoning his lyre. “Unfortunately, I do have to go as I have some things I have to take care of.”
Giving her a small smile as he plucks the strings of his lyre, he turns to Neuvillette one more time. “And thank you Mister Iudex of Fontaine, the conversation was very lovely, I do have to say goodbye now though. So I will see you all again soon when the time is right!”
Giving Furina a wink, Venti strums his lyre and disappears in a bright green light, this time, dandelion seeds do not cover her table and her counter and the rest of her kitchen.
Furina’s face was still a bit warm from having her stomach interrupt the mostly onesided conversation that was going on, but she can’t help but feel like Venti left very abruptly. She doesn’t doubt that he has stuff to do, after all, he is an actual archon. Compared to her, where she spent most of her time researching the prophecy and attending operas, she had no power to really help with issues.
I wonder what it’s like to be an actual powerful archon.
The thought pulls at her heart a bit as she stands there quietly.
She gives it no more time though, deciding to bookmark the thought for later as she remembers that she’s not alone.
Sliding her mask back into place as she walks over to the table to push the now unoccupied chair that Venti was once in back under the table, she is aware of Neuvillette’s gaze watching her quietly.
She walks around her kitchen silently trying to busy herself, there really isn't much for her to do. She settles on trying to find a spot to put the cake in for the time being.
“Lady Furina.”
“Just Furina, please.” She answers as she sets the cake back down, deciding to find a suitable spot later and turns back to Neuvillette, trying to muster a small smile for him.
“.. Furina, I hope that this house is an adequate choice for you.” Neuvillette answers, his stoic expression back on his face.
For a moment Furina’s mask cracks ever so slightly, 400 years of their relationship as Iudex and Archon out the window in the matter of a couple of days.
“Ah. That hurts a bit. All of that trust seems like it's gone. I don’t blame him to be honest..”
“It’s perfectly fine, I like how cozy it is! Thank you for blessing me with such a wonderful establishment!.” Furina responds, hoping that her answer sounds on brand enough of her.
Neuvillette furrows his brow at the note of her old personality, not expecting it to make an appearance with how Furina was acting both when she opened the door and during the earlier conversation.
You see right through my mask don’t you.
Furina opens her mouth one more time to speak before her stomach grumbles again, this time loud enough that she can’t ignore it.
“.. Please forgive my uhm.. stomach’s sudden intrusion. I haven’t had the time to go out and buy many food items or stock up my cabinets.” Furina walks over and opens a cabinet to show, before closing it with a soft thud.
“I was actually planning to head out to the market at some point today, but uh, I didn’t expect to have.. such esteemed guests join me.”
“I’m sorry for intruding on your time Miss Furina.”
Furina inwardly sighs at the use of the title “miss.”
“I had planned to stop by and just see how you were doing, I figured that it would be a better time to do it when the melusines stopped by.”
“It’s perfectly okay Monsieur! I appreciate the visit.” Furina is not sure if she actually appreciates the visit at the current moment.
“In that case, would you mind if I accompanied you to the market Miss Furina?”
Furina falters for a second before biting her tongue, her mask cracking once again.
“Of course my dear Iudex! I do not mind if you accompany me to the market.” She gives him a forced smile before making her way to her front door, noting that he got up and is now following behind her.
Opening the door she walks out and turns around, holding the door open for Neuvillette. Once he walked past, she shut the door behind her and started the walk with him towards the market.
The walk to the market was quiet outside of the occasional chatter of bystanders in the street and the clunking of metal from Estelle’s workshop. Each person that pointed at her and whispered behind their hands to others while staring at her caused her to wilt further and further into herself.
Here she was, the former Archon and leader of Fontaine, wearing days old clothes, missing most of her hair, and looking like death, walking alongside the new leader and man that put her on trial. She could already hear the newspapers tomorrow eating up them just for walking together.
“How absolutely awful.” Furina thought to herself, her arms wrapping around herself as she felt a slight breeze flow by her. The streets of Fontaine looked much better then how they did when she walked to the new home that was given to her.
The streets looked clean and while there were small signs of past flooding, it was very miniscule. The street lamps still worked just as well as before, and the houses they passed by looked pristine, and in her opinion, better looking than before.
Letting out a sigh, which seemed to be her new thing the past two days, she watched the people working on reconstruction for some stands and buildings that weren’t as lucky. She admired their resilience and determination, something that she was lacking at the present moment.
The walk down the stairs to the waterway hub was just as silent as when Furina opened the door to lead Neuvillette out. Furina wondered what he was thinking about. Was coming with her a way of subtly apologizing and trying to get on her good side or something? Or, was it to show the people of Fontaine that there was no bad blood between the two. She has no clue honestly.
