Drift can"t believe he"s sitting by a grave, Jamie"s grave.
The day he lost her is too fresh in his mind. He feels like he failed Jamie since she was successful in ending her life. Drift knows he wouldn"t feel much better knowing it was her condition that killed her. Everyone isn"t sure if they are happy that they remember Jamie. That Optimus decided to have a memorial. What"s buried is what Jamie had while in this dimension. Drift couldn"t say anything at the memorial. He wrote what he likely would have said in his diary;
The day I lost you, I lost part of my spark.
The day I lost you, I lost the love of my life.
The day I lost you, I felt like I lost my world.
I love you, Jamie. I"m sorry I couldn"t help you.
Drift wakes up, terrified. He looks around the room, believing he and Crosshairs are staying at Cade and Vivian"s after the funeral. Until he sees Jamie asleep beside him.
Drift sees it"s four in the morning. He"s terrified to go back to sleep. Hating, he remembers his dream.
"You look awful," Crosshairs comments, concerned, "you feeling ok?"
Drift didn"t think Crosshairs would be checking if he was warm when he knows he has evidence of lack of sleep. At least today, he"s not sleeping in late.
"I don"t want to talk about it."
"Again?"
Drift hates that Crosshairs figured out what"s going on. He didn"t want to tell Crosshairs, worried that would cause Crosshairs to have the same nightmare.
While Drift tells him about his nightmare, Drift wonders if Crosshairs has had nightmares since the night Jamie ran off. He hates Crosshairs doesn"t often talk, and worries Crosshairs isn"t telling him about having nightmares. By the time Drift finishes telling Crosshairs about his nightmares, tears roll down his face. Crosshairs takes Drift out to the balcony.
Drift hugs Crosshairs and cries. Crosshairs hates not knowing what to say. Both worry about Jamie, but their relationships with her are different. Even if it doesn"t look like it. He doesn"t believe having Drift talk to Rung will help. Hating how much Jamie is struggling, which caused him and Drift to worry. Crosshairs tries to calm Drift down. Knowing there"s not much he can say. Feeling a bit odd, he"s using the same method the two mechs use to calm Jamie.
Once calm, Drift goes to take a shower. Crosshairs worries this is going to be a problem for a long time. Usually, after a week, the nightmares would stop. It"s annoying how the nightmares suddenly return, but it"s concerning if the nightmares are going to stick around for a while.
