Work Text:
"You have thirty seconds to get ready for school!" My mother announces.
Well, that's a problem, because I don't know how to count to thirty. If only somebody could teach me.
Suddenly, the roof of my bedroom disappears, and a golden escalator is revealed. Will Wood begins to decend from the heavens, and lands in my bedroom. "Fear not, child," He begins, "I shall teach you to count to thirty!"
He jumps out of my window and lands inside his tiny clown car. Conveniently, all of the houses across the street are shaped like numbers. He drives to the house shaped like the number 1. A chorus of little children sings out, "One!" He drives to the next house, shaped like a large 2. The children sing "Two!" Same with the third, fourth, fifth, so on and so forth.... until he reaches house 30.
Will finally returns, jumping back into my bedroom through the window.
"Thank you so much for teaching me to count to thirty, Mr. Wood!" I exclaim. He holds out his hand and I shake it gratefully, before he steps back onto his golden escalator and ascens back into heaven.