On that note, her hands felt clammy from gripping her sides so hard, it was honestly hard not to lose herself in her mind nowadays just because she is no longer required to maintain a pristine reputation and look in the eyes of her former people. In the past, seeing the Hydro Archon lost in thought was a rarity because of her love for her people, she would put all of her energy into greeting and waving back at everyone she saw.
Reaching the bottom of the stairs and lost in thought, Furina tripped on the last step causing her to fall forward, but not before she was caught by Neuvillette. The look of shock and that then morphed into embarrassment on her face was evident as she quickly pushed herself out of his arms as she felt the gaze of bystanders looking at them.
“How embarrassing..” Furina muttered to herself, her cheeks blazing hot and tiny tears starting to form in her mismatched eyes. She quickly wiped away the forming tears as she took a breath to recollect her thoughts.
She was very aware of Neuvillette’s piercing gaze on her, and the gaze of everyone else as well. She hadn’t even been in public for more than 5 minutes and she already embarrassed herself. If she hadn’t been an actor in a meticulously horrid act of 500 years, Furina would’ve probably let her tears go free, but alas, even with her name dishonored and her image ruined, she would still try her best to maintain her old persona to the people that came up to her.
Turning to Neuvillette with her face still slightly flushed, she gave him a small nod to tell him to keep walking. The silence from him felt a little deafening, but talking about everything that had transpired and been found out in the past two days in public was probably not the smartest decision from the both of them. And honestly, while Furina had grew to love the sound of his voice, she is still very grateful that he has just let her be.
Outside of the questioning from this morning, he has not intruded on her space, asked her personal questions, or anything else.
A gentleman through and through, despite still being a dragon.
As they continued their walk, Furina appreciated the aroma of coffee filling the air, causing a small smile to pop up on her face. They were passing by the Café Lutece, a place that Furina would have the melusines frequent for her whenever she wanted some coffee, and a place that she knew the traveler would help out often when she had commissions there.
The coffee was always good, and the atmosphere of the surroundings was always vibrant and relaxing. After all, who doesn’t love sitting down and enjoying a nice cup of coffee?
This time around though, the atmosphere was not as vibrant and relaxing as Furina had seen it in the past. It was more agitated and hostile then she’s ever seen it before.
There were many people sitting down holding their coffee giving her weird looks and stares as she and the Iudex passed by. She cannot blame them, but that does not mean that the looks do not still hurt her.
Many people were probably mad at her lack of action when it came to the primordial water rising in Possion and allowing them to lose innocent lives. Furina is not innocent with her inaction, in fact it has haunted her these past couple days silently. As an Archon, it was her duty to protect her people, to keep them safe, to stop things like the prophecy.
But most of the public was not aware of the sacrifices she made, and they will continue to be unaware for the rest of their days. They will never know about the 500 years of acting and pain she had to endure. She was a cursed human, not an elemental wielder.
The lack of power over her own element that she was supposed to be the god of was a horrible feeling. She couldn’t control hydro, she couldn’t even control or stop the primordial sea, because in the end, it still did rise. People still died, and there she was sitting in her chair, crying silently as she was being sentenced to death for her crimes.
Although her trial was dismissed, she’s sure that the lack of the death sentence being carried out on someone as high of a profile as her has caused unrest in some of the citizens. Hell, she’s sure that some of them still want that exact sentence to be enacted on her. In the end, she doesn’t blame any of the anger or agitation that they feel with her, she honestly feels like its deserved for her inaction and lies.
Deciding to keep going past the Café Lutece, Furina admired some of the outfits she saw at a boutique that she was passing by, although in her personal opinion, she doesn’t think that it will surpass the skills of the Chioriya Boutique. Continuing her walk for a little longer before she sees a market with a lady with pretty brown orange hair managing it.
Silently signaling to Neuvillette that this is where she wants to shop, she remembers her lack of funds and silently curses herself for what she does next as she grabs his gloved hand and pulls him aside for a second.
Her face was slightly flushed as she scratched her the back of her head lightly.
“Monsieur Neuvillette, I’m extremely sorry to ask this of you, but I don’t really have the funds to purchase anything from this market.” Furina rushes out quickly before she continues on. “Any funds I did have are probably in the boxes in my room.” She says awkwardly.
Neuvillette speaks as soon as Furina finished her rushed out statement.
“Furina, it is no issue at all if you need some mora from me for food and other items. I would be happy to oblige.”
Furina was silently cursing the dragon in front of her for still being so kind to her despite everything she’s done.
Letting out a sigh of relief, she looked up at him with a small smile before running over to the market and looking at items to pick out as she ignored the gaze of the surprised market manager who hadn’t expected the former archon to be there, and the gaze of the sovereign that was looking at her with a soft look on his face.
The first items that Furina looked at was the fresh fruits and vegetables section. Back in the Palais Mermonia, Furina was obviously served the highest quality of food that Fontaine had to offer, but now that she was on her own, she was actually a little excited to try her own hand at cooking.
As she grabbed a small bag, she picked up vegetables like potatoes, mushrooms, carrots and bell peppers before she moved over towards the fruits and picked up fruits like tomatoes, strawberries, blueberries and more. Making a mental note of meals that she wanted to try and cook in her head as she walked around.
Shopping was not something Furina got to do often back when she was archon, as most of the things that she needed were brought to her by the wonderful melusines that worked alongside her. It felt nice to do it on her own for once.
As Furina kept looking around, she stopped infront of a shelf full of boxes of macaroni, a dish that was one of her personal favorites and has been a favorite for the past couple hundreds of years. It was relatively easy to cook from what she had heard from the melusines she had asked in the past, so it was the perfect dish that could satisfy the rumbling in her stomach. Grabbing a bunch of boxes, (honestly way more then she needed to) she dropped them in her bag before walking up to the lady that was still in shock of her former archon at her shop.
With an awkward smile on her face, she turned to Neuvillette and signaled to him that she was done shopping and ready to pay.
“H-Hello Lady Furina!” The starstruck woman at the counter spoke to the archon as she watched her empty out her bag.
“Hello Ma’am.” Furina smiled warmly to the woman that was calculating the total at the counter. Maybe some of her former citizens didn’t hate her as much as she thought, but maybe she was just overthinking it.
The woman at the counter almost had her soul leave her body when she saw the Iudex of Fontaine appear besides Lady Furina, holding way too much mora for her order.
Taking the mora from Neuvillette’s hand with a smile still plastered on her face, she turned to the lady at the counter who looked like she had seen a ghost.
“Here Ma’am,” Furina paused before turning to Neuvillette and standing on her tippy toes and whispering to him, honestly getting a lot closer to him then she needed to. “Is it okay if I tip her the excess mora?”
She looked into his lavender eyes as he nodded in an instant, as if she had asked him if 1 is 1, as if she had just asked him something that was completely common sense.
Returning to her normal height, she packed everything back in the bag that she had and paid the woman and tipped the excess, causing her to freak out.
“L-Lady Furina.. that is so kind of you, believe me you did not have to do that.” The lady had tears in her eyes, catching Furina slightly off guard.
“Don’t worry about it! I appreciate you having a selection of high quality items!”
And with that Furina and Neuvillette started walking away, back towards her home. Although the smile Furina had given the lady was genuine, she couldn’t help but feel like she was still acting as how she did before. It left a sour taste in her mouth, she hadn’t even noticed her mask slide right back into place when she was conversing for the short time with Neuvillette and the woman.
Letting a bit of tension out of her shoulders as she embarked on the short way back home, she gave one last glance to the Cafe on her right before turning her vision straight ahead. She knows she can’t undo the damage that has been done, but she hopes that at least some point in the future, she’ll have a chance to redeem herself for them.
It won’t bring back the people who passed, but she hopes that it atleast could bring a bit of peace to the raging anger that was quietly dwelling in some of her former citizens.
Gripping the bag tightly with her right hand as she walked up the stairs with Neuvillette, she admired the feel of the sun on her skin. It was a more sunny day today, not too many clouds as well. It felt nice seeing as the last time Furina felt the sun on her skin, it was after Fontaine had been flooded. The sun had been peeking through the clouds when she had gone outside, as if to greet her.
Hearing the clank of Estelle’s shop as she got closer to it and therefore closer to her home, Furina felt the weird tension and anxiety that had been quietly building up in her chest start to subside. She hadn’t even owned the residence for long and it was already starting to feel like her safe haven.
So when she arrived at her door, bag in hand, she turned to Neuvillette, awkwardly trying to come up with something to say to him before she just settled on a thanks.
“Monsieur Neuvillette, I greatly appreciate you walking with me to the market and visiting this morning. I apologize for taking up a huge chunk of your time, and seeing as I’m a bit hungry, I’d like to say goodbye.” Furina cringed a bit at her wording.
“Of course. Furina. You did not take up a chunk of my time, and I enjoyed our walk.” Neuvillette spoke softly.
“If you need anything, please do not hesitate to send a letter to me or the melusines, we will gladly extend a hand to help.” Neuvillette offered her a warm smile.
“My thanks Monsieur, I look forward to our next meeting.” And with that, and a small wave, Furina opened her door and walked inside.
Setting her bag down and closing the door, she let out the big breath she had been holding. The entire outing she had been feeling particularly anxious and nervous. She felt like she had a million thoughts and emotions racing through her at the same time, ready to burst at any moment possible and overflow.
Rubbing her face with both of her hands, trying to alleviate the anxiety and stress, she finally appreciates being home alone. No Neuvillette, and no Venti.
Reaching down for her bag, she rummages through it and grabs a box of pasta and some of the vegetables she bought and walks over to her kitchen table. Furina has cooked before, but it had to have been at least 50 years since she had done it. Trying to remember the instructions the melusines had given her years ago, she searches her cabinets for a pot.
After a good couple minutes of searching, she comes up with a decently sized pot that she thinks is suitable enough. She then turns to her sink, turning it on and filling it with water before putting it on her stove. One small issue that quickly arose is that Furina has no clue on how to operate a stove. Eyeing the stove in front of her, she looks at all the switches and after a small bit of tinkering, she was able to make a decently sized fire under the pot.
Hopefully she’ll be able to put that out later..
She then turned her attention to the vegetables she picked. She hadn’t picked out any sauces which was okay, because she didn’t want to overwhelm her stomach with her pasta. So she picked up mushrooms and bell peppers and brought them to the counter. Looking around for a knife, she spots one in a knife rack and pulls it out. Setting it down next to the vegetables, she opens a couple other cabinets and drawers before she finds what she’s looking for.
A cutting mat. Perfect.
Pulling it out and putting the vegetables on top, Furina started to slowly try and chop them up. She wasn’t a natural, but she was pretty good at it for how little kitchen preparation she's ever done. Her plan for a meal today was just pasta with mushrooms (no sauce), and some bell peppers on the side. She didn’t want to overdue it because with how anxious she’s been feeling lately, one big meal might end up in her toilet if she's not careful.
Once she chopped them up, she turned her attention back to the pot of water that was already boiling. She then grabbed the box and opened it, and in the process, pouring the entire contents of it in the pot. Maybe not the smartest idea to make THAT much pasta, but hey it's okay. She bought extra boxes for a reason.
Letting that boil for a bit, Furina decided to go to her bathroom and to try and freshen up. Walking down the hallway she opened the door and turned on the light that was in the bathroom. She had no mirror in her bathroom, which honestly felt like it was for the better, so she turned on her sink and splashed her face with some cold water to try and help her focus. She’s been so all over the place the past two days, she doesn’t even feel like herself.
It’s exhausting.
Turning off the faucet, she folded her arms over the sink and laid her head on her hands for a brief moment. It was uncomfortable as she was still standing, but she stood there and just enjoyed the silence for a bit before straightening back up and heading back to her kitchen.
As she walked back into her kitchen, she quickly headed over to the boiling water and tried to inspect the pasta, but to her dismay she wasn’t able to see because of the bubbles. Looking for a pair of tongs in her cabinets turned out to be a bit of a challenge, the melusines and whoever else prepared the house for her had gotten her everything she could have ever needed.
She just didn’t know where to find it. In the process of searching for a pair of tongs, she found a pasta strainer and took it out and set it aside for later. Continuing her search she found items like a baking tray, cookie molds, a whisk, a can opener, a grater and measuring spoons just to be quick. She found so much more before she finally found the tongs she was looking for.
Quickly grabbing them, she turned her attention back to the boiling water and tried picking up pieces of pasta with the tongs. She was able to successfully pick a piece up and see that it was indeed squishy like what the pasta she had before felt like.
She then spent way too long trying to find out how to turn off a stove.
“Seriously, why is there no just on and off switch? The people of Fontaine are incredibly smart, I just wish they made stuff easier to understand.” She thought to herself as she finally was able to turn it off. She then grabbed the pot by the slightly hot side handles and brought it over to her sink. Grabbing the pasta strainer she set aside earlier, she put it in the sink and carefully poured the pasta over the strainer until there was no water left and MOST of the pasta made it into the strainer. There were a couple pieces in the sink which she just picked up and put off to the side to dispose of.
Opening an overhead cabinet she found some bowls and some utensils next to them. Grabbing a bowl and a fork, she carefully poured some of the pasta from the strainer in her bowl before she grabbed the sliced up mushrooms and put them in her pasta. She left the bell peppers off to the side to eat once she finished the pasta.
She then brought her bowl back to her table and sat down, starting to dig into her most recent attempt at cooking.
It actually didn’t taste that bad, she just needed to learn how to cook more items then pasta and to remember to pick up sauces that she could use for variety.
“Maybe I’ll send a message to Sedene to ask the melusines that make food for their recommendations..” She thought to herself as she continued to quickly plow through the food. Her stomach glad to finally have some food in it after the past 2 and a half days.
Man, she felt like a mess, but at least her first meal on her own tasted good. That was a small win against all the massive losses’ that the past couple days have been.
Furina’s mind wanders back to this morning.
“I wonder what Neuvillette and Venti talked about when I left.” She thought to herself as she started to clean up her mess.
“I have no clues on what could have given me immortality. Maybe something Mirror-Me did, maybe something I can’t remember?” Furina’s mind raced all over the place as she busied herself with making her kitchen look spotless.
Her pendant on her chest moving slightly as she ran around.
